Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The police spokesman twisted himself in knots to avoid saying “Muslim”.
So are the RCMP in High River now going back to evacuated homes looking for pressure cookers?
Not to worry folks. Rumour has it that only high capacity cookers will be required to be registered. Anything under 6 quarts of capacity will be exempt.
Nobody really needs anything with more than 6 quarts of capacity anyway.
Doubt it, they were so happy to steal the guns they left Canada’s murder weapon of choice in every kitchen they entered.
Their names appear to be Anglo-Saxon or in the case of the woman, perhaps Eastern European.
I would like to see their photos before passing judgement however they could be radicalized
Canadians.
I am thinking this is the first of many crazed eco-nuts “expressing” their concern for the environment by attempting to blow it up. They lost the BC election. That is what this is about.
It’s already started. Went to Cajun Tire today and found that all of the 22 quart pressure cookers have been pinned to 5 quarts.
I have no interest in teaching explosives to wannabe jihad ist world retards.
To blinded by ideology to learn…..
dwright
It was NDP supporters!
As of July 2013 ALL NDP supporters must register their kitchen utensils and be subject to random warrantless RCMP inspections including search and seizures of their personal properties!
So say we all.
I think you’re being sarcastic but will reply anyways.
Our monthly production of chicken and beef broth make our 22 quart cooker essential.
Our yearly canning of tomatoes, peppers, pickles and on and on also demand the large pressure cooker.
I went to the butcher to buy pork bellies to make homemade bacon, the pink curing salt is now restricted so sayeth the butcher…because ingesting too much is fatal.
My God what’s next?
We truly are being herded back to the stone age by these so called ‘progressives’.
yeah….I immediately thought…either pro-choice or save the whales tree huggers……
I have found that by saving my comment to clipboard the capcha thing is more cooperative.
The RCMP say it was “Al-Quaida” inspired, and where do they get their inspiration from? It’s a mystery.
The would be Via Rail terrorists demanding to be judged by the Koran not the laws of man.
What is it in that book and the Hadith et. al that “inspires” such evil?
Ayaan Hirsi Ali tells us their is no such thing as Islamophobia, that Islam is simply incompatible with Western Civilization.
The Islamists agree and are very vocal about it.
I doubt these two were converted over the internet, where did and who facilitated that?
We’re just lucky the RCMP security section wasn’t diverted to High River.
22 years of restrictive gun control and unrestricted Islamist immigration has brought us … such cultural diversity.
And Omar Kahdr is now eligible for day parole.
Political Islam is like…? Well, it’s like a pressure cooker.
I think it’s time to have Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller do a cross-Canada tour, before Justin/Thomas coalition takes over and ban them.
A 22 quart pressure cooker!!!
You’re not fooling anyone,”doowleb”, we know that just ONE offhand remark about canning will set you off!
I’m turning you in for the reward, though I may wait until Justin is PM when the reward will double.
Some of the best meals I ever ate were prepared in my Mother’s huge pressure cooker, must have been at least a 22 quart-er or more.
We had to finally retire it when we could no longer get the sealing ring which had to be replaced every few years.
I’m hoping the next group of disaffected youths uses a propane tank as a bomb, the resultant ban on barbecues might be enough to finally piss off Canadians, even the cultural relativists.
To me this sounds very suspicious. It sounds as if the High River robbers walked the clueless “jihadists” through every step of the way and then arrested them. That suggests that these moonbats were probably incapable of making a bomb. If they were left to their own devices, likely they would have blown themselves up although this would have deprived the High River robbers of publicity where they claim to do other things besides break into homes and steal people guns.
Making bombs is very easy and, in my childhood, we liked to blow things up. If I could make a bomb as a 12 year old then surely adults should be far more able to create effective explosive devices. The pressure cooker bomb is a means of confining a low explosive such as gunpowder until the pressure builds up enough to make a decent bang. The way around this is to make high explosives like acetone peroxide although, until I get some remote controlled manipulator arms, I’m not trying this particular reaction. Nitroglycerin is safer to make.
While the potential energy of a full propane tank is huge, its overrated as a potential explosive device. The propane is present in liquid form in the tank and a fair bit of heat needs to be added to make it evaporate. Just rupturing the tank explosively will create a large fire but no satisfying blast; it would be better to just have the tank discharging propane until one gets the correct propane/air mixture in a building and that will give an impressive explosion. OTOH, if someone has access to LOX, then one can create a propane/LOX slurry and this would make a very impressive bang, especially if it were ignited in a sealed metal container. If you hear of a LOX transport truck and a propane tanker truck simultaneously go missing, it would be prudent to stay away from downtown areas of large cities. H2O2 and metal hydrides react to produce a very nice explosion but I’ve been too chicken to take more than a few grains of NaBH4 and add a drop or 2 of 50% H2O2 to it — made a loud enough bang in my lab that people from down the hall came by to find out what I was doing. That was before the days of cheap radio controlled remote valves so maybe if I’m really bored . . .
I suppose if the High River robbers are busy entrapping incompetents it makes them less likely to commit other crimes. People who know what they’re doing with explosives would have left an impressive hole and body count in Victoria, but such people are generally very disinclined to put their knowledge to such use.
Only if they are in plain sight.
People who pervert to Islam sometimes need to show their ardency for their new faith. Watching them for 5 months, so it isn’t retards crying for the retard electoral loss. Good job RCMP, now let’s put them away forever.
Besides a registry why don’t we have a “licence” to own kitchen utensils by now?
Then we could classify things like forks as restricted/ non restricted or prohibited.
Chop sticks of course would get a pass as would using your left hand, but other people should be forced to take a two day course on how to use and safely store thier utensils.
Warranties searches of utensil owners homes would be a givein of course.
The police spokesman said they were self-radicalized followers of Al Quaeda ideology.
I am willing to believe that, but the reference to Al Quaeda ideology seems a bit of a give-away.
Unless the police were referencing the Green Religion, and somehow got confused.
Let me improve that sentence for you Larry
Ayaan Hirsi Ali tells us their is no such thing as Islamophobia, that Islam is simply incompatible with Western Civilization.
The new convert to a cause is always the most zealous.
Sounds like the accused are a couple of Surrey’s finest.
Will be interesting to see the media party roast these losers and dig into every aspect of their lives because if their names were mohammed and omar they would be suggesting they are misunderstood, innocent and part of the cultural mosaic.
There’s more to this than is being said for sure. The police deny any involvement with the Boston bombers or any kind of direct coordination with Al Qaeda operatives elsewhere but this plot was hatched in February and the bombs were built in March. Boston was in June wasn’t it? You mean to tell me two “self radicalized” groups independently plotted pressure cooker bomb attacks around the same time and it’s just coincidence?
How about a license to be Islamic. Very few would be issued.
It would still be better treatment than Christians, Bhuddists or Hindus receive in Islamic countries.
April 15, 2013 was the Boston Marathon.
The Victoria Times Colonist is reporting that the 2 potential bombers from Victoria weren’t involved with a mosque, weren’t being coxed by an imam, were independent.
If this is true, they’ve got nobody to blame but the koran, and associated other books related to islam.
Islam isn’t a religion to bring anyone closer to God, it’s the devil’s breakfast.
So which is it? Either they’ve acted just coincidentally at the same time as the other 2 terrorists in Boston, or there was some contact, and not just completely “out of the blue” …
My bullshit meter is pegged.
And don’t forget that NDPer’s who register must undergo a further licensing process which involves the RCMP contacting and interviewing everyone they slept with for the previous two years – to assess predisposition for SJS*.
*Sudden jihad syndrome.
They were Amish and Mennonites inspired by the perfect man who married a six year old.
Ah crap! We own a pressure cooker. Never knew what we could do with it other than cook.
Now we got different ideas.
Can we expect a visit from the police now?
“Unless the police were referencing the Green Religion, and somehow got confused.”
I have given up trying to understand the RCMP. They are a clinically paranoid organisation that dabbles in politics and intrigue far too much.
Just a thought, but I’m parochial anyway when it comes to the RCMP. Has anyone here considered expressing some appreciation to the RCMP for good work and possibly saving many lives? No wonder recruiting is getting tougher….get yourselves a Glock, folks…keep up the derision and you may find yourselves on your own in the future.
Merely a thought
Very risky post, friend. Barry has already dispatched a drone to circle your pad, as you read this. Better hope it doesn’t carry hëllfïrëš…

The male suspect;s lawyer acknowledged today that his client was a convert to Islam. Nuff saud.
Bruce has it right. CBC article finally quietly reveals that Nuttal is a recent convert to Islam. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/story/2013/07/02/bc-victoria-bomb-motivation.html
Interesting how the comments seem always closed in the NP and CBC whenever a muslim terrorist act is noted.
Only a lawyer could say this with a straight face…..
On Tuesday, Morino said his client had converted to Islam and had embraced the Muslim faith, but added that the new alleged offences are “absolutely unrelated” to any mosque group or any other established organization.

The more I read and hear about this story the more I think this is a political bust in the sense that someone wants more “security” laws and needs the impetus to pass them. These two bozo were drug addicts on a methadone program, lived like complete pigs in a $650/mo basement suite, were on welfare, and were recent converts to Islam. Neither of them sound like they have an IQ above Fahrenheit room temperature on a hot summer day. They ranted in the streets about blowing things up, allegedly left a van full of hazardous liquids in their driveway, and generally made themselves extremely well known to police even during their bomb plot. To me, it sounds like the RCMP had to direct these bozos and keep them on track in order to get the bomb plot they needed. My money says not criminally responsible by reason of mental deficiency in the end. Hardly your typical hard core jihadis.
Sounds like these two could have easily been involuntarily hospitalized and put on depot antipsychotics with likely a marked diminution of their violent ranting. My experience with such people is that if they actually create a bomb, they’ll just blow themselves up but usually they’re far too deteriorated to tackle anything that requires them to keep 2 or 3 steps in an instruction sequence in their head.
The fact that they’re on methadone means that they’re even less dangerous because junkies are focused on one thing only – getting more drugs. Given how simple it is to synthesize fentanyl and it’s closely related chemical cousins, one would think that a junkie would be self-sufficient in opiates. This group of individuals is incapable, even, of collecting their own opium despite the widespread growth of opium poppies in the southern Vancouver island area. Their elaborate schemes involve breaking a vehicle window to collect $0.50 in change or regurgitating their methadone dose into the mouth of another junkie to get some cash to buy heroin.
It sounds like the High River robbers are desperately seeking something to make them look good. What I’d like to know is how much did this entrapment scheme cost and was it a scam for some of the officers to get out of a frozen posting and spend months in Victoria on their “investigation”? If it turns out that the whole issue could have been defused with a few doses of depot antipsychotics, there will be hell to pay.
