The obligatory reference to CAGW makes a lot more sense when one looks at where this article is published: New Scientist magazine which has been one of the shrillest proponents of CAGW. Such “scientists” aren’t swayed by experimental and observational evidence as they have an all predicting theory to defend. The magazine should change it’s title to “New Religion” magazine as that’s all it is nowadays.
My guess is that we’re in for some very cold future winters. Those of us who’ve been preparing for just this eventuality will enjoy the schadenfreude of watermelons freezing in the still cold days while bird blenders stand motionless and solar cells are covered in snow. What it means is stocking up on food supplies now while the prices are still reasonable as well as finding out which of ones neighbors are not part of the watermelon conspiracy. Those individuals should be free to experience the results of their actions without any assistance.
If the advocates of CAGW were actually intelligent humans, one would suspect a hidden motive for all of this — spend all of the surplus capital of industrial societies on the production of useless “green” energy projects which, when the inevitable global cooling comes, would leave the bank account and larder empty so lots of the useless eaters which overcrowd the earth would freeze and starve to death. We can still get ourselves out of this situation and it would mean junking every “environmental” and “safety” regulation ever made and embarking on a mass construction project of nuclear reactors to provide stable and cheap electrical power. For those who don’t have unreasonable fears of radiation, the best use for the coolant water from nuclear reactors would be to run a central heating system for the local neighborhoods. It might be waste heat from the standpoint of power generation, but it would be a very welcome heat to someone living in -40 C temperatures.
Gaia does indeed have a good sense of humor and Gaia must be truly enjoying the consternation of the watermelons to her response to their theories. Just remember, the only reason that Gaia created humans was to be her extraplanetary senses as she sought to satisfy her curiousity about what lay beyond her atmosphere. In support of this theory, witness the near perfect weather that accompanied the decades of scientific advancement which put Gaia closer to her goal. Of course, Gaia’s gift was misinterpreted by the moronic but well connected and they sought to eliminate the very industrialization that Gaia was so proud of. No wonder she’s so pissed off and doing her best to restart her exploratory process anew. What this also shows is that Gaia and the sun must be communicating with one another and maybe those civilizations who believed in a sun god weren’t that far off the mark.

Everybody knows that libruls and environmentalists worship atheists, trees, and black men. They also think that their actions can influence Gaia.
