Politicians who demand inquiries should be taken out and shot

Can we do the same to journalists?
It’s the people who should call the inquires and the bureaucrats called before them should face dire consequence for malfeasance.
I see that the one going on in Onterrible has found McShifty has destroyed all his files instead of handing them over to the house archivist (as required by law) – and he is trying to explain his criminal intent away as “an executive decision”, – (we all know why Dalton had a midnight paper shedding/disc scrubbing party in the Premier’s office the night he resigned don’t we). But even with the evidence of criminal breech of trust and malfeasance piling up like brown envelopes at an Liberal Party BBQ, do we really believe the most corrupt/criminal government in Ontario history will ever have its leaders see one day of jail time?
Inquiries need to have a result that serves justice and keep the system clean, not the usual theatrical stage manged partisan political circuses they have become.
Vell very interesting, ziss vould be ze Gestapo solution; ja…?
Und how did all that work out?

Here in Canader, we love our Royal Commissions as much as the Brits seem to love their Court of Inquiries, though both end up with the same result, deflection of responsibility.

Absolutely right on,occam.
Bah. Even a stopped clock or the Grauniad is right twice a day.
Context—a West Indian pup living in England, who answered to the name of Stephen Lawrence, annoyed the wrong person and got himself put down. The gangland killing of Stephen Lawrence, like many others, remains unsolved to this day.
The sire and dam have spent the last twenty years demanding that whitey pay, facts, never mind justice, be damned. Their attempts to use five young Englishmen as scapegoats failed when it became clear that there was no evidence beyond hearsay that they ever went near him. Countless hours of the time of English judges and untold millions of pounds have been wasted on the case, mostly because it served as a useful cudgel for the left to beat over the heads of decent Englishmen and force politically correct reforms down the throat of British police, making it much harder for them to do their jobs.
The Grauniad do not want justice served. They’re using Stephen Lawrence’s bloody shirt as another red banner to lead the international, multi-racial working class of their Marxism-addled imagination against the Little English bourgeoisie.
Northern Ireland!!! AAAAaaaahhhhh! I will hold an inquiry and I will do it for nothing. Conclusion – Irish people purported to be Catholics but in all liklihood heathen Irish nationalists took on a mutual hatred for Irish Protestants and the U.K. government. Both sides wanted to win and employed really nasty tactics. Both sides operated outside the law at times. The battle is long over so it is time to get on with life. I look on it as win-win. Whether Catholic or Protestant, there are less Irish to frig up the gene pool.
It gives a few people a chance to make some easy money and others get a chance to feel important for the duration of the inquiry. Other than that it’s a waste of time.
