This study found that after worm treatment, a buffalo with this disease had the theoretical potential to infect nine other buffalos. This difference was based on the finding that dewormed buffalo with TB can survive for years, whereas the life expectancy of untreated TB-infected buffalo was much shorter.

Can anyone say “Unintended Consequences”. This is Natures way of culling the herd. We’ve come along and through our western liberal largesse,we’ve supported third world countries with foreign aid. Countries that 100 years ago were unable to sustain their population and as a result the population was kept in check, naturally. But by exporting massive amounts of food and material that these countries could not produce themselves we’ve upset the natural balance and the unintended consequence is that now these countries are exporting their excess.
