It depends what you mean by “fail”. Here in the states, Blue Media are complete failures at giving their readers/watchers a balanced view of the world. Folks who rely completely on them for “news” have a radically distorted view of almost everything. There is a lot of important stuff they just don’t hear about. Our media are also economic failures. Their readerships/ratings have been dropping steadily for years as truth-seekers find other venues for information.
Where the media here have been very successful, though, is in helping the left win elections. By highlighting or even inventing Republican failures and hiding Democrat ones, they have made America a much more left-wing country than it would have been if they were honest. Republican “scandals” are covered incessantly and played as systemic failures. Democrat failures are either minimized as localized events or ignored completely. FEMA’s failures at Hurricane Katrina are “Bush’s fault”, but a rogue IRS is just a couple people in Cincinnati. When I assign blame for the present decline of our country, the miserable bastards in the media are at the top of my list.

The media has helped the progressives to take over almost every city council in the country and relentlessly denigrates any conservative mayors.

– $10 billion in gas tax for Quebec; (as if annual transfer payments aren’t enough)
– five billion dollars for jails
– ‘billions of dollars each year to bailout government employee pension plans’ (source: CTF)
– subsidies for Ford and Toyota, successful auto companies
– $400 million to combat greenhouse gases overseas
– 30 additional seats for the House of Common(parasite)s
– $10 million in payment to Maher Arar
Correction: Gas tax for Quebec amounts to $5 billion.
