I’m sure the Toronto Star didn’t mean for me to take-away the idea that journalists are left-wing.
That is the impression, though.

Has the comment section at the Star been ‘taken over’ by SDA readers?
Downtown Toronto riding is the bottom of the outhose for Canada’s infestation of Eco Greenie Nutters, Leftoid Progressive Slicksters and Libtard Heads Stuck up Arses types so these two are perfect candidates.
For years I had knew that RED Star reporter Linda McQuaig lived within a socialist soul, now she is truly at home with the Mulcair communists, out lefting the Trudeau Brand of “closet communists”.
Toronto, Canada’s Progressive BOAR’S Nest!
Call them for what they really are ‘bloodsuckers’!
“Freeland presents herself as a progressive, but her writings reveal that she regards as income inequality as inevitable — as something we really can’t do anything about,” McQuaig said.
“I strongly disagree with that and in my writings, I’ve demonstrated that rising inequality is not inevitable. Rather it’s the direct result of the right-wing economic policies embraced by the Conservatives and the Liberals.”
How,in the name of all that’s unholy, can a person over thirty still say crap like that?
I can only hope they both lose.
Aliens from Mos Eisely regard Toronto Centre as a wretched hive of scum and villainy.
“…the Liberals and NDP chose to hand prized candidacies to two women who made the leap from journalism to politics this summer…”
Leap? Gosh no. Surely not a leap.
Slide maybe. Slither more like it…as a sidewinder slithers.

Q: What’s the difference between a journ-o-list and a devout Leftist?
A: A rare exception.
The headline refers to them as “former journalists”. I had thought that the operation that journalists undergo – you know, the one where large sections of their brains are removed, leaving only the areas for speech production and motor function – was irreversible.
Poor Justin, nows there are two more candidates that are smarter then he is. Both these women are flip sides of the same con (whoops I think I mean to say coin but this works just as well.
McQuaig has one of the most bizarre leftist mentalities in Toronto. Referring to her as an “intellectual” is an insult to Chordates everywhere. One of the most foul-minded leftists you’ll find.
Toronto, Canada’s Progressive BOAR’S Nest!

Not so fast, the mighty Ford nation is alive and well.. We will be out en mass on election day to vote him in for a second term.. Rob Ford!!!
Most of us couldn’t care less if he set himself on fire.. But all the right people hate him so he must be doing something right.. Lord knows the leftists love to piss in our cornflakes.. So a little yellow in their breakfast burrito is… ORGASMIC..
Good times in Toronto..
In Toronto anything south of Eglinton Avenue is political swamp land anyway.. Hookers, bums, alligators and mosquitoes.. If you don’t sleep with a net over your bed you will get Don River disease.. Symptoms include liberal arts degrees and the uncontrollable urge to open a store on Queen street..
Its always laughable to watch the leftists play musical chairs come election time..
its downtown brown. who cares, really.
What Fred said, and Vancouver is a close second.
The shallow versus the malevolent. What a wonderful choice Toronto Centre will have.
Star: “Justin Trudeau, who is billing himself as a champion of the middle class, encouraged Freeland to run after reading her 2012 book, Plutocrats, which documents the rising, worldwide gap between rich and poor.”
The notion that there is a “gap” between rich and poor implies a wide swath of incomes that nobody earns, as if the “rich” make a million bucks or more while the “poor”, i.e. everybody else, makes thirty grand or less, and there’s no one in between. This is a devious and irresponsible way to present the issue.
Kim Justin-il is no friend of the middle class. No politician who advocates big government and deficit spending and who therefore wouldn’t rein in the national debt is a friend of the middle class. He’s a phony. And I dare say there’s quite a “gap” between his own wealth and that of most of the fools who would vote for him.
Star: “‘Freeland presents herself as a progressive, but her writings reveal that she regards as income inequality as inevitable — as something we really can’t do anything about,’ McQuaig said.”
“‘I strongly disagree with that and in my writings, I’ve demonstrated that rising inequality is not inevitable. Rather it’s the direct result of the right-wing economic policies embraced by the Conservatives and the Liberals.'”
Note the shift from “inequality” in the first paragraph directly above to “rising inequality” in the second. Rising inequality is not inevitable, but inequality is. As a wise commenter here once pointed out, income inequality is largely the result of effort inequality. Even Linda McQuaig puts in an effort to churn out the volumes, and presumably expects to be rewarded by a decent income if people buy them. It’s too bad her political views mean she’s basically slapping herself in the face.
Note that, over the past few decades, government spending and debts have soared (even under allegedly conservative administrations, unfortunately, including Stephen Harper’s), the nanny state has exploded, and there isn’t a nook or cranny of society in which governments don’t think they should have the power to butt in. That’s the predominant reason why inequality is rising. The rich can look after themselves, and often have political connections. The poor, who are the alleged beneficiaries of all this government, still manage to take it on the chin, while having many of their opportunities taken away from them by stupid — or worse — political actions. An NDP government would almost certainly deliver an awful lot more of the same.
This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It?s the old what goes around comes around routine. Did you acquired lots of links and I see lots of trackbacks??

It appears the leftwing voters in Toronto Centre will have more than enough choices on the ballot. The rest of the voters will have to make due with either selecting the lesser of the evils, or staying home on election day.
The only benefit of this race is that the two carbon copy candidates will be campaigning to the same block of votes trying to out do the other with promises their leaders will never be able to fufill, and worse, will become an albatross for them outside of that one riding.
Gee, I just don’t understand why anyone outside of Toronto Centre would object to Insite setting up shop next door to them? (sarc)
Toronto center just became Canada’s toilet.
More journalists in politics!
Just what we need! They’ll sure sort out this country and get a grip on all the greed and graft at the public trough!
