A few hours later, Jaffe apparently became aware of the fact that non-humans are not entitled to habeas (guess she forgot that basic legal principle?), and issued an order for Stony Brook to “show cause” for “detaining” Hercules and Leo-which is bad enough, as it imposes a burden upon the owner of an animal to explain to a judge why an animal is being “detained.” I would hate to think that some radical leftist neighbor could haul me into court to “show cause” as to why I am “detaining” my dog, Thomas Jefferson.

Why aren’t some of these stupid judges pulled in front of a judicial council or whatever and fired?
If a judge ever orders me to show cause why I am “detaining” my dog I think I’ll be able to find a local bylaw that prohibits me allowing my dog to roam freely.
Judges are there to interpret the law. How can you interpret a law that doesn’t exist ? There should be a law that specifies a minimal amount of common sense before one can become a judge. But then again, all judges were lawyers before they were elevated to god like status and only the ambulances changed. The thinking has not. We would do far better if we had farmers as judges. Have never met one that doesn’t have common sense. Logic and basic intelligence is not something one can learn. Many judges fall short on both but are well educated idiots. Jaffe is a prime example.

After she calls animal services, have her charged with kidnapping and unlawful detainment. SHE is the one that said they deserve the same rights as humans, so she should be charged for violating “THEIR RIGHTS.”

This is the State arranging to be able to come for your animals if they feeeel it appropriate. Such as if you are a research lab, dog breeder, cattle herder, hog farmer, chicken farmer or etc.

The civil law system has been sodomized by 3 generations of Proglodyte judiciary and it becomes obvious that we have descended so deep into madness of unicorn-rainbow-land that the only way back to sanity and commonlaw reform is to bring back the stocks and public stoning of demented kangaroos like Jaffe.
If we knew how many progressives cheered and applauded Jaffe’s decision, we would probably be in awe of the number. I would suggest that the stocks and stoning is closer to be reserved for the non progressives that see this ruling as idiocy. It almost seems like “demented kangaroos”like Jaffe are now the majority.
