Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

The more I hear him speak the more I like this guy. It’s refreshing to hear someone talk using common sense. Unfortunately common sense ain’t so common anymore.
When the absurd becomes reality what does it mean?
One thing not done often enough in polling is asking questions of respondents that help determine the persons level of knowledge about the topic in question. In this case finding out how much the person being polled know about the details of obamacarre and health insurance in general. My guess is that there is a direct corellation between depth of knowledge and opposition to obamacare. (much as a i daresay there was a strong correlation between support for romney and PMSH and knowledge of politics in their respective countries)
Conservatives need to work that to their advantage at every opportunity. And Rand Paul does a good job of it, except he’s making that speech to an audience that is essentially already 100% opposed to obamacare already.
Burning water skis? How fast do you have to be going?
Rand Paul hates macaw and turtle pet-owners and there’s a Republican war on pet owners.
“Rand Paul hates macaw and turtle pet-owners and there’s a Republican war on pet owners.”
Huh???? Got a link? Don’t why he hates macaws and turtles. They make great side dishes!
The architects of Obama-care must have had a lot of fun consciously designing this monstrosity of fascism to intentionally overwhelm and destroy the US health care system in order to make single payer health care the only surviving alternative. No rational person with any knowledge of Obama-care could actually believe it to be otherwise. Obama, in a rare leakage of honesty, has said as much.
I should have added the sarcasm tag, I guess. I was trying to point out how quickly Democrats ramp up their venom and accusations every time a Republican says anything.
Agreed.
People not only don’t know what Obamacare entails, they don’t know how costly it is and that it doesn’t cover certain things. This attempt at universal healthcare is a boondoggle at best and the American voter is blissfully unaware. The voter must be challenged and informed.
Mark Steyn was pretty gloomy about this back in March of 2010: ” . . . the polls show most people opposed to it, but, if that mattered, the Dems wouldn’t be doing what they’re doing. Their bet is that it can’t be undone, and that over time, as I’ve been saying for years now, governmentalized health care not only changes the relationship of the citizen to the state but the very character of the people. As I wrote in NR recently, there’s plenty of evidence to support that from Britain, Canada, and elsewhere . . . Five years from now, just as in Canada and Europe two generations ago, we’ll be getting used to announcements of defense cuts to prop up the unsustainable costs of big government at home. And, as the superpower retrenches, America’s enemies will be quick to scent opportunity. Longer wait times, fewer doctors, more bureaucracy, massive IRS expansion, explosive debt, the end of the Pax Americana. . .”
The Dems are counting on Obamacare shifting the whole population left-ward. They don’t care how poorly the new health care system will actually function or how unaffordable it is.
Deb, U give the DemoCRAPS too much credit, they are emotionalists and not deep strategic thinkers, much of what they “accomplish” is sheer accident rather than by design. Destroying a capitalist democratic country can be done a various ways, and stupidity will usually tap into one of those ways!!!
If we can take the Senate back in 2014 Obamacare will be gutted.
