Julian Fantino, who’s riding is over 4-hours to Ottawa spends almost $40,000 less in expenditures than Justin Trudeau, who’s riding is less than an hour from Ottawa.

For a second there I thought Justin might be using the public purse for travelling to his private, paid speaking engagements but then I realized that would be wrong so he couldn’t be doing that.
They overpay the limo driver on purpose and he gives them half back in cash.
Or weed if you’re an ultimate frisbee coach and substitute drama teacher who can’t work up a tear at his own fathers funeral.
Mick is dead? When? How?
Off to the whosegow with you.
Off topic, but, the CPC has WAY more trouble than expense accounts; MP Brent Rathgeber has resigned from the Tory caucus after they altered his transparency Bill, raising the sum from 188k to 329k,leaving almost no transparency for government employees.
I can’t see any way this action on Rathgeber’s Bill can be defended.
Whose hose? Who’s loose? He chose to lose.
English spelling: it’s its own worst enemy.
It can’t be DM.
It’s the work of political egos in Ottawa …. both on the committee studying his bill and on Rathgeber’s part.
Rathgeber’s bill was accepted just to pacify his need for self justification. Unfortunately it was also a good idea.
It would be interesting to see who was on that committee and what they did.
Anyway …. back to JTs expenses …. that’d make Fantino just less of a parasite than the pony boy.
Is the CPC trying to loos the next election???
While neither the PM, or “da leader of da tird parti” are lawyers (praise be),
it is important to understand that they essentially function as CEOs of two law
firms in fierce competition, Guvlaw vs Tirdpartilaw. While voters sometimes cause
them to swap the places and signs where they conduct business on behalf of clients,
it is helpful to remember that while the bodies change places, most of the huge heap
of BS promises made to get back into power while in opposition are left behind.
Not fair, the shiny pony is the leader of the turd party an he has to flit across the land to let the commoners run their fingers through his hair and be dazzled by his whinny.
Hi the Old Liberal Cougars don’t mind the taxpayers subsidizing their stud fees for the Shiny Gelding. He is the most bestus and the most smartest in all the Universez’s. The Shiny Gelding is not the problem with his Lisp. Its the Idiots that will vote for and donate to the Gelding that are the real problem.
Correct me if I’m wrong, and I’m often wrong, just ask my wife, but turdeau the younger didn’t become leader until recently. As a lowly (and I emphasize lowly) MP, how could he be expensing cross country travel to the taxpayer?
I’m starting to get the same feeling I had in 2008,when all the conservative bloggers were teeing off on Obama and shouting that he had NO chance against military hero McCain. By June,I was convinced Obama had it won.
Stephen Harper has to return to his Reform roots and become again the man we elected to run the Country.
Gutting Rathgeber’s Bill is just another in too many unsatisfactory responses to issues, example the notorious Chretien era Firearms Act,which the Conservatives haven’t just put on the backburner,it’s no longer in the kitchen. And,etc.,etc.,etc.
We keep us this bullsh*t and we ARE going to see another Trudeau in the PM’s Office.
I’m going to go search for a comfy cave in the hills around here.
Have you SEEN Fantino? Compare him to Justin. Shampoo and conditioner are expensive, you know.
Don’t forget though, Obama won due to voter fraud in both elections. Turdeau may not have that luxury in a Canadian election.
Shiny gelding….good one.
I suspect we will never know what motivated Rathgeber but having a private members bill altered in committee is hardly new stuff. Maybe he set the plate to produce this result or maybe he just didn’t know what he was doing? Just askin’.
Mp’s like Senators have travel expenses available to them, with not many restrictions. Jr could use his like Pam Wallin appears to have used hers. Travelling to board meetings on the public dime all-the-while collecting corporate fees. In jr’s case he was mearly attending speaking engagements(paid of course).
“. In jr’s case he was mearly attending speaking engagements(paid of course). ” If that’s the case, that’s a bigger scam than anything Duffy has done. Someone should investigate.
Goody for Fantino, you what’s more important? Fantino supporting race based policing and the terrorizing of citizens by native terrorists. He also supports natives handing out “passports” to Canadians that they have to show at native checkpoints. Fantino is a F******* **@#^%!@%$ #%@#%%. He also won his seat in the last election. Funny how there are hardly any real freedom supporting conservatives in this country. I have learned that just because someone is in the conservative party doesn’t mean they are conservative.
One of the committee members is my MP. I contacted her recently in support of Rathgeber’s bill and the limitations he originally sought. I followed up 2 days ago reiterating this.
This morning I sent her an email expressing my complete disappointment in her. I am a member of her riding association and reminded her continued support would be contingent on
paying attention to those who sent her to Ottawa. What ever happened to the Reform party??
“…Fantino…spends almost $40,000 less in expenditures than Justin Trudeau…”
Well yes, of course.
Fantino doesn’t have to pay a hairdresser and a cosmetician!
I don’t think so. We need to know how much money is wasted or properly spent. Rathberger is right to walk away. If nothing else, this transparency bill would have shown the public that the Harper government was serious about this problem.
As for Trudeau, what does one expect from a simpleton who takes money from schools?
Justin must be taking the long way home..
Yeah, it makes no sense that the party leader (or an aspiring one on the campaign trail) would have more expenses than a regular MP.
I’m all for transparency of MP’s expenses. I’m also not for getting my panties in a knot over every last item. But hey… if you guys think this takes attention away from the Senate scandal, by all means… chatter away.
The Expenditures Report is for 2011 to 2012 genius.
“But hey… if you guys think this takes attention away from the Senate scandal, by all means… chatter away. ”
Since you consider this as an attempt to take attention away from the Senate scandal, it shows that lefties such as yourself, don’t really care about politicians misappropriating funds. Just the ones you don’t like.
Cat, you get a bingo for that.
Well said Don. I am having the same feelings, as where did the Reform Party I supported from the beginning go. I think it got Ottawashed. Jeff Courier, taking Adler’s place while Charles is on holidays, says the CPC is behaving like the old time Liberal Party. I agree with Jeff.
The bureaucrats and old PC party hacks have told the former Reformers how things really work in Ottawa.
Thanks,Ken.I like that term you used,”Ottawashed”.
I think it’s appropriate to far too many MP’s who start out with the best of intentions. I supported the Reform Party, only went with the Cons when they amalgamated.
I sent Rathgeber a supportive E-mail this morning.
A choice between Fantino of Caledonia, and Justin de Papineau is like choosing between smallpox and ebola.
You are not supposed to charge party expenses to the taxpayers. Parties have funds to support their leader, and leadership candidates raise funds to run for the leadership.
No need for you to turn this into a crime.
Bastards at CTV Newsnet said they asked the protesters who they worked for but that the protesters didn’t stick around to answer their questions.
Perhaps this is a good development? Maybe they’ll ask all protesters where they get their money from? Like what taxpayer-supported ‘charities’ looking for more hand-outs has hired them?
Bravo, Catoclysmos. Excellent retorts.
“…A choice between Fantino of Caledonia, and Justin de Papineau is like choosing between smallpox and ebola.”
He, heeeeeeeee, Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee………
Yup. Chief Shaking Rabbit or Prince Turdo la Doo.
