  1. In leftyland astrology has always been a part of their mysticism and was of pseud science of the hippy gen who now run the public ed systems – are we really surprised that those who place faith in the accuracy of astrology are the same people who accept the flawed data and fallacious postulations of global warming/GHG/climate change hysteria as “solid science”.

  2. I am sure the survey found a lot of respondents who either don’t know that astrology isn’t astronomy or just assume any word that ends with ology means a science.

  3. If I were young again and looking at the Reality of Existence:
    – $300,000 in debt on the day I was born,
    – educated in a school system designed to dumb people down,
    – fed poisons in my food,
    – spied on 24*7,
    – and lied to 24*7
I’d be doing drugs and believing that astrology, faith-healers, global-warmers, rasslin, and Suzuki were real too.

  4. After studying the North Star this climate cycle,
I predict we will have a hot summer and a mild winter.

  5. The dumbing down of the USA, example 5,207.
A zodiac, Kate? I thought that Saskatchewan is not blessed with abundant waterways. Perhaps a hovercraft would be more suitable?

  6. They probably got this result because their sample was skewed toward Fire signs. Earth signs are much better grounded.

  7. Would that be a Polaris powered hovercraft? Or an RC Gemini hovercraft?
“not blessed with abundant waterways” Glad that the DFO (Fisheries and Oceans) finally acknowledges that! 😉

  8. What do you expect? Science education as we knew it is rapidly eroding in North America. We used to be the leader in scientific discovery, now we’re running scared of science. Chemistry? Sorry, the war on drugs and terror have all but stamped out experiments. (And have you tried buying a decent chemistry kit these days?) Physics? Our kids can’t even do math, so how are they able to calculate forces? Biology? Influential “adults” are fighting to teach myth on par with evolution. Pretty soon astrology will be part of public policy, if it isn’t already.

  9. Fellow SDAers. You are embarrassing me with the lack of understanding of the play on word of “zodiac”
    Quit it

  10. The dumbing-down is palpable.
Astronomers look to the past for answers, Astrologers look to the future.
Tapping in to the “revelations of the heavenlies” as their source for getting their directions moving forward was a major transgression for ancient societies. There is a grain of truth found in the stars, but only enough to get people hooked and distracted and lead down the garden path.
I have known enough peers in school who followed their horoscopes religiously every day, and they were the most unstable and reactionary individuals I have known. Their internal radar was on, but really out of step (in an unbalanced and whacky kind of way) with most of us.
Wonder if they are working for government now?

  11. Advertise on the internet that you CAN make gold out of lead, and your alchemist’s kit,$29.95 plus shipping and handling ,will sell enough to see you spend the rest of your life in luxury.
See if you can get an endorsement from a fading “star”,like Mary Steenburgen, who flogs the “Q-ray” bracelet.

  12. I suspect the more accurate headline would have been: “Majority of Young American Adults Don’t Know What Astrology Is”.

  13. I think the products of the “educational” system just don’t know the difference between astrology and astronomy; it’s not a matter of believing their astrological signs.

  14. Well with only 12 personalities for the worlds +7 billion people, you’d think we’d get along much better.
You could divide the world into 12 geographical borders, and everyone born in a certain month would be forced to live in their own country with the same personality. Then if you’re having a bad day, EVERONE is having a bad day, on a good day it’s party time.
    Simple really.

  15. I’m nominating you for the Nobel Peace Prize,if you don’t mind being in company with Al Gore and Obama, that is.

  16. don morris >
OOOh Thank you, I like prizes, and I like peace, and I like noble people.
Some of my best friends are black you know. Really, some of them are blacker than an old style grocery bag if you hold it up to their skin. I don’t do that very much, but sometimes I do.

  17. The Chinese have a 1.4 Billion consensus – therefore the Chinese horoscope IS scientific and true.
