Forward!

WaPo;

Court documents in the Kim case reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010. The case also raises new concerns among critics of government secrecy about the possible stifling effect of these investigations on a critical element of press freedom: the exchange of information between reporters and their sources.

  1. I suppose the MSM may be concerned the truth about how complicit they are to the
    Socialist machine may be surfacing.
It will take a huge MAJORITY of citizens to scare enough elected Dems into
    acting in a responsible manner.

  2. I think that even with this, it may be too late. I’m thinking that the good old “For the good of the state” crackdown on all Obama opponents is just about ready to happen. 2700 armoured personnel carriers??? Looks to me that the end game is close.

  3. I wouldn’t read too much into this as a cathartic moment for the consensus media. Most of the fourth estate has become the fifth column and has seeded public opinion with all the agendas of the power structure of the day. To maintain this role they must appear to still function as a public watch dog. If they continue their unquestioning servitude to this rogue regime (which now has a public profile bursting with high crimes and anti American activity) their true bias will become blatant – even to the food stamp ‘Bamaphone cult.
Just manufacturing some plausible deniability with some purely symbolic gestures, as the fifth column propagandsist formula dictates.

  4. So we’re sure it’s just the Associated Press, and FOX news.
But it’s not MSNBC, NBC, CBS, ABC, or CNN.
We’re sure of this. ( a hint of sarc.)

  5. Stay tuned. I think snooping on the media has more potential to grow legs than the IRS scandal. This will stoke paranoia in the media and increase distrust of the administration. You can bet money that CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC (maybe not MSNBC) are looking for evidence of any monitoring by the Justice Dept. Likewise, they may be less hesitant to investigate and report any new revelations. I suspect these scandals are just the tip of the iceberg; there is much more out there.

  6. Obama’s Tipping America into a singularity event.
He has the gravity of evil.
There probably won’t be an election in 2016.
As one commenter said behind the walls of the MSM, Justice department & internal police agencies , he’s had years to corrupt them all.
Even he realises the moment for absolute control is at hand.
No one has come this close to destroying America. Its Constitution or Liberties.
This is the foulest USA Administration in History.
Of that there is no doubt.

  7. This has legs because it’s about the media themselves, and as such they’ll keep this story going far longer than than Benghazi or the IRS. That’s a sad commentary on the media, but if this is what it takes to get them to do their job, so be it.
The Obama administration made a huge mistake by targeting a journalist. Had they left well enough alone, the press would have continued to carry water for Obama. The compliant media has been neglected and ignored by Obama, but like abused spouses they could rationalize that he still loved them. But this? Regardless of their politics, the MSM membership is bright enough to realize they could be next (or if they’re still True Believers in the Messiah, that it will set a precedent that the next Republican president will use), and have taken personal umbrage.

  8. Reporters used to go to jail for refusing to reveal their sources.
Now, even when the source is found, the reporter has been accused of participating in a criminal activity.

  9. Given the moral fiber of the average journo, the only thing that has them mobilized like a busted wasp nest, is the fact that J. Edgar now has recordings of them contacting their hookers, bookies and snort dealers.
They have little or no love of the 1st amendment when the feds silence their competitors, but hey just get the goods on their secret lifestyle and , hey, it’s all of a sudden criminal.

  10. @NME666:
    Perhaps you could elaborate?
Roosevelt was President when I was born, and Obama is undoubtedly by far the worst in my lifetime.
    By far.

  11. There’s no such thing as a scandal for a guy who could bite the heads off babies on live TV and still poll at 50%.

…But if you’ve been watching the polls, well, you wouldn’t know anything has been going wrong at all. You might even think President Obama was having a good week.
Obama was at 49 percent in last week’s Gallup poll. He’s at 49 percent in this week’s Gallup poll. CNN gave Obama even better news. A poll conducted on Friday and Saturday — so, peak scandal days — found the president’s approval rating at 53 percent. That’s a slight increase from their last poll, which was conducted in April and found Obama’s approval at 51 percent.

  12. Fear not,RD,there will be an election in 2016,and every four years with monotonous regularity thereafter.
The US government is so much theater for the masses, a Democrat leaves,a like minded Republican takes over and continues the same policies with minor tweaks to satisfy his constituency.
The one good thing about the Obama administration is it’s showed the peasants just who really runs the Country, and it isn’t a Kenyan nobody and his band of fellow Marxists.

  13. If we think this is bad, wait until of regime is inevitably forced to default on it’s hug debt, which can never be repaid and yet, still keeps growning. Then true chaos will ensue. Some rocky roads ahead, to be sure. And the spillover will assuredly affect us in Canada. For myself, I’m buying more gold.

  14. try Johnson, Nixon, G Bush 1, and maybe Ford, do a little research, U may git a big surprise!!!!!

  15. In a nutshell, from the Reason link: “At its heart, the allegation that Rosen broke the law ‘at the very least, either as an aider, abettor and/or co-conspirator’ is based on nothing more than meeting with and asking questions of government adviser Stephen Jin-Woo Kim, who told him the non-shocking information that North Korea could very well respond to United Nations sanctions with more nuclear tests.”
