  1. I will be expecting a moving speech by Obama, talking about the obvious causes such as work place violence, gun control, and violence against women.

  2. Oh Oh, any Tea Party granny’s or Ron Paul supporters that went to a town-hall meeting in the last 12 months better ruuuuuun!

  3. I wouldn’t be taking that bet right now. “Tall Afro-american male”? IIRC, the few Afro-american mass shooters in recent history have been muslim converts. The DC snipers come to mind.

  4. Because there is no war going on. No war of any kind at all. And we all know the solution to workplace violence is “gun free zones.”

  5. Yeah well, 3 shooters passes the conspiracy red line.
    2 “down”…I at large….”tall Afro-American in black clothes”…..Somali?

  6. Here are the administration’s recommendations (no sh*t, this is exactly what they said):
To the military – yes, the MILITARY personnel on base – “Shelter in place” (for LAS’s benefit, that means “hide”)
To the citizens – “Listen to the authorities”.
Kate, I know you run a clean joint, but this seriously makes me want to trot out the entire dictionary of curse/swear/obscene
    words.

  7. Somali immigrant is only one of many possibilities. There are more than enough (i.e. one is more than enough) American born of various racial and ethnic heritages who have invested themselves in causes of mass-murdering hatred. I wouldn’t bet on any particular racial or ethnic orgin, but statistically, there is one particular “cause” that is distincly the safest bet.

  8. I know of a guy that works in a gun free zone. The employer made all their employees sign an agreement that they will not bring firearms to work. This is in a concealed carry permit state.
Fortunately, he doesn’t actually work for them. He works for a group that leases space from the company. He carries. It’s awesome 😛

  9. There’s smoke rising from Obama’s Spin shop. The reassignment of job duties narrative could allow the admin to spin it as sequester-caused instead of leaning on the “irritating youtube video” story. What they’ll want to develop is 1) budget cutbacks set off a 2) unstable veteran(s) who was enabled by 3) lax gun laws allowing 4) detachable magazine capable black firearms and motivated in part by this time of 5) great division when people dare disagree with the president’s policies.

  10. That workplace violence, get’s ya everytime.
Funny, first reports do not describe a hot tempered red-haired suspect. That would have been my first guess.
    Who’d a thought…

  11. Yeah well, ever’thang is easier once ya unnerstan….
Clinton era…..powerless to disarm the citizens…they realized they had absolute power over the military. By executive order, in all military installations, all firearms and ammo must be locked down, in armories, unless “actively training”…Somehow perimeter guards and military police got disarmed as well.
It’s all about safety doncha know(politics actually)…if it saves just one life….

  12. Do yourselves a favor and go to CBC.ca and read the comments section on this. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.

  13. An RCAF Hercules has just lifted off from CFB Trenton en route to Washington with a CROOCEXBAR (Canadian Root Causes Excluding Barbarism) team on board headed up by Turdo la Doo.

  14. I just went to the CBC webshite and there is a picture of a white Navy guy and the name Aaron Alexis underneath.
So for the average brain dead reader, that means it was just another crazy Republican.
I didn’t read the story. I felt dirty just being there.

  15. The shooter’s roommate says he’s a Buddhist.
Damnit, you white Christian right-wing extremists dropped the ball AGAIN. How the hell is the media supposed to work a narrative if you keep failing to show up?

  16. Gee, imagine if some guys who weren’t lone gunman crazy people decided they wanted frig up an American military base.
Stuff like this is why I can’t be in the military. Everybody above the rank of raw recruit plug knows the whole place is wide open. But there they are, five star generals on down the line, just going along to get along. They know nobody -important- is going to get killed in an attack on base. Because the important people have guards with live ammo.
Lords and serfs, baby. Full circle right back to feudalism.

  17. What’s with todays ni%%*rs?
They do such a dissservice to “smarter ni%%*rs”. The ones who make racists like me have to eat my words: Colin Powell, C Rice, Thomas Sowell, Cosby and the rest.
Then the Malvo’s get on the primetime news….
Phucked again by their own “bros”..geezzze.
    Yeah right.

  18. Sasquatch, if the front gate guards are also disarmed, then this policy represents incompetence of the highest order or perhaps treason. Armored car guards carrying relatively small amounts of cash are armed; the monetary value of a bases armory alone is orders of magnitude more than the small amount of cash in an armored car which, in Canada anyway, requires 3 armed guards to protect.
It must be obvious to any group of jihadists that the easiest way of arming themselves in the US would be to swarm a military base and take over the armory. Having all guns and ammo centralized means that the attack needs to only be directed to that point with enough force to overcome the few soldiers that are posted there to guard the armory. We’ve seen what one jihadist armed just with a pistol can do on a military base and one would expect in a war environment that every soldier on a military base would be armed with at least a pistol. As far as I know, the current “war on terror” hasn’t been declared to be over yet.
It appears that the current administration doesn’t trust their soldiers or anyone else. Used to go regularly to the Widbey island airshow which was very nice as it allowed people to get really close to the aircraft. No searches of people were performed although there was a sign at the base entrance that anyone entering would be subject to military law. When a stealth fighter was on display, it was surrounded by shotgun toting guards with a prominent sign indicating that use of lethal force was authorized against anyone who got too close to the plane.
Now, anyone who wants to go to the Whidbey island airshow has to submit to an intrusive search and any tools on ones person are considered contrabrand; normally I carry several knives, a leatherman type tool as well as numerous other items that are on the prohibited list. I far preferred the situation where, had I carried in a pistol and brought it out on the base, the response would have been deadly force by the MP’s who were very much in evidence at the airshows that I attended.
I’m curious if the secret service agents around the chimp in chief are allowed to carry loaded firearms?

  19. Just the night before Obumbles was on some MSM program saying he feared his war against the 1st and second amendment was stalled – how coincidental – or was it?
Given that DHS has identified veterans as terror threats and the ongoing purge of veterans by the VA and police to paint them all as psycho-cases and disarm them on that false premise, it seems handy dandy that this incident unfolds. I find it hard to believe that with the NSA spying on 100% of US citizens telephone and internet communications that these disgruntled vets slipped through the security pall.
None of these shooting incidents which follow a Fed Anti-2nd amendment push pass the smell test.

  20. What I don’t understand is why security was so lax that a guy with a record was able to drive through the gate with arms in his vehicle. WTF? A supposedly “secure” installation entered as casually as one might enter a Walmart. This has nothing to do with Clinton’s idiotic gun free decree for what goes on inside the facility. The problem is that the US Navy is so fat and lazy that the Navy Yard was apparently no less difficult to access than a military R&R centre that I used to go to as a civilian.
If the US military is incapable of protecting itself from a lone mental case, God help us all if they ever have to face off against Iran and/or Russia. At the very least, the C.O. of tha instasllation should be (figuratively) made to walk the plank.
