The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected an appeal from Omar Khadr to wipe away his war crime convictions.
The Canadian-born, former Guantanamo detainee earlier killed a U.S. soldier in Afghanistan. Khadr, who was 15 at the time, allegedly threw the grenade that killed American special forces medic, U.S. Army Sgt. First Class Christopher Speer. The incident occurred after a firefight at a suspected al-Qaeda compound.
After pleading guilty to terrorism charges in 2010, Khadr waived his right to appeal. He received an eight-year prison sentence in addition to time already spent at Guantanamo Bay.
And yes, we’re still angry.

Does this apply to the recent past of 4 years jab fest, entirely sponsored, approved and promoted by gov’t across most of the world? Does “stay angry” apply to truck drivers honking horns? How about the folks angry at the federal gov’t for doubling the country’s debt in these past 5 years? The obvious immigration fiasco which continues to this day? We’re looking at 2 million new Canadians this year, and now there’s talk of the federal gov’t giving citizenship to those here illegally? That ought to help with the Canadian Anger Index !

Khadr was studying nursing, I think in Red Deer AB, he may have passed by now as it’s been a few years though I don’t know what his high school marks were like prior to entering nursing school.

As much as I agree with you, nothing of the kind will happen. The people who really run Canada won’t let it.
I would have stripped Khadr of his citizenship and sent him (in shackles) to America to face the music. This would have sent a message to international terrorists that you can’t get away pretending to be a 15 year old boy throwing hand grenades at medics. No $10 million. But hey, we’re the 33rd best country to live in so I’ll shut up.
What is uniquely depressing about this is case is that there was a serious case for charging Khadr with high treason (CC 46.3), based in his very presence on the battlefield.
When this is brought to the attention of former Liberal ministers they turn unhappily away.
Harper could have hammered this aspect, bashing the Liberals for allowing the time to lapse.
Canada has no statute of limitations. Just sayin’.
