  3. I WANT THE AR15 REMOVED FROM THE RESTRICTED LIST.
    FFS – we finally have a ‘do it all’ gun. Swap the upper out with a couple pins, replace it with one in 458 SOCOM – and you have a cracking good close range big game gun. Swap it out for 6.5 Grendel or the 6.8mm and you have a great intermediate target gun. Put the standard 5.56 upper on and you are whacking gophers or talibangers or other filthy pests!
    Oh well. The M1A is a fine gun too.

    Then put a longer barrel on it. Yes ARs with barrels long enough are already unrestricted and legal to hunt with. As for all those unobtainable, flavour of the month, ultra expensive and rare cartridges, feel free to keep them.

My Brother and I are currently debating what PM Trudeau will do about the terrible social menace of guns; Bro figures Trudeau will seize ’em all within a short time after being elected on a tidal wave of hope,optimism, he ain’t Harper, and isn’t he cute,whereas I believe he will slowly strangle us through more specific gun bans, tons of new regulations, and a campaign to make it much more difficult and expensive to obtain a PAL.
    God, I’m sick of media and “educated” class ignorance on guns.
    Hunting season starts in a couple of weeks, will definitely hit the boonies for what may be one of the last few hunting seasons we’ll ever get.

    YES !! Anyone who wants to use a firearm should have one. In some jurisdictions it’s required ID for a hunting license.

  10. Sorry Colonista.. but you’re wrong, any and all variants of the AR 15 are restricted. I know, because I wanted to buy a Remington R-25 in .308.. nope, can’t use it for hunting, its a range queen only.

  11. Liberal candidates during federal elections in the past have pledged to used Oreders in Council to ban handguns with the stroke of a pen. To think they won’t go after everything else would be foolish. And once they take away the guns they will go for other important things. Freedom of speech, freedom of association, your house, your land, your finances, everything. The left wants to turn Canada into Cuba or East Germany. The first step is to remove your ability to stop them.

  15. I suppose you are right. I know you can get a lot of evil black riffles unrestricted, AR-180B from Wolverine for example (no really an AR). WZ-58 with a sufficiently long barrel also belonged on that list. Thought same applied to ARs but a casual look at store offers seems to confirm your claim. I stand corrected.

  18. I had a 12 gauge shotgun and a 22 when I was a kid. I learned how to fire the shotgun, safely, from my grandfather. I was 13. no licences and very few restrictions, such as don’t be shooting in town limits. I could buy ammo at the local hardware store and no i.d. was necessary. times have changed but we are no safer now than we were then. we are in more danger today but it is not from gun owners.

  20. There isn’t a media zombie that would know caliber from canola – dumb as hammers about an issue they profess expertise in – like most other things they advocate or pontificate on.
    Gun control has always been a prog code word for civil disarmament and police state subjugation – essentially, the advocacy of a state monopoly on the use of defensive armed force. End goal is to make the only justified use of armed defense for the continuity of the socialist police state.
    The kind of firearm in the hands of the law abiding public is irrelevant to the agenda behind gun control so those who advocate gun control (AKA civil disarmament/subjugation) do not educate themselves on the technicalities used to deploy gun confiscation and public control – As far as they’re concerned all guns must be removed from civilian domination incrementally, one “type” at a time – owners must be harassed with relentless oppressive state regulatory force, injustice and indignities that they will willingly give up their right to arms – so called “gun control” is a fascist/authoritarian impulse and it is deeply engrained in police politics, statist socialism and the perfidious media which have sold the free nation out to these agendas.
    That said, your personal choice of firearm for self defense or sporting purposes is moot and the only government/state/special interest this would alarm is one which has nothing but malevolent contempt for free empowered citizens and/or your total subservience to the state or their agendas.

    Barrett MRAD in .338 Lapua. Its a bolt gun. Perfectly, fabulously legal. I can have one anytime I like, assuming I can pony up the $5k. It can break an engine block at 800 yards. Not as harsh as its .50BMG big brother, but more accurate.
    Also functionally identical to great-granddad’s bolt action .303 Enfield, despite the eeeeevile skeletonized stock, black frame and Picatinny rails all over it. Just the thing to get any journo’s knickers in a twist. Its a SNIPER WEAPON!!!!! Otherwise known as a moose gun painted black, and everybody knows it.
    I think its a measure of the frantic panic that’s descended on the Media Party that they continue to beat this dead horse. Gun control is deader than the Passenger Pigeon. The extinct pigeon may yet be revived by DNA wizardry, there is no such hope for gun control.
    But my friends, Rob Freakin’ Ford is gaining in the polls for Toronto mayor. All these pansy journalists live in Toronto. They are willing to riot to keep Fat Boy out of the mayor’s office.

  22. We live 19km from every population centre. The local outlets for most things have closed as the Family farms must have a family member work off the farm to survive. Many of the children have left for the easier city life their friends at the consolidated high schools have. City folks do not understand stress compared to family wealth tied up in seed, fertilizer, and yes pesticides.
    A while back it took the consolidated Police Force 2 hours and 47 minutes to respond to shots being fired out our way at a house.
    A neighbour and friend approaching his eighties spotted a dog heading to his Son’s house. Now this friend has made written complaints to local and consolidated authorities about this animal.A family from the city let’s it run wild
    I don’t mean out in the family’s back or side yard, rural folks know how to keep animals trained to stay on the property with or without a fence. The dog chases bicyclers and people walking by and is known to have bitten people, including children. A gubberment person came out from the consolidated government and a fence was put up along the front and sides of the acre lot. No fence along the bush at the back. I guess the gubberment person would never go into a bush, too dangerous, so why would a dog?
    In any case when my neighbour and friend saw this dog walk out of the bush and head to where his small grandchildren were playing in their backyard, he grabbed his 12 gauge loaded with birdshot went out and in spite of his age, cut the animal off and gave it a some birdshot. the dog ran to his home. Wounded but alive and treatable.
    It must have been a slow day at the consolidated police station because within a half hour there were two large constables at my friends house, they handcuffed this grandfather and took him into custody. His shotgun was confiscated.
    It took a year or more before my friend, released on bail with travel restrictions, had his day in court. He was remonstrated, there was a significant local outcry, and acquitted. They kept his shotgun.
    During the waiting period for the trial a large policeman came to house of the dog’s owner to advise him to completely fence in his property. As the Police officer stood at the front fence gate with his hand on his gun’s handle he told the dog’s owner to confine his dog before the police officer came into the property.
    Don’t blame the police constables, they are only following policy. I guess food from foreign lands is all that is needed in Canada’s Urban areas, because Canada’s farmers are not recognized in Ontario’s policies. Votes from the many does not mean good policy, it just means job security for the weak and unfortunately self seeking political/bureaucratic culture.

    Granddad’s mistake here was using bird shot. .00 or slugs, then shovel and shut up. A quiet Glasgow Kiss for Mr. Dog Owner wouldn’t go amiss either.

  27. Colionista, agree completely and I make it well known that following orders blindly is something only robots do. At least in the US there is a constitution which limits state tyranny and organizations like the oathkeepers who will refuse to engage in unconstitutional actions.
    Time to start buying plastic pipe again and waterproofing agents for rifles in case the Lieberals are elected in Canada. The good thing about C68 is that the vast majority of gun owners only registered a fraction of their firearms aware of the possibility of confiscation.
    Have rejoined the NFA as a result of this demonstration of MSM idiocy and ordered one of the evil T-shirts. I like the “no compromise” line the NFA is now taking and it’s time to get as aggressive as possible with hoplophobes and show them that one can make their lives a living hell without the use of a gun.

Crossbow,hunting tipped bolts.Silent and deadly at up to two hundred yards.Myself and a buddy go hunting year round for deer and moose,on private land with permission,although he does prefer a compound bow.200 lb draw.Doesn,t matter though.Silent and deadly.No noise to arouse the local RCMP brown shirts.

  30. I had no idea crossbows had such range,figured they’d be like bows, good up to 50 or 60 yards.
    Can you recommend a particular brand of crossbow,JT? I’ve been thinking of getting one for years but thought they were too short ranged.

CZ 527 varmint kevlar, set trigger, stock built by HS Precision (before they Zumboed themselves), topped the Burris Ballistic Plex 4.5-14×42 and a Harris bipod, .223 rem, will shave mosquito’s testicles at 300 yards without castrating him, Don’t have to dream about it, have it, the whole combo set me back 1.6K.
    On an unrelated note: if anyone worries about a challenge to police state they better worry about precision shooting unrestricted riffles fired from few hundred yards away from the target… just sayin, that’s all.
