  1. That’s because it’s all the CBC has nothing original or Canadian to share with viewers today and why I’ve tuned out and turned them OFF!

  2. Ceeb staff terrified at the thought of an impediment to the flow from governmental coffers. Oh, the humanity!

  3. Hi. Joe six-pack speaking for the recently gone Steve. How did it feel to cut your own slimy throat? And that is not a Moore’s suit.

  4. We can dream, Liz J, but the coverage has been rather overheated. Listening to CBC, one would have never known that we have had these shut-downs at least a dozen times before. And the folks on CBC who have been gravely echoing the Democrats’ complaints that Obamacare had been passed into law and signed by the President and upheld as constitutional were the very ones who sounded quite different when talking about the abolition of the long-gun registry or the ending of the mandatory long-form census. Tonight, in the interests of partisan balance, “As It Happens” is featuring a Republican politician who maintains that the whole thing is the fault of the Republican party.
As odd as it may sound, I have known many liberals, even many radicals, who had sufficient respect for truth, reason, and genuine debate that they would be appalled at what passes for journalism at the CBC these days. Unfortunately, they’re all dead now.

  5. I hope to be forgiven if I do not understand the logistics of what the US Government shutdown. It does seem to pose a very serious problem for our American friends.
Now that word Prorogue for instance. We know that Prime Minister Harper has “Prorogued” the government. In other words shut it down. Maybe something I have missed in the comparison.
We are spared CBC and CTV et al and their pundits dealing with “today in parliament”. The slight rising of the voice as certain of them dally with the possibility of the latest scandal. Half hoping the Conservatives will be sent to the woodshed.
Life goes on as the balmy weather and colours prepare Canadians for the coming winter. Few seem to miss parliament at this time.

  6. Shut down the US government will you?
Then re-introduce the original scrap-Obamacare provision.
Or better yet, double the civil service subsidy. Watch the Dems struggle over putting that money in their pockets.

  7. So the Chimp-in-Chief sits out the vote, and goes golfing? WOW. He’s my hero for President. He didn’t even show up to vote present! Sounds like a Jay’s kinda guy.

  8. Oh boy!
Just heard on CBC. “Ford Friend Arrested”.
It might be me, but the person talking to the CBC person was tumbling out the words so quickly. They are determined to sink Mayor Ford, this on our tax dollars.
