Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

Awkward.

Toronto lawyer Sandra Zisckind of Diamond and Diamond is often a Global guest, sitting at the anchor table with Roberts, with both her name and the name of her law firm noted on the television screen as she comments on legal issues. The spots run for about three minutes, a boon for any company trying to make a living.
What Roberts said he has never revealed, to viewers or to Global, is that he is “creative director” and part owner of BuzzPR, a company that provided media training for Diamond and Diamond lawyers and helped them get featured on Global news.

  1. That’s rich…The Star ‘investigating’ other media….
What’s that asteroid statement again Kate?

  2. In a similar vein, I AM curious about yapper Don Martin on CTV at their 5 pm time slot.
Politicians Elizabeth May and Tom Mucair are so far up Martins’ ASS, only their shoes are showiwng.
    SPEAK OF SHAPING NEWS, eh?

  3. “At Global News we take matters of journalistic integrity very seriously” Best laugh I had so far today. No time for Lefty Roberts for a long time.

  4. I used to be a regular watcher of Global news back in the 90’s. I kept watching for a while after Roberts got there, but he’s probably the main reason I stopped watching Canadian evening news all together, even before I had good access to such a wide variety of alternatives on the web. My mom still watches news on TV, she’s 85. Her little brother is only 80, and he mostly gets his information from the web. Roberts and the rest don’t have much more time.

  5. Ya know, if the poor fellow was over at CBC making Mansbridge’s salary he wouldn’t have to double-dip. I mean, where’s employment equity when a fellow needs it?

  6. Thank goodness they drummed him off CFRB (Newstalk 1010) here in TO when he gave that a try. Didn’t help much, the leftist march has continued and CFRB has slowly become “The Star, Audio Version”.
On another note, anyone notice how suddenly the main qualification for on air radio personalities in Toronto is a very effeminate voice? Anyone remotely male-sounding is obviously scary and conservative.

  7. This is not an awkward situation for those folks …. what is awkward is that we have no clue how to deal with liberals. They have immunity to most scrutiny so we need some kind of Kryptonite to slow them down, but we don’t have any Kryptonite. We have idiotic self-aggrandizing psychopaths masquerading as leadership … not so much Harper himself, if it weren’t for him. I cannot imagine what state Canada would be in by now. The political arena is not for sane individuals. It’s for insane collectives and that’s where our jihad lies … we need to get better leadership if that is possible.

  8. Jerry Agar goes against your argument RN, but then John Downs and his smugness destroys any doubts. I recant. You’re right.

  9. Has anyone viewed the “global tv” ads for their news broadcasts of late?
Saddest and yet funniest I’ve heard in a while.
To paraphrase: Canadians you are still innocent, uninformed and unsophisticated when it comes to breaking news! We’ve been doing for decades now, see we know the score, so you watch us and we’ll tell you what’s happening and don’t worry yer pretty little head ’bout it!

  10. @ bluetech
Kavin Donovan (who wrote the piece on Roberts) also broke the Jian Ghomeshi story. It would seem to me that he deserves a lot of credit !
