Happy Easter all! While I do not believe in a God, there is a spirituality out there that guides me and mine in times of stress, craziness, and politicians. It will always show the true way.
He is risen, INDEED!!!
Happy Resurrection Day, a day of wonder and grace..
Not sure why people are shocked at religious liberty being lost, this is all stated in scripture.
No matter what we will have a thousand years of darkness ,before he returns we are in the end of days.
This is the begining of the 1000 years.
But as an aside note christians have been persecuted for 1000’s of years you think 21 christians getting beheaded is different? This is normal and has happened for 1000’s of years.
The crusades where Catholics fighting for lands that were stolen, but evangelical Christians had no part of it except for being puris cured by the Catholics as well.
I am not picking a fight , nor am I saying we should lay down, we should fight and defend ourselves and lives , but we will lose, WE WILL LOSE this is written. we will lose here on earth , but we have a winner in Christ he won our salvation. We have nothing to fear. No islam, no atheism, no government, nothing to fear.
It will be a rough road ahead for TRUE Christians as we can see from Egyptian migrant christian workers, to bakery’s in USA , to christian universities in Canada .this has all been foretold . Don’t be scared you have nothing to fear. Jesus has won. Once again we can and must fight and defend our faith, but ultimately we will be slaughtered for it. We will be persecuted for it. So are you a Christian? Do you beleive he won victory for you? If so REJOICE he has risen. Alleluiah HE IS RISEN INDEED!!

Easter varies from march to april but theres first Palm Sunay,Good Friday then Easter sunday and in some places Easter Monday

We have this strange (to the western mind) tradition in Eastern Orthodoxy (all the world’s apostolic Christianity outside the geographic purview of the Bishop of Rome).
Pascha (from the root word Passover) is always celebrated after Passover for several reasons which have to do with timelines.
One, scriptures clearly say Jesus entered Jerusalem during Passover, which began last Friday. The Orthodox timeline celebrated Palm Sunday yesterday.
Two, the Last Supper (a Passover meal) happened in the week following the entry to Jerusalem.
Three, Pascha always is celebrated after Passover (which ends this coming Friday) since it is symbolic of a timeline passage from the Old Law to the New Law.
The word Pascha is used everywhere but the English-speaking world, including in Italy. The word Easter is believed to have originated from the name of a pagan godess.
Having said all that, all here are entitled to believe in whatever they choose to believe.

Bluetech I hope you don’t mind if I jump into the discussion. One of the problems we have in the English language is the imprecise meaning of words. Take the word ‘believe’. I believe you, I believe in Santa Claus, I believe I will have a sip of wine. None of these phrases explain my Belief in Yahweh any more than my saying I believe my wife exists even as she sits beside me on the couch. I don’t believe Yahweh exists I KNOW He exists and His Existence is the only logical explanation of the existence of the universe as we know it. No human construct comes close to explaining what we see and experience every day. Leaving God out when we make our constructs simply leaves gaping holes that a honest 3 year old could point out. Leaving God out simply leads to the logically untenable position of Causeless Causation/ Unreasoned Reasonableness.
Non-believer myself, but a Muslim friend assures me that God/Allah is on the side of HIS religion’s brethren,so, he says,there isn’t going to be any “second coming” of Christ, but a world wide caliphate in about a hundred years.
I probably won’t be around to see if he was right.

Don Morris you Islamic friend is being a bit disingenuous if he says Muslims believe Allah is on the side of Muslims. Muslims are faced with a conundrum in that they can not know the Will of Allah. Thus Allah can be on their side until he is not on their side and Muslims will never know if and when Allah switched sides.
Whew! What ever happened to good old Catechism, as I was taught? And, we all make typos from time to time, but this stream of thought is ridiculous. Every Mass I attended from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, was packed. Unfortunately, the colour of the adherents has changed, but there are just as many “bums in pews” as ever! I think you’ll find that many of those who have fallen away, will return – after all, what will replace the greatest story ever told? The Truth will our, in the end.
