Good advice on combating animal extremists for all of us in the animal industry, from an animal researcher. Still, I’d advise she arm herself.
“You have improved the lives of millions of people and animals. Nearly every biomedical advance in the world was, and still is, supported by your hard work and tender hearts. You are heroes! So, why are you hiding? The activist agenda relies on your invisibility to deceive the world into believing that you devalue life, when the truth is that your love for life defines you professionally and personally. Society is longing to know this truth and I believe that your visibility can dismantle the activists’ attack on love and progress. I believe that your visibility can convert war to peace. I believe that your visibility can unite enemies and breed compassion for all living things. I believe that your visibility can change the world…and I want you to start believing it too.” – Cindy Buckmaster

Apart from just regurgitating the partisan mantra, PETA truly is a ghastly organization. Do some research, you’ll find they are even more despicable than you already thought.
As I stated on another post, where is PETA during the slaughter of animals by wind turbines?
I want to watch the battle-royal between the eco-nuts and the animal rights nuts.
Jennifer Lawrence put PETA in their place, when, interviewed by Rolling Stone, she was asked if she really skinned a squirrel in Winter’s Bone: ” I should say it wasn’t real, for PETA,” she’s said. “But screw PETA.”
PETA is a group of sheep led by a group of thugs. They must be marginalized culturally, as Lawrence does, and politically, and legislatively. Any politician who pretends PETA has honorable intentions should be defeated at the next election.
I could have sworn, in the first few moments, that this was going to be about GBW etc., etc.. Possibly because the gal looked quite a lot like a guy. Just goes to show that we (I) have preconceived notions about people. Of course, that is not to say she might not be gay, I can agree with her on this point, at least.
Pretty awesome! new perspective. much appreaciated!
I always supported necessary animals based lab research but I just never thought about it the way this lady put it . good on her! thanks!
Cutting the long winded approach to a distilled rational conclusion – people who organize to prevent human utilization, breeding or even domestication of animals are at best neurotic and more probably self-destructive unhinged delusionals. Giving them any credibility in public policy is a matter of holding the court of public opinion in a psychiatric ward – which is what dino media lead stories are all about.
The researchers are called on to tell the truth about their work, why?
Because both the media and the politicians refuse or can’t be trusted to do so!
Larry Bennett said: “Of course, that is not to say she might not be gay, I can agree with her on this point, at least.”
Seriously Larry? That girl is GAY. She is super duper gay. And it has about as much bearing on what she’s talking about as the colour of that shirt she’s wearing.
Not everybody who’s gay is some kind of freakazoid, y’know. I know some outstanding gay women.
Why do you think she’s irate about the bunny huggers talking sh1t about her work? She gets sneered at for being a butchy gay girl, and she gets spit on for being an animal research scientist. I’d say she’s pretty well had it with being pushed around and told to shut up, and she’s looking for a hippy to punch. Diversity might not be much worth celebrating, but this is a woman worth throwing a party for. Props!
What she needs a pair of pearl handled .45s to go with that attitude. YEAH baby!!
Pass the Lawreys seasoned salt:
Never met a lab rabbit I didn’t like….
