His statement of theology is incorrect. There is nothing of us that is good, no matter how deep you dig. Any good in us is of God’s grace.
Yeah well, I have long held that European superiority is beyond debate.
Over a period of a coupla centuries, despite the odd blunder, European brought/distributed rule of law, modern nutrician, modern communication and until recently had almost eliminated slavery…..not Africans, South Asians, Oriental etc….Europeans.
Those despised European colonialists did a lotta right stuff for the right reasons…..from time to time, right stuff for the wrong reasons and some bad stuff with good intent.
Yeah, it was whites who invented DDT and nearly exterminated malaria but it was white freaks who banned DDT,for political reasons.
Yeah whites purchased black slaves from arabs and took them to the Americas….but arabs enslaved 2-3 times as many whites and are still running black slaves.
Yeah whites gave African colonies back to their people too early, then stood righteously by and watched them return to the darkness of tribalism, genocide and cannibalism…..
On the balance white Europeans did more good than harm…
Molyneaux is a national treasure – we need more libertarian thought integrating into the public dialogue.
In this blub he identifies the triumvirate of advancing civilization and the human condition –
A) a philosophy which seeks truth as an outcome,
B) inquisitive science based in logical method and innovative execution, and –
C) a free market to create widespread wealth and technology.
He explodes fallacious concept of “white privilege” by pointing to the factual matter that human development is a matter of culture not race – and- that the although other cultures have excelled at one or 2 of the developmental triumvirate (some at none), it is the northern European cultures which excelled at all 3 which propelled this culture to the fore front of social development – and through colonization spread enlighten development (as the Romans did previously with the un enlightened cultures they colonized). It ain’t about race and redistributing the goodies according to race (as oafy crony commies would have us believe) – it’s about advancing as a culture through the freedom to excel at these 3 basic building blocks of civilization.
Please note Molyneax did not include politics, or government or bureaucracy or enforced order in the primary motivators of development – primarily because all of these are instruments of tyranny or oppression which have historically retarded cultural development – and they attract the predatory/parasitic human who then uses these to oppress/exploit the creative human – and thus it has always been.
Our species has predators. In the past they wielded swords and murdered anyone that opposed their will, today they own the political/economic systems of modern society and use them to prey on us like a herd of cattle – and, as Molyneaux says, they have conditioned us to worship the fist which is beating us. We are pathetic compared with our ancestors who recognized predatory authority and did battle with it to give us freedom – which we pxss away for a ‘bamaphone or a meagre handout of cash stolen from us in the first place. We have lost the ability to recognize and cope with “official” predators – our loss – it’s why the 21st century will be one where authoritarianism grows and free societies shrink.
