  1. That polar view lends a lot of credence to the argument that the Arctic Ocean is really more of an arm of the Atlantic. I’m going to start referring to Alaska’s Atlantic coast.

  2. Thanks for the link, that is a neat map. As for O Bumbles, anyone around here still think he’s going to approve the northern leg of KXL..?..

  3. Its a polar vortex that just so happens to be cold like winter.. Nothing to see here, move along..
The Global Warming heat is hiding in the deep ocean.. They are feverishly working on how to explain the laws of thermal dynamics being turned on its head..
    But hey..
Just because its impossible doesn’t make it improbable right..
    Its all about the cause..

  4. Hey, Obammy!
Just in case your telly prompter doesn’t cue you, don’t forget to mop yer forehead with your hanky!

  5. The Globull Warming con is on life support and sinking fast.
Obama may have to put on a “doctor’s” lab coat and perform
a miracle resurrection then and there before the multitude.

  6. O’Communist will be testing his Obama tendencies tonight to see how far he can go without being stopped by his own party of Lefties.

  7. I called it some time ago that the southern leg would go ahead but the KXL would not cross the 49th, since then things have turned even further against KXL. Ramped up American oil production and the precarious political state of The One dictates that KXL will never pass on his watch.
Now is the time for Canada to look east, west and internally to build the pipelines and refining capacity to maximize our resources. We can no longer count on the Americans, even after The One is out of office as they’ll either elect Hillary or be so brokeass as to be of no use for trading purposes.

  8. It would surprise me greatly if KXL is endorsed by the Obama. Apart from his firmest supporters being anti-
pipeline, he has the pleasure of betraying Canada. I would expect that he will say little, but will leave
pipeline supporters dangling – he will say neither yeah nor nay.
Because of frak oil I would say that the time of the Keystone pipeline has passed. As for what we should do,
the Alberta oil sands are surrounded by leftist governments; indeed, even the Alberta government is leftist.
We are in effect being destroyed economically by leftists. I don’t much care – most Canadians are leftists and
    most of them deserve destitution.

  9. It is proper and fitting that the zero shall throw the power of his Pen & Phone, into the fray, seeking to vanquish the evil climate change.
    Why not?
Nothing else he has claimed is true, nor has his support helped anything I know of.
His only success being the bureaucratic quagmire of “Obama care”.
Expect gun and ammo sales to spike after tonights speech.
I wonder, do the sporting goods stores now lay on extra stock, on notice the President will address the nation?

  10. Quite right.
“The ad is being paid for by NextGen Climate Group, led by the deep-pocketed Obama donor and bitter oilsands foe Tom Steyer.” (CBC)
Like Syncrodox, I and a number of others said this would never go ahead. Obama’s policy all along has been NIMTO. To make that stick, he needs an appearance of public support against the project. That’s where Steyer comes in. His ads are intended to whip up the green frenzy against Keystone this year going into the fall mid-term elections. However, just environmentalism isn’t enough any more; the tide is washing out on climate alarmism.
So this time, anti-Keystone is getting wrapped in the Stars and Stripes, and incidentally portraying Harper as working against the best interests of Americans. That it’s a blatant lie doesn’t matter. Harper is probably the most supportive leader the US has ever had in Canada, but Obama will throw anyone under the bus to meet his personal political agenda.
Keystone is dead. Build Northern Gateway. Now.

  11. Syncrodox, cgh, the ad is wrapped up in Canada-hatred and lies. Tom Steyer invested in Nexen which went to the Chinese and now he’s angry that our oil could go to China (not via Texas, mind)?
I have no doubt that Obama would sooner chew off his leg than let the Keystone Pipeline be built. The Americans post-Obama will be desperate.

  12. Obama used the politically safe & scientific factual term “Climate Change”.
Hell the climate changes every second of every day. Obama doesn’t want to wear the AGW shackles..

  13. Northern Gateway is already proceeding, in effect. They got approval for a nat gas pipe to the LNG plant at Kitimat. Once that right-of-way is established, additional pipelines using it don’t have nearly as many environmental regs to meet, so Gateway can slide through easily.

  14. A very good point, N60. I wouldn’t say “easily”, but yes with less difficulty than would otherwise be the case.
