  1. The Conservatives seem to get in a lot of trouble spending their own money. Perhaps they should be more like the Liberals and misuse taxpayer money instead. All we ever hear about are Conservatives and robo-calls but I don’t think they have caught a Conservative yet.

  2. What I love is Pat’s justification.
    “If anyone thinks I this kind of donation could make me any more pro union they dont know me very well”
    So I guess any and all back door donations to COnservatives from Banks, Oil Companies and other assorted business interests are ok, according to Mr Martin the COnservatives are already in their back pocket so why not make it official.
    I guess its ok to sell your soul ahead of time then its ok to collect the payment after. Corruption in arrears is better than corruption in advance.

  3. “If anyone thinks this kind of donation could make me any more pro union they don’t know me very well”
    Translation:People that know him well know that it’s absolutely impossible for Pat to be any more pro union. It’s all he is or ever has been.

  4. Way down at the end of the article;
    ” He noted the ethics commissioner’s office has directed he return more than $20,000 worth of donations so far. He would not say why the office felt some donations were inappropriate.”
    I would like to know. It appears that Martin and the unions are playing this oe very cvlose to the line. Sometimes they cross it,sometimes they don’t.
    I’m going to go out on a limb here. I don’t see CUPW(posties)on the list of those who donated. Could one of the donations that was returned be from them?

  5. “Martin…..the former journeyman carpenter and Manitoba Carpenters Union business manager said.”
    If the Carpenter’s Union in Manitoba was as radical as ours was in B.C., no wonder Martin left to become a bigger hog at the trough, no bloody jobs as a carpenter.
    When I first worked in construction,almost all the carpenters were Union, by the time I retired 27 years later, there were almost none,priced and regulated themselves out of the market.
    Same happened to a lot of trades. His labour agitator background explains why Martin’s such an asshole.
