  1. With respect to the US serveilence of Americans, the IUS government is wrong.
The US gov. needs to watch its enemies, muslims, rather tham Americans

  2. Actually one major thing “The Verona Files” (the referred to Soviet Archives) did reveal was that was americans that were much more of a factor than “illegals” from the USSR.
To this day, most think the USCP was merely a minor faculty lounge/novelists/screen writer group who represented no security threat.
In reality, they had successfully infiltrated government,(Roosevelt’s key advisors) unions, academia, media…… even the Manhatten Project.
In the UK a parellel situation existed…..which fell apart when Igor Ghuzenko defected in Ottawa….in fact, Philby, Burgess and McClean were the managing heads of UK intelligence….somewhat like having the directors of the FBI, CIA and NSA as Soviet agents.
As Reagan declared “the Reds are not under the bed they are in the bed….”
IMHO still are or have taken up residence again….

  3. Indeed, and they have done a remarkable job of passing themselves off as “progressives” or moderate socialists and infiltrating and taken over most of our institutions. For example, didn’t someone a little while ago have a thread about of over two hundred commencements in the US not one guest speaker was on the right of the political spectrum.

  4. And there are still some conservatives, so called, who refuse to believe the left is at war with us and insist on playing nice with them, or holding themselves to a higher standard, as they love to say. How’s that workin’ out?

  5. Yeah well there’s still many amongst us who have not buried the hachet re the COLD WAR…..to resemble a blood feud…
That’s okay…..each for varying reasons…..everybody needs a hobby…..and something to live or die for.
One matter stands out…..my feud is not ethnic but as the Bolsheviks would say…political….
Like most stuff the Cold War was not black and white….but shades of gray…..After I got to know them…I discovered the dour Russians to not be dour at all ….that appearance was a superficial survival mechanism…..party officals were the de facto enemies of the people.
One matter I found bizarre was the soviet custom of restaurants closing for lunch. Closed….the staff were having their lunch/supper….or had gone home for lunch…..

  6. Read the Randolf Hearst early years and see what lengths he went to fight the communist takeover of the print unions after WW I. One should be able to appreciate all societies questioning values after the Great War. Communism was seen by many as an utopian answer.
McCarthyism was not a knee jerk cold war anti-communism exercise. Progressives always view people they disagree with as exposing varying levels of fascism. The history of WW II was successfully labeled a anti-fascist struggle. I suggest much of that struggle was anti-communist based.

  7. Commies have always wrapped themselves in constitutional disguise, it was necessary in the 20s and 30s) but lately I think that pretense has run its course. These so-called Communists have had power in government and its organs for a generation – they now run the Demonrat party and they own large urban centers like LA, New York, the rust belt and Chicago – snd the White House. I would argue with this prof in that what we see in Obama, his Chicago junta and cabinet are not communists disguised as Democrats but Fascists disguised as Americans.
Yes they are “globalists” they loath the American way – constitutionally constrained government and personal freedom and liberty – as any commie would – but they sure love corporate monopolists an insider money and they are aligned with the large moneyed interests which they have opened the public treasury to and to whom they give political immunity/influence in economic and public policy. They are in pith and substance fascists.
