Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“So he quit and that means even if he is found guilty in a court of law his pension is safe.”
Yep,ol’ Mahmoud quit before the sh!t hit the fan.
According to his lawyer,Mac’s a victim of the highly partisan atmosphere in Ottawa.
And “the atmosphere ” was never partisan before that Harper was PM, you betcha.
Good bye,Mahmoud,and good riddance.
How do you define a weasel?
And you are shocked because a LIEberal did this? To be fair, the Red Tory Wallin will probably do the same thing. After all, she is right up there with leftard Harb, being a urnilist and all.
Ugh. “urinilist”. More coffee.
There is no justice – the political class in this Kleptocracy are exempt from lawless rapacious behavior which would put any one of us serfs behind bars – seriously why pay taxes when this crap is common – where’s the incentive to play straight when we are run by a culture of thieves.
Harb is only 59 so he has plenty of years left to sit in a jail cell.
“culture of thieves” just about sums it up. They fear neither man, nor beast, nor God.
We’re going down. They’re bankrupting us of not only financially but morally as well.
Morals and politics are no longer a team, we’d have to go back to the very long ago to find any evidence of morals in politics.
It seems they have some kind of mindset when they go into politics at any level they’re entitled to rob the people they serve and pay the ever increasing taxes for their “services”.
Ontario is a prime example of what’s “out there” voting for and accepting being taken to the cleaners and LIED to all the way. It’s a testament to society at large who accept the what’s in it for me attitude of the politicians they elect.
More of the “entiitled to my entitlements” attitude. Morality and politics are the opposite ends of the spectrum and few things illuminate the gap more the these senatorial bozos. At this point all we can do is try to uphold our own morals in our small circles and to hell with the rest of them. “The end is nigh” is not far from the truth these days. Miley Cyrus is another symptom of the end. The end of western civilization is falling the same as Rome fell, with decadence and lack of leadership while the masses weep.
You are right, and for too many reasons or symptoms to list on this thread as they would be off topic.
I believe PM Harper is an exception even though some days it seems he has gone over to the progressive side in many ways. Although to be fair to him, anyone who wants to govern for all Canadians is basically governing a coalition and can not have it all their way.
Having said that, if the Senate cannot be reformed in a meaningful way it should be abolished. The down side to abolition is that this is what the Marxists want so that if they ever become the federal government they will have complete control once they tune up the Supreme Court.
I had dinner with a federal cabinet member the other night. He talked about Duffy. He was well liked in the CPC as he did a good job on the election hustings and voters enjoyed his talks. The CPC was shocked by the expense expose and are still scratching their heads about it. My question was if they knew nothing about it then how could these claims have been paid?
Anyway he said all Senators are now being audited and further surprises might be coming. He said the expense controls on MP’s are much more stringent and he is confident that no such excesses are happening there.
I asked him why the CPC was still funding the CBC when it should have been sold. His response was that the CBC is not viewed back east the same way as in the west. As a national government they had to respect the opinions of all Canadians. This Cabinet member is from Vancouver Island and a ’93 Reformer so he knows where I was coming from. I accused him of having swallowed the eastern BS which he didn’t like.
My take away was that the CPC caucus is proud of the work accomplished while in majority. He says more noticeable changes will be coming. Particularly in criminal justice. The Senate will be addressed. The Party is going into re-election mode this fall. PMSH is the best PM in the modern era in his opinion.
Did you ask him about the firearms thefts in High River?
My last discussion with a couple cabinet ministers ended with me thinking what a-holes they were. They really had no clue about what conservatives causes were and the the history behind many prior Liberal decisions. Despite the leftist rhetoric of the press about how redneck the Conservatives are, I simply don’t see it. I am not sure which laws passed by the federal government have any position on the left/right spectrum. Much of the NDP was against the gun registry until the guy with the homicidal eyes got in power.
JohnPeg @ 10:35 What!
Politics is the art of the possible.
No JohnPeg! the decline of the RCMP is at the feet of PMJC, the accolyte of PMPT. Cheers;
This is very informative. Does anyone know if the other media outlets (CBC, STar, etc.) have bothered to point out that this arrangement allows Harb to keep his pension. My impression was that many of the comments on the other sites were taking pride in Harb “doing the right thing” and when were Duffy and Wallin going to do the same? Too many in the media are only interested in a story if it smears Conservatives.

When exactly did the RCMP declared war on the people? 50 years ago, they were worshipped.

A glowing tribute to Our (other) Mac.
“When exactly did the RCMP declared war on the people?”
They didn’t declare war on the citizens, but PM Brian Mulroney made it clear to his new RCMP Chief,Norman Inkster, that he answered to the PM, not the Law.
It’s been downhill ever since.
It’s always pleasant to see Canadians get what they voted for.
Scar; I guess my different opinion started under PMPT, but really the invading of the home of President of the Business Development Bank by the RCMP met the criteria for search during PMSC terms? Check it out!
Later on I had a quiet discussion with a recently retired,at that time, RCMP Corporal, which revealed how much political influence there now was in the nations Police Force. Please remember Corporals in the RCMP hold significant administrative positions.
Do you think the stink coming from Montreal and area was not known to the RCMP? Cheers;
Actually Don Morris, the rot started with – you guessed it – Trudeau. He insisted on being informed when Liberal MPs and senators were being investigated by the RCMP. If you can find Above The Law by Paul Palango or his later books, buy it.
I have “Above the Law” in my library.
In that book, Palango stated that Trudeau told the RCMP Inspector,Rod Stamler,to “follow the evidence, even if it lead right to the Prime Minister’s Office”.
He also states in the same book, that Mulroney appointed Norman Inkster and told him that he answered to the PM, not the Law.
I was no fan of Trudeau, but also no fan of Mulroney.Canada had one lousy PM followed by another in that day, but we can’t hang the dumbing down of the RCMP on Trudeau, it started on Mulroney’s watch.
