  1. What is even more astonishing is that she so easily lies about what she said, claiming that it was simply an attempt at a joke that went wrong because she was so tired.
Nonsense. Liar. What she said was precisely how she and her followers feel.
It is interesting how these holier than thou leftie types never hesitate to lie the second they get caught.
As always, the left sees truth as a very relative concept.

  2. oh my , this is worse because she doesn’t appear drunk .
no calls for resignation? the press has gone catatonic.
worse thing is , she has lasted long enough to get a pension .

  3. That was her goal all along. That’s why she spent the entire Green budget on her campaigns and her profile. She through her party down the toilet. It was never about the movement or the party or the country; it was always about her.
The woman she called less classy than a terrorist and a piece of shit was the one that saved her in the end.

  4. That diatribe was the most cringe worthy embarrassing display of an arrogant sanctimonious sickening condescending self serving drunk, that I think I will ever see. Today she’s all over the news being feted because the media hates Harper. She should resign and go back to wherever she’s from.

  5. As I suspected yesterday – she wasn’t drunk. The lie here is that she was tired – except she was not speaking extemporaneously. According to her she, with forethought, thought this was funny material. One can only hope that her classless act is enough to convince her that she should resign her seat and leadership immediately.

  6. “Coast Salish Territory” – piss off, you dirty old hippie warhag.

  7. On second thought, please include her in all leaders debates. Canadians need to see this.

“Thank you Mr. Harper. And now Ms May, 10 minutes to say whatever the hell pops into your head.”

  8. Remember this?
Saying what she believes and then saying she didn’t really mean it that way is an old habit with her. Pig!!!

  9. Via a process irrelevant to this comment I was at one time attending a meeting of the “Round Table on the Environment”, remember that? Set up as an opportunity for industry, NGO’s and government departments to present and discuss their positions on the environment in a constructive manner and give input to possible policy decisions.
Needless to say Ms. May was front and center and “claimed” the committee as her very own. The “table” was in reality more pear shaped, and it was salted with a lopsided over representation of activist NGO’s, who were so obviously and openly directed in their activities by the aforementioned Ms. May. As group they rode roughshod over and dismissed out of hand any industry/business input. Thank goodness the circus was shut down.
But Ms. May? Oh my, she was, and apparently still is, so self-centered as to beggar belief. I was, and still am, gob-smacked at the selfishness and self-serving attitudes of Ms May and her ilk.
It’s “Time out” for Ms May, go and sit in the corner and reflect.
Hopefully Canadian voters will see just how nasty and puerile the hidden face of the green movement is.

  10. Yeah, she’s a ‘leader’…
‘leading’ you along into political dementia.
One small but significant point, PM Stephen Harper isn’t a dictator, he was ELECTED.
But, Elizabeth May didn’t LIKE the RESULT of the ELECTION; hence her vacuous rant.

  11. She just explained, so perfectly, why Stephen Harper doesn’t attend the stupid dinner.
She also explained why the other leaders do attend.

  12. Nailed it Frank. May we live to see the day when he pays similar attention to the UN.

  13. Hans “PM Stephen Harper isn’t a dictator, he was ELECTED.”
Three times – so people knew exactly what they were getting.

  14. @Joe: May 11, 2015 1:16 PM
Or maybe she was drunk, but can’t bring herself to admit it because she’s too embarrassed to admit the truth. I for one don’t believe the “tired” story.
Maybe a trip to AA will fix ‘er up.

  15. Always amusing to watch the most recent feminist-lottery-winners demolishing whatever advances the former ones might have made.

  16. The only thing more disgusting then her statements is the thought of seeing her naked.

  17. There is something “off” about May in this video, and I don’t mean her usual “off-her-rocker” stuff.
She looks like she’s hyped up on a stimulant, maybe dexedrine? Loki? What’s your take?
If she isn’t stoned, then she is clearly deranged.
Allah almighty, what does it say about the people who support her and vote for her?
And WHY did Lisa Raitt rescue her? She should have let the lunatic rave on and show the Canadian public the person they are really getting, not the saviour-of-the-planet that Greens worship.

  18. “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”
    -Abraham Lincoln-
How could she even show her face following that! In an effort to slam Harper, she gave him way more ammo than he will ever need, and like the class act he is, won’t need to use it cause she just keeps reminding people what the alternative are and they are not palatable.

  19. “And yes, I think she should resign. Immediately.”
I disagree. She should not. The more she sticks around, the more she and her party are exposed as nutbars on the fringe, a constant reminder of the Fruit Loops faction.

  20. If only Raitt had the presence of mind to allow May to continue in her political self-destruction. The compassion of the right was on display here. Contrast that with the vile pettiness of the opposition.
Toughen up CPC. The lunatics on the other side of the house are out for blood.

  21. They put mass murderer Mao’s picture on the White House Christmas tree and when caught out, pretended that it was a joke.

  22. While it is shocking to see her so daft as to say all this in public, at the same time it was obvious to people like me that she has always felt this way.
You could see hints of this in her public comments and the election debates, where she was smug and abrasive and showed signs of contempt to her opponents, specifically the Conservatives.
So her apology is really a lie, as others have said. Everyone knows this. When people are drunk, they lose their inhibitions, and they’re more likely to reveal their true thoughts and feelings.
What this really shows is that she is much worse a politician than previously thought. Most politicians are capable of drinking without exposing themselves.

  23. Was she drunker? Has anyone ever seen her sober? Was she lampooning Natives?
Why does she think that “equal” is good enough?… Equal to what?

  24. First week in May was mental health week. She was just a bit late in showcasing how far we still have to go before opening the doors and allowing people like her to mingle with the normal people. Judging by the sparse applause, she had a few of her fellow inmates along for company. This woman wants to be prime minister ? Shouldn’t sanity be some kind of requirement ?

  25. Ms Riatt was actually trying to be nice and get Lizzy off before she could embarrass herself even more. To let the greenie yap on anymore and you would have seen the press turn her into a victim.

  26. No, thank you.
I choose to not pollute my mind with profanity, vulgarity, and just plain rudeness and ignorance. I appreciate that people whose opinion I trust are willing to endure it in order to warn me.
    Thanks.

  27. A true representative of the Saanich gulf islands and the people who reside there. Vulgar, pro-terrorist and drunk.

  28. Hey, all you Trogdolytes!!
I’ll have you know that the Honorable Ms. May is Maclean’s 2014 Parliamentary “Orator of the Year”.
    http://www.macleans.ca/politics/ottawa/2014-parliamentarians-of-the-year/
So, you’re penance for slagging Ms. May so viciously is to watch her speech again, keeping in mind the esteem in which she is held. I’m sure that you will all come to see the genius of her words and be sorry for your nastiness.
    Heh, heh, heh.
Thanks to Mark Steyn who had the link in his comments today.

  29. I saw her on the shCity Tv news feed while waiting to have a tooth pulled. IT, claimed to have overdosed on NyQuil! After her coverup bull I told the dentist I was already anesthetized and to forget the needle!

  30. OK, I caught the end bit earlier, then decided (like an idiot) that I may as well watch the whole thing. Couldn’t get past the 5 minute mark. Too nauseating. Lizzie misses the entire point of these gatherings: for politicians to poke good-natured fun at themselves, at their own foiblea, thereby humanizing themselves. Lizzie, of course, instead spends her time casting aspersions and ad hominem attacks at Stephen Harper. Here’s a comedy lesson for ya, Liz: Tripping and doing a pratfall like Mr. Bean is funny. Pushing someone else down the stairs is not funny, it’s just mean. The closest she came to a joke in her entire appearance was that hideous dress she was wearing. Fashion tip: racing stripes may look good on a Camaro, but seldom do on a dress, even if the wearer is roughly the same size as a Camaro. just saying. Five minutes of my life I will never get back. Are there really enough tinfoil hat-wearing moonbats in this country to get this awful woman re-elected? Pity.

  31. From openparliament.ca, some Elizabeth May points of order:
    Oct. 20th, 2011:
The point of order I wish to make relates to Standing Order 16, that when a member is speaking, no member shall interrupt him or her, and Standing Order 18, that no member shall use offensive words against other members.
I would just ask members to consider what kind of behaviour we are modelling. I know question period is seen to be a blood sport. I know you, Mr. Speaker, would appreciate more decorum. From the bottom of my heart, as a mother who does not like to see bullying, I would like us to consider our own behaviour.
    Oct. 4, 2012:
“Mr. Speaker, in point of fact, I have spoken more often in the House over the last year than any other member. That is not the source of my complaint. My complaint is that previous Speakers, particularly Speaker Sauvé, were very clear in setting out guidelines. It is not helpful to the maintenance and improvement of decorum in this place to have S. O. 31s used for personal attacks …”
    Oct. 24th, 2012:
“Mr. Speaker, some days ago, I drew attention to the fact that Standing Order 31 seemed to have become a source of increasing disharmony in the House, encouraging a lack of decorum.
    And this:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgJHdALYjOg
I’m sure there are many other examples of Elizabeth May calling on MPs to show more decorum in the House. Typical pontificator that she is, “do as I say not as I do”.

  32. There comes a moment, in every generation, when it becomes unfashionable to be with the “fashionable” set. This would be just such a moment.
I am reminded of Ms. Campbell’s ad about Mr. Chretien’s facial disability, and of Mr. Chretien’s subsequent, “Give me the names!” moment, and, of course, Mr. Martin’s, “We wish we had known more.”
I think it’s just great that the CBC has decided not to dissemble about this catastrophe — not that it will help the Liberals or the NDP in the least (helping either, or both, was surely their only purpose in releasing the video).
From my point of view, Green politics has been a very useful stalking horse for the politically-correct — nod in agreement, as it provides you cover, by assuaging your own self-doubt, while you go on driving your 7 Series BMW, or whatever.
Now there is no cover, nor any excuse for voting Liberal or NDP.
To paraphrase Jane Austen, “Thank you, May dear, you have delighted us just long enough.”

  33. Mr. Speaker I rise on a point of order.
The Honourable Member for Saanich-Gulf Isands is too inebriated to make a point.
In fact, the Honourable Member is quite pointless and incapable of decorum.
“Elizabeth May, they say, could stick it away,
Half a crate of whiskey every day.”
It’s like the old german aphorism…
“Jeden Tag betrunken ist auch ein geregeltes leben.”
    Translation:
“Every day drunk, is also a disciplined life.”

  34. Snagglepuss, you want to move that n two spaces to the right, I know you do.

  35. That is really a remarkable harangue. I can’t recall anything quite like it in Canadian politics.
I hesitate to suggest Ms. May seek help but something is clearly wrong here. She doesn’t exhibit a modicum of sense. It is really a classless performance. Embarrassing.
