  2. I have that same piece mounted Michelangelo style on the ceiling of the stairway from the first floor to the second floor in my house. It greets me every morning when I head downstairs to get ready for work!

  12. That is one smart building owner! He understands that the vandals may be considered to have ‘rights’ when it comes time to demolish the building and would have created great delays in getting approvals to demolish. Fabulous pre-emtive move.

    No, that wasn’t a racist comment at all. I was referring to an establishment in the quaint little town of Chatham, Ontario. The town center is a lovely, classic, neat and clean semi-Victorian era dream.
    On one corner is a non-distinct white (painted) brick building with a small, subtle sign over the door that says “Spanky’s”. Inside is where the graffiti resides. Also, the smoking area (yep, an indoor smoking area with windows open to the outdoors) is tucked away up a discreet staircase.
    The graffiti is plastered over many of the patrons and dancers in the form of tattoos. No white-washing those suckers!
    Best peeler joint in Ontario by a long shot. I give it a Siskel/Ebert 11/10 and 3 thumbs up.
    The simple theme of my blurb is that graffiti is not necessary, nor welcomed in any place other than the larger population centers. Real people of the earth (and their kids) will embrace a discreet exotic dancer business long before they will sully their buildings with gang oriented spray bomb crap.
