Well of course the zombie horde has no concept of how to replace the prosperity provided by the energy resource they want to collapse – it isn’t about logic, civility or empathy – it’s about greenie tantrum taking diaper wetters getting their way and their uber-class oligarch bosses getting richer at the expense of average Canadians.

  2. So if the Liberals get in again, it’s obvious that this “province” isn’t paying it’s fair share of equalization payments. Alberta is, and Saskatchewan is, but the oilsands are too big to be taxed only once (thrice, five times, etc).
    If it moves, tax it. If it still moves, regulate it. Repeat as necessary. When it stops moving, subsidize it.

I had my suspicions the article would find a way to interject “climate change” into a large portion of the article and of course I was right.   4. It is amazing how the thinking goes. The Methane Seeps in the Gulf of Mexico, which has been happening for ?? is accompanied by appropriate bacteria. It is this longstanding natural bacterial action which quickly cleared up the Gulf oil spill from the drilling rig explosion.
    Very little of the Billions of $ spent cleaned up the oil. The bacteria already there did the job. All that was accomplished by the excessive spillover of Tax Payer $ was to establish a new scam opportunity and to line the pockets of the legal un-professional. Cheers;

    Seems the people providing funding to our fake activists, are heavily invested in oil plays in direct competition to Canada’s oil.
    Just as the picket lines and blockades vanished when MacMillan Blodel was sold to their USA competitor,to BC’s economic detriment, I expect once the Oil Sands are acquired at a discount by their forging competitors this funding will vanish.
    Economic treason as I see it.
    That we give charitable status to money laundering schemes, which actively fund our useful idiots and scammers.. leaves me extremely dubious of the intelligence of our own kleptocrats.

    also there is 20000 ft of cretaceous sediment before you get to the Jurassic , one huge amount of hydrocarbons , its a sub ducting system with huge faults and leak points everywhere.

  10. Short term, landlocked Oilsands make Canadian economy very vulnerable to oil price fluctuations. Only a pipe from sea to sea to sea can mitigate the situation.

    Two things you may want to consider here:
    1 – the Canadian action party is a front for the communist party of Canada. Are you sure you want to publish something suggesting a google search that leads directly to them?
    2 – the more foundational problem with the real action canada plan here is that the people who consider economic development and jobs important are already on side. The opposition, occupiers and billionaires like Steyer, don’t value either one: the majority have no jobs, live off their parents or the state, and disdain any need to earn a living – the minority has billions and is totally disconnected from the reality of jobs and the need for economic opportunity.
    3 – if you want to do something useful, talk to the people who made this ad, and tell them that preaching to the converted creates no converts.

  14. Anyone who is actually concerned about GreenHouseGasses should not buy anything from China or America. China produces 30% of the world’s GHGs, and America produces 15%, Canada produces 2%, the oilsands operations contributes only 0.15% of the world’s GHGs. Any big city dumps more pollution and creates more wasteland than the oilsands mining and processing.

I could not agree more with the above, I have zero doubt that if this part time drama teacher who believes that budgets can balance themselves gets elected that this country as we know it is doomed. There is no doubt that he will be looking to the west as Ottawas cash cow and this is something that the Western Provinces will not accept. Therefore we will probably see a situation whereby the West will be in favor of separation and Quebec will be advocating the exact opposite because someone has to pay to support their lifestyle. In the meantime this bumbling idiot will make a laughing stock of this country in the eyes of the rest of the world. Contrary to Canadas bought and paid for media his daddy was considered a useless self important jerk by nearly all other World Leaders other than Castro and a few other Communist/Socialist dictators.

  20. Slight problem for the oil industry coming up. A disruptive technology maybe? A company called Blacklight Power has developed a unit called a “SunCell” which converts hydrogen to electricity. If it operates as advertised there will be changes for everyone on earth.

    That’s hilarious, are they located in Nigeria? To make hydrogen one has to waste electricity, and converting H2 back to electricity is even more wasteful.
    Except in applications like space, it’s always more efficient to use the electricity directly than store it as hydrogen. Even storing electricity in lead-acid batteries is more efficient and less wasteful than hydrogen.
