  1. What utter weak-kneed drivel from that British Brxxd, Fortunately women’s hockey is in fine form in North America and is widely appreciated by true fans of the world’s great game.

  2. So when I watched the women’s team win gold at Sochi I erased the male half of humanity and a few days later I erased the female half by watching the men’s gold medal game. I didn’t know that paying attention to one group of people was an act of genocide.

  3. Yes there’s nothing more exciting than watching Olympic medal matches knowing that either side would be crushed by any decent junior A team. Each to their own I guess.

  4. Can’t say those are the right reasons for it being anti-feminist for watching the World Cup without women players, but this might explain why there is no plan to integrate soon. lol

  6. Well no worse than most other countries but when the government of one level or another takes half your earnings by force before you get to spend a dime; well not exactly a place worth fighting for.

  7. “Is it anti-feminist to watch the World Cup?”
I’ve been ignoring the World Cup as hard as I possibly can, because soccer offends me. No screaming engines, no flying dirt, not even any hitting. Its a wussy sport for girlymen.
But if watching soccer on TV is anti-feminist, and if me watching it hurts the poor gentle flowers like Silvia Murray Wakefield, “London-based feminist and mother of two”…
…I’m going to have to hold my nose and tune in. Worth it for the consternation and uproar it causes the Special Snowflake Brigade, may Confusion be upon them. And boils.
By the way. Just as an aside, is it even possible to say “feminist” and “mother of two” in the same sentence? Isn’t motherhood inherently anti-feminist? I mean, even artificial insemination involves those nassssty little tadpoles that come from [ew!] Men, right?
    Inquiring minds wanna know.

  8. In the minds of many of these witches, just being a male is off limits. But I like the fact that it is so easy to piss them off. They can be baited without a fishing line. All it takes is a simple hook. When they bite, we sit back and laugh.

  9. “but practice calling out “get in there, girl!” – for the sheer subversive amusement if nothing else…”
Say she does seem to know something about soccer after all.
