Sad day for Canada……………the shooter did get his just reward
The events of this week have nothing to do with our participation in the air campaign in Iraq, it is a result of the Politically Correct attitude of the Canadian Establishment. Why is no one asking who radicalized those unsettled individuals.
:`(
And to our friends and fellow citizens in the Muslim community, Canadians know acts such as these committed in the name of Islam are an aberration of your faith.
Justin Trudeau today to potential Muslim voters, the third frackin’ sentence – the third! – in his statement on today’s events.
Let’s not forget about Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent.
Speech from Prime Minister Stephen Harper:
My fellow Canadians, for the second time this week there has been a brutal and violent attack on our soil.
Today, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Corporal Nathan Cirillo of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.
Corporal Cirillo was killed today – murdered in cold blood – as he provided a ceremonial honour guard at Canada’s national war memorial.
That sacred place that pays tribute to those who gave their lives so that we can live in a free, democratic and safe society.
Likewise, our thoughts and prayers remain also with the family and friends of Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, who was killed earlier this week by an ISIL-inspired terrorist.
Tonight we also pray for the speedy recovery of the others injured in these despicable attacks.
Fellow Canadians, we have also been reminded today of the compassionate and courageous nature of so many Canadians, like those private citizens and first responders who came to provide aid to Corporal Cirillo as he fought for his life.
And, of course, the members of our security forces in the RCMP, the city of Ottawa police, and in parliament who came quickly, and at great risk to themselves, to assist those of us who were close to the attack.
Fellow Canadians, in the days to come, we will learn more about the terrorist and any accomplices he may have had.
But this week’s events are a grim reminder that Canada is not immune to the types of terrorist attacks we have seen elsewhere around the world.
We are also reminded that attacks on our security personnel and our institutions of governance are, by their very nature, attacks on our country.
On our values, on our society, on us, Canadians, as a free and democratic people who embrace human dignity for all.
But let there be no misunderstanding, we will not be intimidated. Canada will never be intimidated.
In fact, this will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts and those of our national security agencies, to take all necessary steps to identify and counter threats, and keep Canada safe here at home.
Just as it will lead us to strengthen our resolve and redouble our efforts to work with our allies around the world and fight against the terrorist organizations who brutalize those in other countries with the hope of bringing their savagery to our shores.
They will have no safe haven.
While today has been, without question, a difficult day, I have every confidence that Canadians will pull together with the kind of firm solidarity that has seen our country through many challenges.
Together, we will remain vigilant against those, at home or abroad, who wish to harm us.
For now, Laureen, Ben, Rachel, and I join all Canadians in praying for those touched by today’s attack.
May God bless them, and keep our land glorious and free.
Our deepest condolences to Cpl. Nathan Cirillo’s family and loved ones.
RIP Sir.
I have to share something I noticed about PMSH’s statement coverage by CBC. I got home just before PMSH began to speak and just got online. I was on twitter and live streaming the CBC coverage. Listened while I read twitter and noticed twitter commenters were quoting stuff I wasn’t hearing. Later on someone shared a link promoted by Peter Mansbridge that has Harper’s entire statement.
Puzzle me this…Why did CBC edit PMSH’s statement in what they represented as a real time event..?..
I don’t really want to comment too much on yesterday’s and today’s events that have led to the death of two Canadian soldiers and frustrated millions of Citizens across this great land. We don’t yet know the full details of the attacks. May the Victims’ rest in peace.
The day reminded me a lot of the October crisis of 1970. Today, I heard a commentator on CTV News Channel that linked yesterday and today’s attacks to Canada’s involvement with bombing ISIS positions in Iraq.
From 1963 to 1970, Quebec terrorists operating under the name of Front de Libération du Québec (FLQ) began bombing mailboxes and other Quebec locations in the years that led to the kidnapping of James Cross (British trade commissioner) and Pierre Laporte, Quebec minister of labour. And guess what folks. Canada was not at war with Quebec. Yet over 95 bombs were detonated by the FLQ in that time period.
Laporte was murdered while in captivity, although some news sources have since denounced that fact claiming that he died accidentally when he was strangled in a moment of panic. Cross was later released without physical harm.
One thing I do recall clearly is that we were able to place our political differences aside and do what was right. And that was to send the Army into Quebec and arrest FLQ members. Then PM Pierre Elliot Trudeau and Governor General of Canada Roland Michener introduced the War Measures Act that gave the Army and police sweeping powers Over 495 Quebecois were arrested and questioned, all but 62 were later later released. The majority of Canadian supported the Trudeau administration for their efforts against the FLQ.
I believe the Trudeau administration and the province of Quebec however failed badly when they allowed the kidnappers safe passage to Cuba in a Canadian Forces Aircraft. The Cdn Army (my opinion) should have opened the door and given them a free fall over the Atlantic. Negotiating with terrorists is poor policy. But then that was the Canada we knew back then..
I hope that in the days that come, PM Harper will take a tough stand and clean house.
Syncrodox, the version I posted above was just sent to me from Conservative Party offices.
EBD, amen to your prayer.
It is sad that Canadian governments have planted the poison of Islam within our homeland. The nation has a cancer. What are the options leading to a cure?
CBC did not play the entire statement in real time on their “livestream”.
Can you imagine this speech made by Justine Turdeau instead of our Prime Minister? Me neither, Justine would be too busy groveling for the Muslin vote to ever make a speech that may not be approved of in the Mosques of the country.
The best way to honour the deceased is to ensure this never again occurs. Soldiers and police should be properly garbed and armed, no immigration from Islamist countries unless the immigrant is Yazidi or Christian and call this for what it is: Islamist terrorism.
Trudeau would troll in hell for votes. If people aren’t disgusted by Trudeau in general, let alone his rancid comments as of late, we have not done our level best to ostracise Liberal voters for being the ill-bred trash that they are.
There- I said it.
They are partially the reason why this country is being run into the ground.

Actually it was the military brass in Quebec that requested off duty soldiers to not wear uniforms. http://tinyurl.com/onta7bz
You know, the French, Liberal voting, surrender monkeys in our midst who loves them some jihadists.
I’m betting the men who are guarding the same War Memorial in Ottawa today are still wearing their uniforms, how could it be otherwise?
Since it’s been recognized that publically wearing a uniform is like wearing a target for Muslims, it should also be recognized that these men need to be armed with real working loaded rifles.
Furthermore, since most of the public are unaware that these men are actually unarmed but still look as though they are armed, why should they not be really, in fact, armed?
Additionally, IS has told Jihadis the world over that they should be targeting our police too.
Should our police not be wearing their uniforms in public and armed as well, or should they be like our soldiers, no uniform and no guns?
I’ll quit now before I burst my spleen. OW! My spleen.
“Additionally, IS has told Jihadis the world over that they should be targeting our police too. Should our police not be wearing their uniforms in public and armed as well…?”
Absolutely, if being armed and uniformed creates an increased risk to our police. Likewise, if IS instructs jihadists to target women walking alone in public, Canadian women should stay home unless they’re in a group or with their lawfully wedded husbands. If IS tells jihadists to target the Christian infidels, no one should go to church.
These things are common-sense public safety issues. We can go back to normal as soon as the Islamist threat is completely eliminated on a worldwide basis.
Oz is correct, EBD is mistaken. Our military should be in uniform and armed if they are in a situation where the threat is real. We should not cower and hide like cowards. The Israelis know how to deal with terrorists, we should follow their example.
EBD was just gassing. Not serious. You’ll have to learn light sarcasm as a human trait or people will take you for a sociopath. By now, you should know EBD’s stance on issues well enough to gauge.
