David Cameron’s Britain

Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch, and the nannystate has acquired her obstetrician license;

A pregnant woman has had her baby forcibly removed by caesarean section by social workers.
Essex social services obtained a High Court order against the woman that allowed her to be forcibly sedated and her child to be taken from her womb.
The council said it was acting in the best interests of the woman, an Italian who was in Britain on a work trip, because she had suffered a mental breakdown.

  1. I’m happy to see that “progressives” continue vigorously to uphold a woman’s right to control her own body!

  2. If medicated mental illness were sufficient grounds to apprehend children, social services would have a serious overload. I guess that’s exactly what they want. It takes an exceptionally bad parent to be worse than the better foster parents. I know a lot of kids from homes with hopeless drunken parents who did pretty well in their lives. I am unsure why an English court would even render a verdict concerning custody of an Italian mother and child? I guess he thinks the Ities are too flippin stupid.

  3. After the forced surgery in the Ministry of Sanity the Eurasian citizen was promptly taken to room Room 101 in the Ministry of Love where she watched her baby get eaten by rats.

  4. Would those social workers have any problem with someone publishing their names? their children’s names? perhaps a photo online of them living their normal lives… the judge that initially granted this order, or the judge that ruled the daughter of this woman be given for adoption, and their home address please.
How about their addresses and photos of their mom’s house? clearly they have nothing to hide.

  5. I read this in another British newspaper. It’s a weird story. Even as a person who is cynical about government and the “following orders” stupidity of bureaucrats and public service drones…I want to believe that there is some key details missing. Like the repeated cavity search and forced colonoscopy story in the US from a couple of weeks ago, it’s almost inconceivable that the police, judiciary, medical personnel and other government agents feel they have the legal right to force unnecessary medical procedures on citizens (victims).
This woman, an Italian, not only had an invasive procedure performed on her but had her baby confiscated by a foreign government with, apparently, no one to represent her interests/rights at any proceedings or hearings. Appalling. I have known people with both bipolar disorder and schizophrenia who have raised children so “mental illness” concerns aren’t good enough.
My first thoughts after reading the article were: 1) Is this the whole story? 2)Who is the father? 3)Surely the was other, less invasive options than an immediate C-section and baby-stealing.

  6. In this incident of leftist hysteria. You have to ask who are the true mentally ill. The Social workers or the patient?
I know what I think. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  7. @ marc in calgary:
I agree with you 100%. There are some things that are so clearly criminal, that despite the legality of it (like apartheid, say) it must be resisted. Ultimately this is all going to end in a shooting war I supsect.

  8. Sorry to be crude or bombastic, but this sort of thing is going to continue until these busybody bureaucrats start taking dirt naps for their trouble.
And they seem to be hellbent on pushing until they find out just where that line in the sand is.

    Bingo Well Said!
So where is former CIA operative Gloria Steinem when you need her now?
