  1. Now you see them, now you don’t…
I’ve yet to see the plan that VERIFIES the collection and destruction of said materials.
In seven days they’ll have decamped 140 vehicles, in the midst of a civil war; or rather, an uncivil war.
    Cheers

  2. What happens when al Quaida get hold of these weapons? Then it won’t be Syrians but Americans dying hideous deaths.

  3. Recall Gulf I when Saddam’s jets ran away to sanctuary in Iran….alleged a Saddam enemy with an unresolved 10 year war.
Although Iran kept the jets….Saddam had ta fight Gulf II without those particular aircraft….no honour among muzzies…
Lebanon is a troubling place for chemical weapons IOW Hiz’bollah….an implacable, anti-Israel element not noted for restraint….with thousands of rockets for the next barrage on Israel…

  4. So when did Syria deny having chemical weapons?
Syria only denied USING chemical weapons.

“A Syrian Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman, Jihad Makdessi, stated on the 23rd July (2012) that these weapons were protected by the armed forces and would only be employed in case of “external aggression”, ruling out the possibility that non -conventional weapons could be used against the Syrian population”
“Strong is Western Liberal media propaganda, hmmm”

  5. so… was the iraq war justified again?
can we just stick to the justification that removing tyranny from the middle east will prevent terrorists from coming into being? that’s the one I prefer most of all.

    O is AlMoh’s croupier.
    …-
“The weapons leave Iraq and hide in Syria; then leave Syria and hide in Iraq.
We will attack, no we won’t, yes we will, but it will be very very small, no it won’t be a pin stick (the real word the President used is apparently not allowed on this site). it will be significant, but we will delay, or not, until we pass it on to our enemy to fix.
The lingering question for me is whether this degradation of US power in the Middle East and elsewhere was the plan all along.”

  7. Stow this under the “what possible difference does it make now” file. I fail to see what business it is of Russia’s or the USSA’s what weapons a sovereign state decides to put in its defense inventory – particularly when the two mutts playing global policemen both have these weapons and far far more dangerous ones. Dear hand-wringing pious corporate media presstitutes – get stuffed! You want war? – YOU finance and fight it, we are onto this hackneyed cheer-leading for the military industrial cabal. Pxxs off!

  8. I don’t think these guys are smart enough to plan something that far ahead, Maz2. The Russians might be, but then again their country is pretty much fubar so its hard for me to give them that much credit.
Its instructive to go back in history to the Kennedy administration. We know now that the DemocRats of the time played the whole Cuban Missile Crisis in a non-serious manner, 100% focused on how things looked domestically. Khrushchev couldn’t believe the sh1t Kennedy was talking over the hotline, and we all nearly ended up glowing in the dark because of it. Kennedy and friends were a bunch of small time ward heelers and Chicago bagmen, and they acted like it.
Here again, the Obamatrons are a bunch of Chicago bagmen, and Obama himself is nothing more than a jumped up Chicago bag man. They really don’t think anything that happens outside the USA is even faintly important. They use foreign policy as a tool to move opinion at home, not protect the country.
So here we are, screwing around with some BS little country, Americans on one side and Russians on the other. And it’s all being done to pick up votes or donations, they don’t care that American power is being destroyed abroad. They may not even know it.
The only difference that I can see is that Obama is an even greater jackass than Kennedy, who was a drug addict AND a sex addict who pronged his way through more women in the White House than Bill Clinton did in eight years.
America, getting the government they voted for, good and hard.

  9. Obama said to today that Russia was not an adversary – sad nothing about Russia arming Syria and Iran and helping Iran go nuclear.
Until (which means never) he calls a spade a spade we are on a collision course with catastrophe.
Just check out what future POTUS candidates like Ted Cruz are Saying to know what should be done..

  10. I believe everything I read on the internet. It’s all the god honest truth. An unknown newspaper in Lebanon reports uninspected trucks crossing into Iraq. It must be chemical weapons. I believe every word of it, without question. On the other hand, who gives a rats behind if it’s true or not. If the shitites gas the sunnies it’s all good for me.

  11. Phantom;
My your particularly cynical this morning.
The world has always ran from a geopolitical perspective IMO. At the end of the day it is always about putting food on the table. Some simply have a better environment to work from or are simply better at going out and getting what they need.
A good read is Stratfor’s analysis of the difference between Argentina and Brazil. The physical advantages that Argentina enjoys have been trumped by the political will of Brazil.
I agree with your take on Demo past presidents. Jimmy Carter the most dangerous IMO. As a rule I thought GOP presidents and aspirants were better qualified and then John McCain came along.

  12. Not to mention that the US created the mujahadeen, the forerunner to al-Quaeda.
Or that the US supplied the chemical weapons to Saddam, which he subsequently shipped to Syria when the US threatened invasion.
The more this situation unfolds, the more it seems decades of US foreign policy in the middle east is coming back to bite them.
Then, when you get the community organizer trying to face down a former KGB agent.
I know a recent emigree who lived 20 minutes from Chechnya. He told me on Sunday he personally knows three KGB agents and they are all very good men trying to root our crime and terrorism.
Given the fact Putin has had to deal with my friend’s recent neighbours, while all Obama has had to do is deal with social justice, I’m tending to side more and more with the Russian reality of the world.

  13. Russia has to deal directly with the Islamist supremacists.
The US is obsessed about about issues such as whether gays can marry.
I suppose we could get into a debate about moral compass and which nation has a more promising future.
    Notice any difference?
Make you wonder why you’ve swallowed the direction of North American political BS?

  14. SYF: “Not to mention that the US created the mujahadeen, the forerunner to al-Quaeda.”
Yes, back when they jihadists didn’t give a s**t about the US or the Israelis or the Palestinians. Back when Charlie Wilson gave them AK47s and Stingers. Back before Saudi Arabia allowed US troops on their soil (if you want a “root cause,” there it is). Back before the iron curtain fell.
And nobody’s given them a friggin thing since: not China, not North Korea, not Saudi Arabia, not Pakistan, not Yemen, absolutely nobody else – right?
BTW, they weren’t “created” by the US, they had existed long before that, the jihadists that is; AQ is just the recent flavour.

  15. the US created the mujahadeen, the forerunner to al-Quaeda.
This is myth. Pakistan and the Saudis created AQ and the Taliban. Most of the forces the US assisted later became the Northern Alliance good guys.
He told me on Sunday he personally knows three KGB agents and they are all very good men trying to root our crime and terrorism.
Somehow I doubt that. In any event they aren’t very good at their jobs because terrorism in Chechnya and the other Russian caucuses is as bad as ever.
I think the explanation of what’s happening is simpler and dumber than Phantom’s: Obama is insecure and needed to show off what a man he is, and he thought he had to defend his ‘red line’ or no one would take him serial.

  16. Obama is defending his ‘red line’ to get the IRS/NSA/Benghazi/Obamacare scandals out of the headlines.
Threats of war trumped them all and it worked like a damn.
