  3. The most recent scare announcement is that CO2 levels are back where they were 3 million years ago. Which speaks of total insensitivity to CO2. That three million year period spans three quarters of the history of genus Homo.
    These “scientists” are total frauds. The most carefully made warming prediction is that of IPCC 7, and it disagrees with the temperatures since it appeared. Furthermore, the discrepancy is reaching three sigmas, judging from the graph on Watts Up With That. To anyone who has the least scientific training that means the theoretical prediction is on the verge of being refuted. REFUTED. Sorry kiddies but that is the way science works. There is also dangerous and destructive lack of skill in mesoscale predictions, which has done no good at all for the UK elderly. There is that nice paper, discussed here, in which a standard Fourier analysis showed six frequencies as work, with negligible residual for AGW.
    That plus the lack of rise in oceanic sea levels means AGW is without foundation. You might as well believe in turnip ghosts.

    WRT CO2 sensitivity, which only lives in models projecting climate disaster “sometime in the future,” no matter how much perfume you put on that dog, it’s still a dog.

  9. This is the most mind-numbingly stupid response imaginable. Of course CO2 is essential to life, but the point is that too much of the stuff traps heat in the atmosphere and cause the climate to go wacky. It’s not that hard a concept to grasp. But I guess it is for some.
    And even if climate change from increased CO2 levels wasn’t an issue, it’s creating another problem, ocean acidification, which will have massive ramifications for the food chain. (Psst… we rely on the food chain, for, you know, food. Which we eat to live)

  11. But peterj you didn’t mention FEEEEEDBACK. That’s what their models tell them – CO2 reflects, refracts, absorbs, emits, remits and perhaps even bends itself to punch WAAAAY above its anthropogenic weight – beyond physics in fact – probably about a kajillion percent, heating the earth’s core by millions of degrees and thus, giving Gaia’s gift a FEEEVER. We know it’s true, it’s been PROVEN, yep that’s right SETTLED SCIENCE. It’s not junk science at all where you don’t even try to disprove your hypothesis so mistakenly assume validation. Right? No wait a minute.
    Anyway, you’ll see sometime in the future they’ll be right, unless we can escape the tipping point by only letting competitors to Canadian produce or use fossil fuels. Nope, it’s not dirty coal it’s dirty, sewer Canadian oil, cause we emit like 2% of human totals; no scratch that, we emit like a really big PER CAPITA(LISM) PERCENTAGE, almost as bad a Yemen, and everybody’s on their case right?
    C’mon peterj get with the program, mature up, become more evolved, suspend your common sense and relieve yourself all over your intellect. Honest it will feel good. Like Kyoto it won’t do s**t for environment, but it will still feel groovy to know you CAAAARE.

  12. Appreciate you setting me straight. When one considers we have the second largest country in the world, with one of the smallest populations , and countries like china , India etc. pollute more in one week than we do in a year, it gets a bit annoying to have these tree hugging fools try to take us back to the stone age in the name of Gaia. It must be a new age thing because our parents were endowed with at least a semblance of common sense. Completely missing in these granola crunching, foam at the mouth tree huggers.
