Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Ukraine has captured three Russian military intelligence officers and estimates there are at least 100 more Russian military personnel directing unrest in eastern Ukraine, says Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, director of Ukraine’s national security service.
“We detained three GRU officers,” Nalyvaichenko said Tuesday, referring to the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate by its Russian acronym. “They are being interviewed in Kiev and have given us very important information and evidence.”

If you can’t figure out how to use the jack…
Glad to see the Saudis able to do it themselves – instead of hiring foreigners to do it.
As easy as riding a bicycle when there is no frost heave or potholes. Impressive nonetheless.
Is this illegal?
if so, How illegal is it? Is it like running a red light? or is like, a race crime?
Is it against the law for a white man to befriend a couple of status Indians and sit down, pound some whiskey back, then buy the man’s house on the Indian Reserve for… let’s say, $500… then lift from the foundation and move the house across the lake to waterfront property? Let’s say for example, “Round Lake, Saskatchewan” Then live in that house for a decade and sell it for + $300,000. ?
I don’t see what difference it makes if the house was in flood plane. The house my ex father in law bought was at the top of the valley, he paid the individuals, not the band. Is the house “band property”? or is it legal to buy them every few years from individuals living on the Indian Reserve?
My ex sister in law said in her perfect ex sister in law snarl, “shhhh” to my ex wife while my ex wife told me about this.
Kinda curious if my ex-father in law broke the law here… š They were all NDP’ers and publicly they love everyone, unless you’re rich… He offered the book, “Touched by Tommy” to me when I first met him. I politely declined.
What’s the statute of limitations, the time limit on something like this?
I’d hate to see my ex father in law GO BACK to jail, or my ex wife to lose her inheritance from him when he croaks.
š
I’m being serious…
The house my ex father in law bought wasn’t condemned, it was just, a normal Indian Reserve house, about 900 feet, 2 bdrm, 1 bathroom. It looks ok on lakefront property on Round Lake, Sask. though…
He fixed it up some…
Mid island mike: I was on the phone, at my desk, when the living room and kitchen started to move back and forth, and the hanging light was swaying crazily. I got underneath the desk, which is a heavy solid old thing, and waited for the quake to stop. After that I went outside, where a group had gathered. This quake felt stronger than the last one, which was 7.3.

Very sad. This is what happens when Obama voters cannot afford guns.

“Ont. Liberal insiders paid millions in public funds”
“Public accounts for 2013-14, the first year in which Kathleen Wynne was in the premierās office, have not yet been released. However, by reviewing the public accounts from 2003-04 through 2012-13, and speaking with sources in or around government during that time, The Globe and Mail has gained insight into how the funds were spent during Mr. McGuintyās time in office.”
“Between 2004-05 and 2008-09, contracts adding up to $383,249 were paid to SEAK Communications ā a company registered to Suzanne Amos, who was then the wife of Liberal campaign strategist Warren Kinsella. In 2009-10, around the time the marriage of Mr. Kinsella and Ms. Amos ended, payments that cumulatively totalled $262,355 started being made to West Bay Communications ā a company registered to Mr. Kinsella, but not the one through which he usually does business.”

Re: Keystone XL
My comments got caught in the filter yesterday; but I’d still like to comment on the “delay”; and the political ‘big picture’.
The political ‘end game’ is clear for the Democrats; and I’m surprised that I’m first(I think) to put things together(I beat Rush to it):
Obama will postpone all decisions on Keystone XL until the end of his Presidency; so, that Hillary Clinton can(and will) run on building the pipeline; making her a viable candidate as a ‘job creator’ when she runs for President.
In other words, she will steal the GOP’s arguing points right from under them(similar to what PMSH did to Dion regarding AGW); including ‘fixing Obamacare’, as the GOP has already abandoned the ‘repeal Obamacare’ meme; because theyāve drank the MSM Kool-Aid.
So, the GOP will run on 1) building Keystone XL(so will Hillary); 2) fixing Obamacare(so will Hillary); 3) Reducing the Deficit (so will Hillary)(remember, Obama and the Dems are āDeficit hawksā). This will leave the GOP with absolutely nothing to run-on except for being ‘old and white’ and all of the rhetorical baggage that comes with that.
In 2016 the question at the polls will be: why not vote for the first woman POTUS if the policy platforms are the same? At least sheās not an āold white-guy, racist, homophobe, Islamaphobe, anti-science knuckle-dragging-dog tying to the car roof- binder full of b*tches having, Gaia hater.(and donāt think nominating a black-man will remedy this, as he will simply be a: Self-loathing, Uncle Tom, homophobe, Islamaphobe, anti-science knuckle-dragging-dog tying to the car roof- binder full of b*tches having, Gaia hater; and, if they nominate a woman⦠well, sheāll just be a stupid-sluut.)
Heck, if I believed the MSM propaganda, Iād probably vote for the first woman President too. All things being (ahem) equal of course.
Approval for the Keystone XL pipeline will be granted shortly after Hillary’s inauguration; which will give her enough positive forward momentum and political clout to sustain her through-out her 8 year mandate; including passing Climate Change taxes.
Quite frankly, the Dems running the show are brilliant politicians, who unlike the GOP, understand the voting public; and, unlike the GOP, are playing the long-game (16 year plan), while the GOP canāt see past the noses on their faces. Mark my words.
In closing, the Americans desperately need what Iāve been suggesting to my conservative American friends for 5 years: the American Reform Party; although they canāt see it. The bottom line isā¦even though it will take the better part of 2 decades for the new party to coalesce (like they did in Canada); theyāve got plenty of time (like we did in Canada); as theyāve absolutely NO HOPE of winning any Presidential election for the next 16 years(just like the old Progressive Conservatives). Unless, of course, Sarah Palin wins the GOP nomination; as she is the only āGame Changerā the GOP has(we Canadians didnāt have one of those). JMO

“Tom Steyer was for coal before he was against it.”
āHypocrisy & Hedge Funds: Climate Change Warrior Tom Steyerās Secret Life as Coal Investment Kingpin.ā
“Billionaire hedge fund operator and āgreenā energy magnate Tom Steyer has pledged $100 million in the 2014 election cycle to help Democratic candidates who oppose the Keystone pipeline and who favor āgreenā energy over fossil fuels. Steyer claims to be a man of principle who has no financial interest in the causes he supports, but acts only for the public good. That is a ridiculous claim: Steyer is the ultimate rent-seeker who depends on government connections to produce subsidies and mandates that make his āgreenā energy investments profitable. He also is, or was until recently, a major investor in Kinder Morgan, which is building a competitor to the Keystone pipeline. Go here, here, here, here, here and here for more information about how Steyer uses his political donations and consequent connections to enhance his already vast fortune.
But Steyerās hypocrisy goes still deeper. Today, he is a bitter opponent of fossil fuels, especially coal. That fits with his current economic interests: banning coal-fired power plants will boost the value of his solar projects. But it was not always thus. In fact, Steyer owes his fortune in large part to the fact that he has been one of the worldās largest financers of coal projects. Tom Steyer was for coal before he was against it.
A reader with first-hand knowledge of the relevant Asian and Australian markets sent us this detailed report on how Steyer got rich on coal. He titled his report āHypocrisy & Hedge Funds: Climate Change Warrior Tom Steyerās Secret Life as Coal Investment Kingpin.ā Here it is, in full:”

Many, many years ago I began a chronological history of RAF station 31 near my hometown which trained F.A.A. pilots 1940-45. I kept laying it aside for other research and to date have co-authored a book about the men on our town cenotaph (in its second printing) and a new book of WWI letters from the front will be launched on May 3rd.
Seeing I won’t be 85 for much longer, I decided to concentrate on the airport history and my grandson has put it on a website for me this week. Hopefully, soon I’ll have Business Depot print a few copies for those who are demanding a print copy.
Keep young forever is my motto, but also rest. Which is what I’ll do for the next 10 years I hope.
Kate’s SDA has contributed to keeping me young I firmly believe. Thanks Kate.
Reagan sucked and Rand Paul is smart enough to call him on it (see video).
(Not written by RP): After trimming some programs early in his presidency, Reagan came around to pushing massive increases on just about everything, including education (a newly formed federal department he promised to kill upon taking office), Medicare (which he had denounced as “socialized medicine” in the early 1960s), and Social Security (before championing massive hikes in payroll taxes in his second term, he had once called for making Social Security voluntary).
Starting in 1983, revenue increased every year under Reagan, but so did spending…leading to a tripling of the national debt on the Gipperās watch.

The Drudge Report just couldn’t help itself Thursday after pictures began surfacing from President Obama’s trip through the Asia-Pacific region.
While at the Miraikan Science Expo in Tokyo, Obama got the chance to meet the latest version of ASIMO, Honda’s humanoid robot that can speak and do very lifelike things. Obama and the robot even kicked around a soccer ball together.
So naturally, when Drudge saw this picture of the President bowing to the robot as a sign of respect, he decided to have some fun with it.

That is exactly what I said.
The US needs a new Reform Party, which will be ready to win in two election cycles from now(based on the Canadian timeline).
There is absolutly NO RISK as the GOP doesn’t have a chance in H.E.double-hockeysticks; unless, perhaps, S.Palin is the nominee.
It reminds me of my daugher’s softball game this week where the opposing pitcher got in a rut and walked about 10 straight batters. At that point I said aloud “the coach needs to pull that girl outta there” to which someone said “they don’t have another pitcher” to which I said “you don’t need a “pitcher” to throw balls”. They should have pulled that girl so as not to discourage her going foward.
What say you about the prediction that Hillary will “run on approving the XL pipeline”?

“Extreme Times”
“I read a curious statement on the web yesterday, and I donāt remember where. If the author wishes to claim priority, hereās your chance. The author said (paraphrasing):
If youāre looking at any given time window on an autocorrelated time series, the extreme values are more likely to be at the beginning and the end of the time window.
āAutocorrelationā is a way of measuring how likely it is that tomorrow will be like today. For example, daily mean temperatures are highly auto-correlated. If itās below freezing today, itās much more likely to be below freezing tomorrow than it is to be sweltering hot tomorrow, and vice-versa.
Anyhow, being a suspicious fellow, I thought āI wonder if thatās true ā¦ā. But I filed it away, thinking, I know thatās an important insight if itās true ⦠I just donāt know why ā¦
Last night, I burst out laughing when I realized why it would be important if it were true ⦠but I still didnāt know if that was the case. So today, I did the math.”
