  7. Cooperative? I would think so. The Iranians and Iraqis had fought a
    seven-year war with each other, started by Saddam Hussein. It was very
    nasty, with the Iranians reduced to using children to stop the Iraqis.
    Despite savage losses, the Iranians began to prevail, at which time
    the Iraqis began firing missiles into Iranian cities. It was never
    established whether the missile warheads contained high explosive
    and/or poison gas and/or biological materials.
    An interesting and by no means unbiased account is given in Marjan Satrapi’s Persepolis.
    But I forget: the MSM position is that Saddam Hussein and his henchmen
    such as “Chemical Ali” were nice harmless people a little riled up by
    the awful Americans. Wouldn’t harm a kitten, much less a Kurd.

  9. yes tim, they allowed Saddam to park his military aircraft in their parking lot, and then kept them. But I think they may have kept them to get even with saddamn rather than help the USA. Also it made it a little harder for saddamn to use them against Iran. Now as to the lefty airhead who read the tele-promter………..

  10. Iran. Peacefully not building nuclear weapons since 2002. I’m not sure where Andrea Mitchell got her information but anything reported on MSNBC is suspect at best. Oh…and Tim, they were not “co operative” during the gulf war. They stayed out of it simply because it was win-win for them. Either their mortal enemy Iraq would take a pounding, or their mortal enemy the USA would take a pounding. They were probably disappointed that the bloodbath was so one sided.

    MS-NBC, a NATIONAL television network in the U.S. pulls an audience that numbers under 100,000 viewers all day except when Rachel Maddow is on in prime time.
    In an average day-part (TV ratings lingo) MS-NBC has fewer viewers than are watching an American college football game INSIDE THE STADIUM at any Southeastern Conference university on any Saturday afternoon in the Fall! MORE people watched the Leafs beat the Red Wings INSIDE MICHIGAN STADIUM on New Year’s Day that watch MS-NBC in any average quarter hour day-part except for Rachel Maddow’s show.
    NOTHING MATTERS that happens on MS-NBC.
