  1. From a CP News report about Jian Ghomeshi facing three new sexual assault charges:

On Monday, the CBC announced that two high-ranking executives had been put on indefinite leave of absence in light of the scandal.

The disciplinary measures against Chris Boyce, executive director of CBC Radio, and Todd Spencer, HR executive director, came after they conducted interviews with “Q” employees last summer as part of an internal investigation.

  3. So, the Liberals were for it, before they were against it, or they were against it, before they were for it, or something (“I wish we had known more” — Rt. Hon. Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada, 2005):
    http://www.hilltimes.com/news/politics/2015/01/08/parties-to-lose-per-vote-subsidy-permanently-april-1-liberals-now-support/40636
Regardless of any of that nonsense, the money bit concerns one Pat Martin, MP (NDP):
“Public financing of political parties is far more fair and equitable than the frantic frenzy of begging and groveling they’ve been reduced to today.
Mr. Martin said although donors are eligible for up to a 75 per cent rebate on their donations when they file their income taxes, eliminating the public subsidy gives the wealthy an advantage.
“Without public financing the party that panders to the wealthy has a built in advantage. The people who need representation the most are the people least likely to be able to afford a donation regardless of the tax deduction,” Mr. Martin said in an email.
“Under this model, the prize goes to the party that can best strong arm and shake down their supporters by whatever tactics that yield results. It lends itself to fear mongering and misrepresenting opponent’s policies in order to loosen the cheque books and wallets of the hapless dupes who believe them. ‘If you don’t send us $10 today you’ll be murdered in your sleep by drug crazed socialists.’”
I would encourage everyone to draw their own conclusions.

  5. It’s Friday, the day of the week that the ragheads take over the streets of Paris to pray, show their piety and demand for more Mosques. Should be an interesting day and a fine one for a backlash. The day of mourning is over and a little revenge and putting the fear of God into some filthy dirtbags is in order.

  6. The CBC is now scrubbing the comments about the Paris massacre on the few articles that they actually allowed comments.
Most of the top comments on this story have been sent down the rabbit hole. Unfortunately,I don’t have screenshots.

But it got me thinking. I have heard Evan Solomon asking his viewers to comment on cbc.ca as they are a comment driven news source.
What if the comments at cbc are being moderated by a company owned by muslims?
Would that not allow the tail to wag the dog?
    Would the cbc care?
The comments at cbc.ca are moderated by Viafoura, a company that is owned by two “diverse” gentlemen.
Nothing to see here folks, move along.

As with PMSH, the Australian media is no different than our own in their attacks against their own PM for reasons, like here, simply for being a conservative.
And although his motive is obviously not payback against the media who attack him for partisan reasons, it’s brilliant in that it serves that purpose anyway because he must know — as do we all — that they WILL self-censor, further undermining their own credibility beyond everything they have done to themselves to date. That benifits him going forward.
I wish PMSH would do something similar.
One wonders what the effect would be when someone like CTV’s Fife (author of the “Would you have hidden in the closet like the prime minister did” question to Trudeau) having it pointed out to him by critics that while PMSH was taken away to safety from ACTUAL gunfire, he and his collegues at CTV choose to cower from that which they imagine MIGHT result.

  9. Public financing of political parties makes them immune from unpopularity, just like proportional representation. One ends up with a perpetual political class.
One must always be able to throw the bums out and deny them money.
