  1. If pulled over, your side of the conversation should consist of “Yes”, “No”, “Am I being Detained?” and “Am I free to go?”
Exactly true. Unpleasant as it might be, treating the cops with the respect of someone doing an unpleasant job, and not causing more trouble is always the best policy.

  2. Still miss Roy O. Best voice ever. Too bad he didn’t live long enough to be in this video. “I was alright – for awhile – I could smile for awhile………”

  3. “…fall pregnant?” That’s trying to make it sound like it’s something that accidentally happened to them like falling and breaking an arm. “I don’t know sir, I bent over to pick up the clipboard I dropped, it got slippery, and the next thing I knew I had fallen pregnant on the floor.”

  4. Guess those time outs didn’t work and not giving in to every temper tantrum might have been prudent. Other than that…..they look like a normal family.

  5. EBD: Re: Unthanksgiving.
What’s wrong with you!! Don’t you know that you never give thanks for what you’re entitled to!

  6. Pigs can’t fly.
    http://news.yahoo.com/pigs-fly-not-us-airways-plane-024352747.html
The pig was ordered off a U.S. Airways plane at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut on Wednesday after crewmembers determined the animal had become disruptive, …. The pig had been brought aboard the flight by a passenger as an emotional support animal…
What sort of cupid stunt needs a pig for an “emotional support animal” ?

  7. Trudeau ill-informed about Bill C-42 re guns

Scroll down or search “Polytechnique” on the page above.
    Mr. Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Lib.):
Mr. Speaker, as we approach the 25th anniversary of the Polytechnique tragedy, we are debating Bill C-42, which would allow dangerous weapons to be freely transported in a trunk of a car. Imagine if that car were broken into.
The bill also takes classification decisions on guns away from police and puts them in the hands of politicians.
Does the Prime Minister recognize how dangerous those clauses of the bill are?
Right Hon. Stephen Harper (Prime Minister, CPC):
Mr. Speaker, the statements made by the leader of the Liberal Party are completely false. The bill does not authorize the carrying of concealed weapons.
On the contrary, there is no “conceal and carry” in this legislation. The fact of the matter is that arms can only be transported between specific locations, and they must be taken by the most direct route. The firearms must be in a trunk, in a locked case, and must be unloaded. Those are the facts.
    Mr. Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Lib.):
Mr. Speaker, Bill C-42 would allow handguns and assault weapons to be freely transported in a trunk anywhere within a province, even left parked outside a Canadian Tire or local hockey arena. Imagine if the car carrying these weapons were broken into or stolen.
The bill also takes classification decisions on guns away from police, and puts them in the hands of politicians.
Both of these provisions threaten Canadians’ safety. Will the government remove them from Bill C-42?
Right Hon. Stephen Harper (Prime Minister, CPC):
Mr. Speaker, as I just said and I will repeat, the statements the Liberal Party leader has made are recklessly irresponsible and false. The fact of the matter is that under the current law and this proposed law, firearms can only be transported between specific locations. They must be in a locked case, they must be in a trunk, and they must be unloaded.
Those are the facts, but we expect this kind of distortion from the party that brought in the long gun registry and is itching to bring it back.

  8. Re: Crude oil!
A barrel of crude (today) sells for $67.25 US. A barrel is 42 US gallons. My Dad was a garage operator and we also sold bulk fuel and farm chemicals, I never saw a 42 gallon barrel. (35 Imperial gallons.) Most petroleum products were sold in 45 or 25 imperial gallon drums.
I’m told that the 42 gallon oil barrel originated in Pennsylvania in the late 1860’s. Crude oil, kerosene etc. was shipped in 40 gallon US whiskey drums, however some of the producers used slightly smaller drums (38 US gallons) thus buyers mistrusted the suppliers. Later on, some oil producers added two gallons to the standard 40 gallon whiskey drum to boost buyer confidence. (Think bakers dozen.)
The 42 US gallon became standard. $67.25 US is the price of West Texas Crude oil. There are several grades of crude. Oil refineries are always monitoring crude and it’s energy content, as much as weight or volume. One US gallon of crude (on average) is equal to about 1700 kilowatt hours of energy.

  9. Your link @ 10:00. Excellent post that tells us where we are at today. Megan Kelly’s show this evening discussed some of what Robert McCain writes about in his summation of today’s Liberalism.
Many good comments, but this caught my eye, “I think there is a real distinction between “classical liberalism” and what passes for liberalism today. Today’s brand is just Stalin’s brand of forced socialism dressed up in nicer clothes.”

  10. This weekend, keep an eye on CBC.ca, the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star and other Liberal publications and see how thy’re all trying to take the focus off the real problem. Liberal MPs who were suspended for sexual misconduct.
    Interesting!

  11. Guaranteed no Muslim with a boxcutter is gonna approach you with a pig at your side. Pigs ward off Muslims like garlic wards off vampires. If you’ve got a coil of Ukrainian Kiełbasa you’ve got both bases covered. (;D~

  12. Rifles don’t have to be in a locked case, only out of sight in a locked vehicle. In the trunk, they’re out of sight. They DO have to be unloaded.
I can drive from home with my rifles locked in the trunk to visit the Range, stop on the way for coffee or lunch, drive to a Buddy’s house, then home, all perfectly legal. Pistols require a permit to take them to a specific place, but not long guns.
Most cops don’t know the law,so it’s not surprising that most politicians don’t either, including the PM.

  13. US government running up debt faster than a Canadian credit card consumer:
    http://cnsnews.com/mrctv-blog/terence-p-jeffrey/ponzi-treasury-issues-1t-new-debt-8-weeks-pay-old-debt
Actually, faster. “U.S. Treasury has been forced to issue $1,040,965,000,000 in new debt since fiscal 2015 started just eight weeks ago in order to raise the money to pay off Treasury securities that were maturing and to cover new deficit spending by the government.”
Not quite a ponzi scheme imho, rolling over old debt is nothing new to governments; but rescheduling at higher rates 3,5 or 10 years from now could be disastrous. When interest rates rise, even a little, you’ll see a break for the exits that make Black Friday shopping riots seem tame in comparison, with resultant crushing of bond markets and so on.
IOW another crash, oh well – shit happens – been there done that. Wasn’t it 1998 and 2000 and another time when the market tanked? How will they sustain their operations in higher inflation, thus higher interest rate markets? Hint: they haven’t got a clue.
The problem for the US is they are postponing fiscal pain which can only worsen, because at even today’s low interest rates they are racking up unprecedented debt at the worst time. It is normal for debt to rise in low interest rate environments, but now the US has institutionalized their deficits into monster debt far above what would be prudent.
Their fellow statist Canadian cousins did the same thing to our economy during their hegemony culminating in Paul Martin crying uncle just before we hit the wall. PMSH has since taken the economic tiller and our prospects are bright.
The Dems should look at his economic record and the GOP should look at his political record. Neither do and both fail at what they do.
How long will it be before the US administration reaches the 90’s Canadian Liberal nexus of using new debt to support existing debt interest? Maybe they are there now.
This is a big problem. Then again maybe the free spending and borrowing boomers , ie- working, will bail their country out.

  14. “Mr. Justin Trudeau (Papineau, Lib.):
Mr. Speaker, Bill C-42 would allow handguns and assault weapons to ..”
“Right Hon.
They must be in a locked case, they must be in a trunk, and they must be unloaded.”
My response was not to Clive personally, but to the remarks he posted which were made by the two politicians, both of which are incorrect.
Both politicians refer to “firearms”,which includes all types, had they been specific, there would be no quibble. My point is that too many people in positions of power are NOT fully informed on the laws regarding firearms, and make erroneous statements such as those posted above.
Every person who holds a P.A.L. has to know these regulations, but a politician can make statements in parliament or to the media without even the basic knowledge the average gun owner must know.
I don’t blame the PM as he was closer to correct, and is NOT trying to restrict firearms ownership, (iow seize all our guns,) as the communist Trudeau IS.

  15. Not, this isn’t about the CBC protecting women from JG. It is about the CBC getting their other employees and management story out to the public before we hear the details in court. The CBC is doing what they do: protecting themselves. JG is no longer one of them.

  17. I just watched the Gomeshi show.
I find it odd that Gomeshi’s immediate boss, Ali something(QAIA member) is not part of the show. Oh yeah, he is brown and gay, a protected species in the progressive world.
It gets very interesting at about the 29 minute mark.
In my opinion, Chris Boyce is not being forthright, not at all. The CBC sat on the allegations of sexual assault and allowed it to continue.
The Mansbridge clip with Heather Conway and her use of the word ‘punch’ adds to that. She is focused on the word ‘punch’ while ignoring the allegations of choking, slapping, hair-pulling, and coerced fellatio.
    She is weaseling.
They should both be down on the UI line with Jian, Mansbridge too. Heck, why not … FIRE.THEM.ALL.
