Via Weekly Standard;
Two spectacular al Qaeda prison breaks in Iraq, freeing over 500 of its members in two separate prisons simultaneously this week, demonstrate the group is back with a vengeance. Al Qaeda’s Iraq branch is also the moving force behind the jihadist success in Syria. The resurgence of al Qaeda in Iraq has sobering implications for what is likely to follow the drawdown of NATO forces in Afghanistan for the al Qaeda mother ship in Pakistan. […]
…if American pressure on al Qaeda in Pakistan diminishes after the NATO withdrawal of combat forces next year from Afghanistan, we can expect a rapid regeneration of al Qaeda in Pakistan. The drones all fly from bases in Afghanistan, without which there is no pressure on al Qaeda next door in Pakistan. Iraq is a sobering lesson in what happens when a battered al Qaeda movement gets a second chance.

So, if you’ve spent time in a prison in Iraq or Afghanistan, you’re automatically accepted as a refugee in Canada, right?
I’m predicting a run on pressure cookers in the years ahead.
A piddling fact that Stevens had predeceased Bin Laden by some 8=9 years – (a long story but suffice to say if Bin laden was killed when Obama says he was, I want to be treated by the Islamic doctor that kept him alive the many years since he went on a dialysis machine before the Iraq war) but I;m confident the LSM has kept these discrepancies in the terror war out of the public eye long enough that reality is a secondary issue to keeping the fear and loathing alive to fuel the war on terror.
As for these mass jail breaks of terrorists – well, we’ll just have to step up the groping at airports, warrantless check stops, public surveillance, disarming of red state patriots and arrests of more reporters and whistle-blowers who threaten the official narrative. The process of making a US gulag state will get back on track now that there are a new batch of bogeymen running loose – the war on terror rages on – give us your freedoms and liberty and we will vanquish this nebulous foe.
The First Muslim Civil War, opening salvoes.
Sarah was correct when she said it is best that Allah work it out.
Not our problem.

maybe the islamists need lessons in how to run a correctional facility.

There was never ever a serious attempt to destroy al Qaeda, only to do the bare minimum to fool low-information voters. Why would Obama destroy those for whom he has sympathy? We will reap his the consequences of his actions.
Lack of reciprocation is our doom. Always turning the other cheek.
“…there was never ever a serious attempt to destroy al Qaeda,…”
Not under ‘bama, and not under Bush either.
The west no longer has the stomach to wage war or to occupy.
After the invasion and surrender of Germany in 1945, a curfew was imposed and anybody – man, woman or child – on the streets after dark was shot. Period.
I recall watching looters rampaging through the streets of Bagdhad at night and US troops standing idly by. If you’re going to let the looters rampage, you’re setting your enemy free to do his dirty work as well.
Germany and Japan learned the virtues of an absolute pounding. There is nothing to suggest that the same message wouldn’t work today.
I bet this made Obama’s day.
What you said. There is no will to win.
The Germans and the Japanese had the virtue of NOT being inbred and therefore capable of reasoning whereas the other guys, well… Hallmark Cards have their work cut out for them.
“Happy Younger Cousin-Sister-Wife Day to You!”
I think I saw him smiling in that wild eyed way, Revnant Dream. He issues that smile when he sees misery on the way for (any) people, IMO. It is difficult, IMO, for American Patriots to back their own country with this ‘stranger’ driving the boat – I understand as I had the same problem with Canada when the Liberanos (esp. Turdo and Crechen) were at the helm in Ottawa. I feel compassion my American friends who are reluctant to back anything the Feds drum up – it is true patriotism, not lack of spine, to refuse to back up a leader who has no scruples, who denounces the word of the Lord, who pals around with the ilk of people he associates with; all his ‘Czars’, his former Minister (Sharpton), his hating wife…the powerful IRS is spying on people, the TSA is groping people, people’s private property is being stolen, children are brainwashed at school, friends ‘sell out’ for money or immunity.
I pray for the American people.
Ironic that there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq when we went in to take out Sadam. Hope they all enjoy the “Democracy” we brought them. At least we made Iran happy by taking out their main rival. I can’t help but notice their lack of appreciation. Ungrateful bastards.
If only.
The Middle East, and Islamic fundamentalism, is a tarbaby to which we are stuck. We may wish to disengage but they do not. That is one of the lessons of 9/11.
