  1. Lawrence Solomon: Ill winds blow from wind turbines
A Canadian court will soon decide if wind turbines violate Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms by posing a risk to human health. Charter case decisions can be convoluted but the fundamental question of health at issue here is straightforward. Wind turbines, from all that is today known and by any rational measure, represent a risk to those living in their vicinity.
Although the wind industry and its government backers tend to dismiss concerns, the evidence of harm in communities that host wind turbines is overwhelming. Literally thousands of people around the world report similar adverse health effects, some so serious that owners abandon their homes. Studies of noise from turbines — though few in number, short in duration, tentative in their findings and conducted by interested parties — point to dangers. As if these weren’t enough, basic science sounds the alarm on wind turbines.

  2. Brian, a few of my suggestions for the LPC. Also, here is a non-personal link http://www.liberal.ca/platform-consultation/
Financially irresponsible provincial governments should not be propped up with equalization payments.
Promote nuclear power. Canada has an excellent safety record.
Energy pipelines; our rail system is wearing out. We also need interprovincial transportation rights.
Although I won’t benefit from income splitting, the people that worked hard to earn the $2billion are the ones who should personally decide what to do with the money.

  3. Andrews has refused further comment. But sources familiar with the complaint have told The Canadian Press in Ottawa that an unnamed NDP MP alleges he victimized her within the past six months.
The sources say the alleged incident started at a social event on Parliament Hill before the woman, Andrews and Pacetti went to Pacetti’s office, where they drank some wine. Pacetti eventually left, leaving Andrews and the woman alone.
The sources say the woman alleges Andrews followed her home, forced his way through her door, pushed her against a wall, groped her and ground his pelvis against her. The sources say she says she ordered him to leave and he did.
The woman further alleges that Andrews repeatedly called her a
“c–kteaser” after the incident, according to the sources.
