Dimitri Soudas has been forced out as the Conservative Party of Canada’s executive director
after allegedly trying to interfere with his fiancee’s Conservative nomination battle…
Idiot.

Idiot.
The Prime Minister does the right thing by getting rid of someone abusing his position and the CBC comments (as far as I bothered to read) were all negative about the PM. Typical.
Yeah, as it should be, because if it was a DPPR or Lieberal they’d be getting acclaimed for the leadership of the Party 🙂
Might be time for us former reform party members to reengage.
If you believe in nothing, you will stand for nothing and do anything to get your face into the trough.
The current conservative party of Canada is full of political operatives, political science graduates and professional experts.
As no-one in their right mind wants the job, the parasite swims in, having no ethical reservations or self doubt, the modern kleptocrat will wear any costume to fit the part, mouth whatever platitudes necessary.
Voters do know what their choices are, they all stink on ice, hence the ever increasing failure to vote.
Trust me I want to be your leader.. sounds so insipid don’t it. Yet this is what it boils down to, never mind that we are broke, indebted and facing a crumbling infrastructure in a ever more competitive world, lets debate how we shall not face reality, congratulate ourselves on waiting ever longer for healthcare, and our new sensitivity to how we treat all the freeloaders living off of our work.
Is it time to face the facts?
Those that want the job, actively seek it, are not fit to do it.
Adults can no longer sit by as idiots destroy our civilization, so our perception of politics is another social myth created by the creatures gnawing at the roots of civilization, AKA “The Press”.
Without property rights, rule of law and actual justice, we leave our children nothing.
Never mind your ideology, can you add?
When takers outnumber producers, there is no gain or future.
Liberal – Tory …..
Far too much truth in your statement than I care to admit.
I’m just gonna try and raise my kids to have fun. What else is there?
And your evidence from this situation is…?
Aviator nails it.
There certainly does appear to be a much higher ethical bar for Conservatives, enforced by a patently biased and recklessly partisan state broadcaster and pounced upon by anyone with an axe to grind. But still, the dude deserved the boot. Kudos to the PMO on this one.
There certainly does appear to be an ethical bar for Conservatives for media treatment, other party candidates not so much.
Influence peddling, they all do it. It is the Coin of the Realm.
It matters when an individual pol peddles influence to the detriment of the people who are their constituency but let’s be clear that all pols peddle influence and what’s the difference if you stump for your wife of for another person that makes up your clique, it’s all the same unless the candidate they push is a cipher like Obama, which is a one-of-a-kind exception as far as I know from living the decades I have.
I reengaged last year and got back on the riding assoc. board but for the life of me, I just don’t seem to have much enthusiasm for the task.
I do however, like that PM Harper gets rid of the duds forthwith.
And that’s why, John, we all get involved at the EDA level and decide who will be our Representative in Parliament, what the Party Constitution says, and what the Platform is. Let others do it and then Bitch. That’s the Canadian way!
Dmitri Soudas lost my confidence a long time ago when he opened his mouth on his beliefs on gun control. Typical red tory nonsense. He should have had his hoplophobic, girlie ass punted out years ago.
Wait…you actually believe that involvement in your EDA will mean…anything? That’s adorable.
Liberal, Tory, same old story.
Without property rights, rule of law and actual justice, we leave our children nothing. Never mind your ideology, can you add?
When takers outnumber producers, there is no gain or future.
Unfortunately for Canada, John is correct and there are not enough responsible voters to form a responsible Conservative government. Most voters will simply vote for the politician who is most popular, most charismatic, and who promises them the most benefits from public coffers.
Anyone who depends on the government to do the right thing for Canada is a naive fool.
Thank goodness. At least that means I won’t have to see any more of his cheesy, low-IQ letters soliciting money for the Cons.
And his fiancee Eve Adams is not exactly high quality material either.
Harper has a record of making bad appointments…that is why he is being dumped on.

I can see how this is bad, I mean its not like Harper did something minor like funnel millions into riding associations under the guise of an advertizing program, or canceling a gas plant wasting billions of public dollars, or punishing corrupt fired bureaucrats with million dollar severances, or is currently before the courts for fraud, or the minor offence of being caught smoking crack the media would have ignored…well except for a crack video.
Yep, he did a major mistake of firing a staffer trying to corrupt a riding nomination…if only Harper had just denied one of the candidates from running at all and the media and certain pundits would say nothing about this.
JustIn stole all of Harpo’s parachutes!
Soudas will no doubt be the big story, it will take away from Boy Justin’s use of the “F” bomb at a cancer charity event.
If the PM had not asked him to step down opps and media would be crying like Banshees, he has so now he’s a control freak.
bluetech, actually, they are both right.
Three things are clear from this story.
The CPC did the right thing, the CBC will always do what it can to make it appear they did the wrong thing and partisan hacks will never miss an opportunity to spread misinformation about their opponents.
But, for those of you who still just cannot see (as Occam has shown he can) that the CPC and LPC have far far more in common than they have meaningful differences….don’t give up. If you really try, you can shed those partisan tinted glasses and see the political world for how it really is. Ideological smoke and mirrors.
I am sick and tired of sooo many applying no more depth of thought to their politics than they do their sports teams. That goes double for the enabling MSM and their parasitic talking heads.
This is NOT the friggin’ CPL! (Canadian Parliamentary League)
This is our futures.
The children are our future!
Politics is about the use of power and as such all politicians and their hangers on suffer the same temptations from similar opportunities. Thus a Conservative operative trying to tip the scales is no different than a Liberal or NDP trying to tip the scales. What is different is the response by the party. The NDP would deny anything happened, the Liberals would give the offender a raise and the Conservatives fired the SOB. I can see a difference and I know who I will continue to support.
Harper will only fire someone only after he realizes that no amount of damage control will be able to fix the situation. Or the person in question is Peter McKay. I suspect that’s because McKay has compromising pictures of Harper…
Ha, i see a lot of red Tories in here as well. Gee is there any true conservatives left? everyone seems to be on the bash Harper band wagon. This is crazy. I like Harper, i think he is doing a good job,not a great job, but a good job.
i don’t like the banning light bulbs thing, i don’t like the watered down c-68 repeal. i don’t like the treating of veterans thing. And i wish we would friken start the building of our navy and air force again and better equipping our soldiers for battle. it seems to be taking for ever with the f-35 crap , and the ship building crap …lets get going here.
Other than that , he has shrunk the gov, he has dropped the gst(please spare me i understand that it should be completely eliminated).
He is setting our economy on the right track with free trade with Europe how good it is for Canada we will see in the future. But as an economist i believe he is pretty savvy that way and actually does look out for Canadians interests. When i look at the other options i can’t help but be scared. So yes i will vote for the conservatives again, they just won’t get any more money until they start dealing with property rights and bill c-68 full repeal.
The Liberals have been infiltrating Conservative Parties for a decade now, Alison Redfraud in Alberta was a prime example.
Saul Alinskey, was well read by the corrupt and mentally ill alike.
@ Spinal Tap: That was so deliciously bitchy!!!! Good for you, girl!
he has shrunk the gov
Liar.
Gee is there any true conservatives left? everyone seems to be on the bash Harper band wagon.
Canadian conservatism = making excuses for Blue Statists.
What profiteth a man to gain the world but to lose his soul? But, Dimitri, for Eve Adams? Soudas has performed well in the past and was a loyal staffer, but Mr Harper should have suspected something was not quite right when Soudas and Adams broke up two families form what they may have delusionally thought to be a power couple.
I sometimes fear that Mr Harper may be so afraid of his friends that he surrounds himself with enemies and ciphers.
The left tries to hide or ignore their dirty laundry, well done Mr. Prime Minister for taking the high road
The only problem I see is the firing of Soudas means there is even less savvy representation of Quebec in the PMO. Soudas knows Montreal very well and, although he is not a pur laine, knows the rest of Quebec pretty well. Which means, at a minimum, even more tone deaf or at best boring French ads. Why they don’t have some riding association reps vet these commercials is beyond me (or some Quebec focus groups).
