Highway to Hell

It passes straight through Desmog blogger Stephen Leahy’s laptop:

“We’re in a downward spiral that’s pushing us on a path to 5C a temperature the planet has not seen in 55 million years,” (Bill Hare) said.

Jeepers.

Even a future where the global average temperature is 4C higher means temperatures in southern Canada will be 10 to 12C hotter than the warmest days. Food production will collapse as well most nations says Alice Bows-Larkin, a climate scientist at the UK’s Tyndall Climate Center.

  1. Love the photo, Lizzie May at her photogenic best, seated at the Afghanistan table in what appears to be an empty room. I think that sums up the entire theatre of CAGW.

  2. Now I have to put my puter thru the rinse and pot wash cycle to clean it up.
Just another website of the Chicken Littles, living in a fantasyworld, a parallel universe.

  3. If these people truly believed what they were saying they’d be living like early 20th century settlers….

  4. When are these temperature increases going to happen? Hasn’t started yet and we are getting close to the tip of the hockey stick but it seems to be bent down, not up. The sky hasn’t fallen yet. When all that carbon was in the air, wasn’t the planet a pretty lush place?

  5. So what’s the “back story”?
Did Dizzy Lizzy just cut a silent killer
that cleared the room “tout suite”?

  6. The Facebook block near the lower right of their blog enables me to see if any of my Facebook friends “liked” their bogus science page.
Once again, I find no friends that “liked” their idiocy.

  7. I’d say time to take olde Bucky May behind the woodshed, but then she’s probably eat the damn thing!!

  8. The more the world ignores them, the more panic sets in, the more hysterical they get with their fear mongering and outright lies.
They know they are losing. In fact, the ones with more than a couple of dozen working brain cells know they have lost. It is over. COP 19 was not just a failure, it was ignored by the world and there is nothing worse than going nuclear scale hysterical and everyone responses with a giant yawn.
Lizzie will be an exception. She launched her political canoe down the Glowball Warming river and left her paddle on shore. She is adrift and clueless and has nothing left but hyperbole, hysteria, fear mongering and carefully manufactured sob stories, Greenie platitudes and appeals for her flock to bow and scrape at Gaia’s altar.
As for deSmogBlog. . . A pathetic, useless, farcical and lonely outpost on the verges of the civilized interweb, screaming into the wind, inventing more global warming fairy tales to be lapped up by fewer and fewer accolates and praying that Gaia will save them from the fate of zero site visits.

  9. If the carbon tax promoted global warming I’d be all for it. We have one of the coldest countries on the planet and it seems ridiculous to be taxed extra in order to keep it that way.

  10. Well Grant, it is -19 here at the moment.
Stephen Leahy’s mention of “social justice” tells us exactly what this AGW religion is all about.
I am really hoping the Canada will get the Fossil of the Year Award again, but I expect that Australia will take it and Poland might be the runner up.

  11. Can we put some diesel and plastic bale wrap on the tire fire? Please…please!
I’ve just been busting 2″ of solid ice, with a steel pipe, on cattle water troughs in this time of great global warming. I’ll need an axe by the end of the weekend by what the forecast says.
Beaver Mae needs a swat up the side of her head.

  12. One wonders if the activities of Lizzie May are in fact legal given her oath to Canada. Methinks she should be censured. And just who the hell does she pretend to be representing? What an incredible idiot that woman is.

  13. And throw on some coal – more carbon per unit weight – better yet, coke or charcoal,
as they are polluting to make.
That whole article is surreal. The Canadian gov’t was foolish to sign up to the
Kyoto Accord (and the people who negotiated us in were traitors) but they committed
to emission reductions – not temperature decreases, which are speculative.
And where is the 4 deg C and 5 deg C to be measured from?

  14. The ‘gassing of the planet’ this time via CO2 has failed in Poland again…
Gee, you’d almost think they were climate N*zis, couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of hustlers.
Meanwhile the Goracle is going to lecture Ontario residents on the benefits of selling out to Al-Jazeera. Perfect!
    Cheers

  15. Ugh. I read an article on that site that was talking about an enviro ice poll showed that Canadians are more certain about climate change. Then they posted a graph from the survey showing that the number of people believing that it is conclusive that humans cause climate change has dropped from 66% to 60%. What a bunch of tools.

  16. Where the hell is this talk of a 4-5C increase coming from? Even the IPCC retreated from that nonsense.

  17. When all you have left is the possibility of scaring people, you need to inflate all your numbers to scary levels. Also the ice caps will melt and the coasts will be under water, don’t you know. And the storms will get worse, worst storms ever, except when they aren’t, but don’t tell anyone that!
I try to have people look up the ice core samples. I thought the best example was here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mxmo9DskYE
    Well presented with facts.

  18. So Canada’s CO2 emissions are “skyrocketing” are they?
Over the last decade, Canada’s CO2 emissions have dropped by about 6%, or about 15% per capita, putting it pretty much on track to meet its 2020 CO2 emission targets.
    Strange sort of rocket.

  19. 2Peter3:10…..and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Now that’s global warming. Anything else is pffft. mid island mike

  20. Even if our emissions were skyrocketing, it’s not even a flea on a camel. We’re the bad guys, with something like 2% of world “emissions” (def’n-how to change the meaning of “pollution”)? This is getting laughable. These folks never want to talk about real water, ground and air pollution.
Meanwhile China is a green hero because they’ve been so damaged by the non-changed weather, they require reparations, sorry research grants, so they can cope with the future warming, obviously catastrophic with 97.844% “certainty;” that they’re going to do more to cause than any other nation on earth, despite their growth in “renewables.” How are the 40+ coal fired generating stations they’re going to build in the next year affecting their numbers? Oh gee, it’s getting a bit skewed, better adjust the axes. Then leave in a huff wanting more money to “combat climate change.”
Yet in science this is a known thing, coal is the main anthropogenic driver and our contribution to worldwide pollution is negligible. Then Lizzie flips Canada the bird and joins the Afghan delegation. Evil Canada with the cesspool tarrrrr sands contributing 1 millionth of atmospheric CO2. Yes, less shut down Canada and stop the warming that hasn’t happened – that would be a prudent course of action. China will be sure to follow our lead when we do. No they’ll probably bail us out with our own money and laugh all the way to their newly acquired bank. IOW Lizzie, David, Dalton et al NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. A Senator would have to do a hit for Harper to give this bunch any chance at the reins of power.
Oh China: first of all stop building sub-standard solar panels and leaving giant piles of pollution, including radioactive waste, lying around your country and stop using dirty coal, the worst of the worst of all fossil fuels. Third, stop exporting those useless wind turbines – be content with your current 40+% of the current market; and btw actually use the renewable crap you build instead of exporting it. Then we’ll see – maybe then we’ll name a climate medal after you. Then we’ll come back to the table. Oh, don’t want to do that, well they’re you go.
It’s amazing they actually believe their “consensus” and think there’s any chance they’re going to drain the “rich” treasuries on this scale, though the gravy train continues to run. Didn’t Stephen Harper call this whole idea a money laundering scheme? Remember how the watermelons went after him on that? That one might come in handy in 2015.

  21. “As a Canadian I’m ashamed of our increasing emissions…” said Elizabeth May,
Geez Liz, if I could clear a room with a beer-fart like you obviously did, I wouldn’t be ashamed, I’d be proud.

  22. Bring that increased temperature on…….PLEASE! It went down to -25C the other night and it’s not even officially winter yet.
