We Don’t Need No Stinking Giant Fans

American Interest;

A Portland-based wind energy company is appealing to a U.S. district court to stop the Department of the Interior from releasing information about birds killed by wind turbines that would, the suit claims, cause “irreparable harm” to Pacificorp, which operates more than a dozen wind farms.

  1. Pretty hard to argue with them. The truth would do irreparable harm to the wind energy industry — on so many levels.

  2. Poor Warren Buffett!
    But since he’s a loyal Obama supporter, I’m guessing that somehow the judge will find a way to hide the truth about one of his big investments.

  3. didn’t we just do a thread on “release of confidential info”? So lets see what the “numchucks” who set up straw man arguments to counter my assertions, as to “confidentiality” in government, can drag out of their ill informed bags of nonsense on this one. AP shouldn’t even have to address a court to get this info. What is needed in the western world is more transparency. There is very little that needs to be done behind closed doors in a democracy. We don’t need secrecy to avert hurt feels, hid incompetence, or to use to subvert democracy, as is being done on a grand scale in todays world.

  4. That the truth may do ‘irreparable harm’ to a corporation (or person or political party) is all the more reason to release the truth, not to hide it. Like the Good Book says, “and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” The corollary to that is that not knowing the truth will keep you in slavery. I know what side I’m on.

  5. The maximum fine for killing a Bald Eagle is $5,000 or one year imprisonment,
    with $10,000,
    or not more than two years in prison for a second conviction.
    Felony convictions carry a maximum fine of $250,000 or two years of imprisonment.
    (The fine doubles for an organization.)

    Those fines are now just for us peons.
    Bird Chopper management know they are suspected in the killing of thousands of birds,
    and Millions of dollars in fines..

  6. Thought experiment: If the oilsands mines surrounded their tailing ponds with giant fans how many leftard heads would explode..?..

  7. Probably a good idea to aerate them , doesn’t need to be on the grid stable
    The greenie heads explosions would just be a bonus
