  1. Trey Goudy for president! I suspect that Washington would be a very different place after four years.

  2. One of the very few politicians that is worth dropping what one is doing and listening to.One of the very few politicians that is worth picking up a musket and marching with when the time comes.

  3. A delightful breath of fresh air in the politically ‘verklempt’ airspace that is Washington DC.
Trey Gowdy does the American people great service, by posing penetrating questions to those who would prefer to hoodwink the public into believing that they are providing ‘value’ to the public via government.
I enjoy him exposing the ‘Grubering’ of America.
    Merry Christmas!

  4. Goudy or Gohmert for Speaker would send a message to Obamasia and all his
    minions.
It may not help but I think they would know they were in a fight.

  5. I love this guy! I understand he’s a former district attorney and as such, knows how to ask penetrating questions; how to skewer a witness. I don’t watch a helluva lot of US news, but it seems the only place I see him is on conservative blogs. If the GOP had any ‘nads, they’d put him forward as Speaker, then have him run over all the wishy-washy retreads they’re putting forward for president. Just like the US doesn’t need another Clinton, they don’t need another Bush.
Maybe a Bobby Jindal-Trey Gowdy ticket?

  6. Yup, I’d vote for the son-of-a-bitch in a heartbeat.
But I just can’t see that the p**** would be much fun to sit down and have a qusrt with.

  7. I bailed at “this hollowed chamber”.
Oh – did he say hollow … ?
I dunno. I can’t be impressed by this political showbiz anymore.
    It’s Kabuki theatre.
Can you really think anything would change if he had power.
“A former district attorney who knows how to ask questions.”
Yeah, and how to convict innocents for career advancement maybe?
That last remark is generic. I have no info to specifically tag him with that smear.

  8. Trey Gowdy is a truly unique individual. My only question is why do some idiots think that adding annoying music to videos of the spoken word do anything but distract from the message?? I note that in this case the musical instrument is a banjo – is this to remind us that Mr. Gowdy is a southerner – to infer that his words somehow recall the movie “Deliverance” – although I find that hard to believe given that the video portrays him a very positive light.
Enough with the added music already – I note that the CFL and NFL both do this when commentators are speaking, often drowning out the dialogue and many TV dramas do likewise. And many times (as in the case of football games) the music is pure unadulterated crap which would never be heard otherwise.

  9. ^ This. Until Gowdy’s questions result in any actual prosecutions or meaningful change, this is just the circuses part of panem et circenses.

  10. hey Knight99/MND
“I have no info to specifically”
about covers the 2 of you on any given topic
if nothing else he points to a needed “standard” in governance

  11. Trey Gowdy for Attorney General!!! He’d kick butt in the Justice Department…

  12. Pepper! NME666—-A drive-by smear is a drive-by smear no matter how much post qualification or retraction takes place. Cheers;

I guess you would prefer he did not do his job on the committees he either Chairs or is a member of. Sure, let the greasy bastards he questions lie and obfuscate on the simple queries he poses. Yep the Obama regime, the most transparent government ever.

Despite admitting you have no proof, you thought it would be a great idea to throw this crap sandwich at Gowdy. You child are a pathetic coward.
Me No Dhimmi hates puppies and treats them poorly. Don’t get me started on his treatment of kittens. To quote Me No Dhimmi,

  14. “But I just can’t see that the p**** would be much fun to sit down and have a qusrt with.”
Yeah well, probably Sarah Palin could be lousy company as well….however when the job description is for an SOB…our SOB….then Gowdy appears to qualify…

  15. “probably Sarah Palin could be lousy company as well”
Doubt it. She’s a hunter. There’d be lots to talk about.

  16. Welcome to SDA, A Ziggen.
Oh, no, I don’t prefer that he not do his job.
He’s paid to do his job and most assuredly should do his job.
And admittedly he is a terrific Kabuki Theatre player. The best!
Get it dude: this is a theatrical set piece, signifying absolutely nothing.
I’m not impressed with all jobs done well.
I don’t know his conviction rate. I know Chris Christie’s was 100%, something that really impressed some folks who didn’t think through the implications of that stat and who also thought he was a conservative!
Conrad Black has a thing or two to say about that.

  17. They didn’t elect Miss Congeniality here. Mr. Gowdy is one no-nonsense dude and indeed asks the right questions. Problem is that there are no answers that the media deem newsworthy.

  18. All fine and good, but Gowdy is merely roasting the designated scapegoats.
Kabuki Theatre indeed. I’m not buying it until I hear a jail door slam behind these F-Wads.
    My $0.02

  19. Apparently, some think that a commitee of congress is just a TeeVee show.
While with politicians one has to be aware, this guy asks precise questions and expects precise answers.
The guy is not afraid to make the paper pushers uncomfortable who ever it may be, Lerner, Gruber, Holder or that apparatchik from IRA.
The thing is, unfortunately, that he would not be able to do that as a speaker or as a president.
He does do an excellent job as a commitee member, even as a chairman he would do good.

  20. I like the applause he gets from his fellow Representatives when he says what everyone is thinking.
He may not be able to steer the entire ship in the right direction, but you go to war with the army you’ve got, and he’s certainly not a member of the inner circle of near life long members, of that hallowed chamber.
As Hans said, he’s a breath of fresh air. More please, Trey…

  21. Exactly! And the USA is in dire need of a real SOB that Joe and Susy Schmoe can respect as telling it like it is in a few of the higher positions.
Breath of fresh air is right. Most of the rest are mealy mouthed weasels. We have one here leading the third party at the moment.

  22. It does feel odd hearing someone speaking without communist conviction.
    Maybe 2015 will be better.

  23. He sounds great.
    Does it matter?
Has one bad guy been demoted, or one good guy elevated, as a result of all the talk?

  24. For all those who think Gowdy is great…most American conservatives have pegged him as a “barking dog”. That’s all he does. He makes great theatre of the GOP chastising the Dems and their minions but that’s all he does…nothing ever happens after the tongue-lashing in front of the TV cameras.

  25. Gowdy is doing us all a service by exposing the scumbag
bureaucrats who make and carry out policy behind the
scenes with the attitude they are above and beyond the
law. I luv watching these overpaid egotists brought
down to reality although I think they are too obtuse
to be humiliated. However it makes my day to see them sit
in their chair with their mouths half open and that
stunned look on their face as they are brought to task
for mismanagement of their duties and office.

  26. Rep. Gowdy is but one of 435 members of the House, and far from the most senior. My sense is that he makes use of the opportunities he has to advance conservative ideas.

  27. Gowdy is a good man and a pleasure to watch in action. But I honestly don’t know what he has achieved for all his political theatre. Same holds true for Darrell Issa. An awful lot of huffing and puffing, but as far as I am aware they have yet to blow any Democrat house down.

  28. Gowdy voted in favor of the hated speaker. I am done with him, and all Republicans, so called.
