Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

#350.org was claiming 17000 warriors last night…in a country of 350 million +…
not even the journo’s believe there sh3t anymore.
Sad claim to fame for a reporter…watching the village idiots do their stupid dance
Wish that were so, but they just don’t want to hear anything that would shatter their illusions about their illusions.
So even his editors know how useless he is.
Whats his hope?
Lip stands amongst the irrelevant?
If these Senators cared, they would pass a bill, vote, oh right not enough Democratic votes, then send it to the Congress, where the Republicans would laugh at it.
So the liars are ever more transparent and Lippman is the only Presstitute useless enough to be sent to cover it?
What there are no good theatre critics anymore?
Surely this senate gong show should be classed as govt subsidized performance art.
It was a debate? LOL. Who won?
Saturday Night Live cannot produce skits this wacko !!
Dem Senators fearmonger about too much CO2 in the atmosphere and so they expel even more CO2 by talking all night and are too stooopid to realize that the earth’s atmosphere contains only 0.04% CO2 which is a CO2 starvation diet for the poor food producing plants on this planet.
Two questions:
1) Why are they so dumb?
Answer: Because the lamestream media has a policy of dumbing-down the populace – especially politicians.
2) Why do we never see a reporter simply ask these Senators what the present so called “high” level of atmospheric CO2 concentration actually is and what lower level figure do they have in mind?
Answer: See 1)
Someone tweet the polar region map in the next thread to this goof.
Doesn’t a debate require someone to take the opposite side?
Common now I saw the climate change this week in Alberta!
With my own eyes.
With nothing but socialists there, was it even really a debate? I figure it was more like Nazis seig heiling each other over and over.
this is the equivalent of those candlelight vigils people do for various causes and actually truly believe they are doing something useful–probably put it on their resume.
Thefts because everybody else was smart enough to recognize it as a Potemkin drone feast, and stayed home. Dummy.
What is never stated when talking about ‘carbon pollution’ is that the commonly stated ~ 400 parts per million level of carbon dioxide in the air represents the net difference of carbon dioxide entering the atmosphere and the amount being taken out by plant growth and other factors.
This net difference can be easily measured to provide a reading of the current level of carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere.
I hardly ever see anyone trying to give an accurate estimate of the absolute total amount of CO2 entering the atmosphere from all sources – or the absolute total amount leaving the atmosphere. Sure there are reports that try to do this but their numbers are all over the map. I suspect that this is a very inexact science and that these numbers cannot be accurately measured in any way.
Foobert, one of the problems from the get-go has been that the natural sources and sinks of CO2 have never been quantified in any meaningful way. Not even all of the potential mechanisms have been idenified, let alone quantified. This was a huge argument at COP in the late 90s early 2000s. Taking human and natural emissions into account, Canada and the US absorb much more CO2 than they emit because of the ongoing reforestation of North America. This is why the Euros and G77 wouldn’t allow LULUCF. It meant Nth Am would get off scot-free and the Euros would have to pay the 3rd world’s bills for climate change.
What we do know is that the two biggest sinks of CO2 are reforestation and limestone formation. The biggest sources are insect animal life and volcanism but none have been quantified. And every time they are quantified the estimates of the natural sources go up.
Right now the estimates are as follows: human emissions approx 30 billion tonnes annually, natural emissions about 800 BT annually, and atmosphere-ocean annual exchange 15,000 BT. The human emission number is reasonably solid, but the natural numbers are not and are likely too low.
Exacterly. I have even wondered about the extent of cockroach based global warming.
“For a start, it was not a filibuster: Usually, when someone goes full Jimmy Stewart and stands on his feet and talks for hours, it’s to try to block a piece of legislation. But there was no legislation before the Senate. So the Democrats were just talking for the sake of talking. Which in turn raises the question of why there isn’t any bill to debate. After all, Democrats control the Senate. So, if they want to pass a climate-change bill, they can do so any time they want. Instead, they decided to engage in an act of theatre, using the chamber of the Senate as a stage set on which to act out their lame summer-stock let’s-do-the-show-right-here-in-the-Senate version of Mr Smith Goes To Washington.”
– Mark Steyn
If you go to the back of the room by the main doors, they’re still handing out the complete transcript for the evening, which the Dems are reading from directly down on the floor. They thought it would be a hoot to do a full read-through once OFA got it written and printed, but most reporters got their copies yesterday and wrote up their stories then, and none of them have any great desire to go sit in the Senate gallery all night tonight and listen to it all again.
Well, it’s 5:25 am. All the others are busy in their barns milking cows.
Word is all the Donkey senators up fer reelection stayed away, to distance themselves from the un-popular AGW agenda….and OBAMA…..
The best estimates I can seem to gather is a human contribution of approximaely 3 to 5 percent would you say that is accurate?
