  1. May God continue to bless Canada’s best friend, President Donald J. Trump, and the United States of America.

    1. The best friend that’s trying to strip Canada’s entire auto sector from it? That best friend?

      1. All Canada has to do is stop nailing their own dicks to the floor and come to the negotiating table in good faith. Every other country has a trade deal with the US right now except us. That’s not Trump’s fault.

        1. Canada does have a trade deal with Trump. It’s called USMCA. Tump insisted on it and signed it himself, calling it the best deal ever.

The US is currently in violation of the USMCA through tariffs on Canadian steel, aluminium, automobiles, and auto parts.

That’s what Canada is up against; negotiating a trade deal with someone who doesn’t care about upholding current trade deals he himself signed.

          1. It’s called it expires in a few months, and given the BS from Carney and his collectivist cabal clinging to their Quebec dairy monopoly and chicken little Trump/USA haters, it will be cancelled by Trump, which is precisely what the regressive progressives want so they can pretend to “pivot” to Europe – aka create another excuse for their failures (like a BC pipeline, with a veto given to the Shushwapofiction Rotary Club), apparently to increase our trade there 20 fold, stirring Grit ghosts of the “Third Option,” aka buying Leopard tanks and nothing else, where unlike now with European Values Carney unconstrained by Mitchell Sharp or a PET, who actually had a miniscule care for economics – starting with an idiotic Gripen purchase, saddling our military again with substandard equipment, pretending to be increasing defense spending, while conning the West with an MOU.

Just that so no big deal.

          2. You’ve never heard of NFL stars renegotiating their contracts? Even sitting out of team activities to get a new deal?

Nothing is permanent… esp. when existing agreements are flaunted and broken

          3. It’s called Darwinism, KM. Canada is the sick old antelope, so it get’s eaten by the lions. This is 50 years of socialism, 50 years of freeloading, and 50 years of protecting the cartels in Ontario and Quebec from competition at the expense of ordinary Canadians come home to roost. If Canada was the world’s largest exporter of hydrocarbons, mineral wealth, lumber and know how, would anyone give a crap what Trump did? And would he have done it? No and No.

Canada has self destructed to the point where someone was going to finish it, TG it is the US.

        2. “All Canada has to do is stop nailing their own dicks to the floor and come to the negotiating table in good faith”

Well said, Daniel. Mark Carney’s idiotic responses have only made things worse for Canada. His “Elbows Up!” strategy managed to get him elected by playing to the TDS crowd (hi KM!), but then reality came crashing in.

Instead of mollifying President Donald Trump by making any effort to deal with sticking points like dairy, steel and aluminum, illegal immigration and drug trafficking across the border, Carney decided to puff himself up like a little bantam rooster and publicly antagonize Trump instead. A BAD MISTAKE…and one that was guaranteed to fail miserably.

People who insist that Canada should “fight Trump” on this are morons (hi KM!). Fight *with what*, exactly? We are the mouse in bed with the elephant here…we could maybe inconvenience four or five border states with trade sanctions, while the US could plunge Canada into a recession practically overnight if they chose to do so.

Poking a pit bull with a stick might seem like great fun until he snaps the chain holding him back. Mark Carney will be on his knees for this next round of ‘negotiations’, and it is totally his own fault.

          1. Just as PDJT told Zelensky he can keep fighting a losing battle against Russia and keep getting his own people slaughtered … or sign on to the Trump Peace Deal. So too Canada can keep sinking into an economic abyss … and slaughter the Canadian people economically… or … come to the negotiating table in good faith.

          2. Agree with Shamrock that wounds are self inflicted, trade deal up for renewal and European third option is a failed dream. Actually EU is a bureaucratic nightmare to avoid.

      2. Canada has been sleeping on America’s couch, drinking its beer, driving its car, and has been on a generous allowance from the American Taxpayer for generations. Daddy Trump kicked you out of the house like a 40 year old teenager, but alas offered you a plum profitable position in Daddy Trump’s company. Canada the insolent ignorant spoiled 40 year old teenager told Daddy Trump to fuck off because he wanted you to sign an employment contract and treat you like a responsible adult.

So to you I say, grow up and take responsibility for your own actions and inactions.

        1. ” Canada the insolent ignorant spoiled 40 year old teenager told Daddy Trump to f##k off because he wanted you to sign an employment contract and treat you like a responsible adult.”

          100%. It’s about time, too.

“So to you I say, grow up and take responsibility for your own actions and inactions.”

          Hear, hear.

      3. It’s up to the Liberals…..every problem that Canada now faces has been caused by Canada. Canada should align as closely as possible to Trump’s economic policies because they are the correct ones. And we need to stop protecting the idiotic supply management crap that benefits Quebec primarily.

By the way, the Canadian auto industry has always existed only because the U.S. has allowed it to.

        1. Is this where I say the Dow is UP 400 points today and the Nasdaq is UP 200 points?

Not to worry that is where Carney has all his personal investments. So he’s doing a GREAT job looking after his own finances!

        2. “every problem that Canada now faces has been caused by Canada.”

Horseshit. Yes, the Liberals made plenty of mistakes under Trudeau that crippled our economy. But Trump is responsible for his tariffs.

          1. ” But Trump is responsible for his tariffs.”

Yes, the tariffs that are designed to level the playing field and create economic prosperity FOR HIS NATION, not ours. Why do you still struggle with such a basic, common-sense concept?

(oh, wait…don’t answer that; everyone who reads your posts already knows why…)

The Liberals under the ridiculously inept leadership of Mark Carney have botched this issue right from the start, when they thought they could use good old Liberal anti-Americanism to fire up their base and lure some gullible uncommitted voters to their side. Great strategy until *after* the election, when they ended up going to Washington a week later to grovel, plead and pray that Donald Trump would be in a forgiving mood. We all know how that turned out, don’t we? IDIOTS, all of the “Elbows Up!” lunatics who supported and encouraged this fiasco.

Joey B is correct: this is COMPLETELY self-inflicted. I am embarrassed to be Canadian, and be represented by such delusional, self-aggrandizing morons.

          2. “Level the playing field”

Yeah, as if United States is a victim and patsy of international trade. Except it’s not. Until Trump took office last January, Canada kept to its USMCA conditions very well. It’s the US which tended to violate it with tariffs on lumber and steel.

      4. The Canadian Auto sector? I know of Auto companies brands native to the US, the UK, Italy, Germany, France, Japan and South Korean, but Canada???

What’s the world famous Canadian Auto Company? Canada does NOT have one. So that means you just have assembly plants owned by foreigners who can move them wherever they want. ANYWHERE!!!

Canada does make jet planes: Bombardier and de Havilland
Canada does make nice buses and Class A Motor homes: Prevost

So Yellow Bellied Marmot, stop talking and whining and start an auto manufacturer in Canada. Elon Musk did it recently in the US.

Just stop your Communist Politicians from screwing over your country that is exporting illegal drugs that are killing Americans – check out Canada’s great website for details: “The Bureau.” Your RCMP is in on it by doing nothing as is your court system. Trump is protecting Americans.

There is an urgent job opening for you: Venezuelan drug boat captain. One way trip!!!
Free at sea burial if they can find your burnt body pieces. Have fun!!

Carney is lying to you, dude. As we say in the US: FAFO.

      5. Canada’s auto sector has been on the taxpayer dime since before NAFTA, they just can not exist without taxpayer cash. We will now throw billions of dollars to the same groups through EV battery fakery…..it would be cheaper to just pay them to stay home. Millions of taxpayer cash went into the St.Therese plant in K-bec long after the affordability of the plant had past.

      6. Canada the insolent ignorant spoiled 40 year old teenager told Daddy Trump to take off because he wanted you to sign an employment contract and treat you like a responsible adult. So to you I say, grow up and take responsibility for your own actions and inactions.

      7. yep. its called tough love. google it. as opposed to the namby pamby schtuff where nothing is learned.

    1. The foreign owned “Canadian” auto sector. Hasn’t been the same since Col Sam sold out to General Motors.

      1. There are some big Canadian-owned auto parts manufactuers in Ontario: Magna, Linamar, Martinrea, and so on.

But who owns them is not the main point. The main point is that the auto manufacturing sector adds a crap load to the economy.

        1. And why should President Trump care about the economic health of the Red Chinese puppet state next door? Much less try to negotiate in good faith?

Any Canadian province that really wants free trade with the US is free to ask Trump his terms for admitting the province into the union. I shan’t hold my breath.

        2. And why should President Trump care about the economic health of the Red Chinese puppet state next door? Much less try to negotiate in good faith?

So we’ve gone from “Canada’s best friend” to “Why should Trump care about Canada?”

Perhaps he shouldn’t. Just don’t call him a friend when he’s kicking Canada in the teeth.

          1. You do a lot of whining. And the question “Why should Trump care about Canada?”, why should he. He is looking out for the country that elected him. A lesson that a moron like Carney should learn.

          2. Canada needs to clean up the Chinese money laundering, Mexican/Chinese drug manufacturing and smuggling operations and the corrupt border operation. It would also help a lot if we stopped importing jihadis who then sneak over the border into the USA. Canada has not been a great friend to the USA. We’re arrogant, snot nosed, self righteous pigs who need to be taken down a few pegs and forced to face reality.

          3. “when he’s kicking Canada in the teeth.” it only feels like that because of the weak feckless Canadians with a highly inflated sense of self….Canada has been bush league ever since WWII

        3. Well that is going to disappear. And it is all on the Liberals. Those parts manufacturers only exist because the U.S. has allowed them to for decades.

        4. Only a fraction of what Alberta Oil and Gas adds to the economy and Alberta has been playing with one hand tied behind it’s back.

    2. The auto manufacturing sector that…

o Has $55 billion in annual revenue.
      o Directly employs 130,000 people.
o Directly and indirectly provides 600,000 jobs.
o Makes up 10% of Canada’s manufacturing GDP.

      That auto sector.

      1. That has sucked wealth out of Western Canada while providing very few jobs here. We, in the West are better off buying cars built elsewhere.

        1. The Ontario auto sector doesn’t suck wealth out of Western Canada. Economics isn’t a zero-sum game. An affluent Ontario generally benefits Western Canada.

Canada does not have tariffs on Japanese and South Korean cars, so Western Canadians are not having to pay more for automobiles to support Ontario’s auto sector

        2. Of course, we in BC could always buy the bits and pieces from the “Canadian auto sector”, and build our own cars I suppose?

          1. Well you could try, but you would be bankrupt in 2 weeks. The Canadian market is far too small to support our own auto industry. Although I guess we could try to manufacture Soviet junk vehicles like the Lada and Moskvitch. That would be fitting for Liberals and the NDP, I guess.

      2. The correct response would be to thank America for all it has done for you in the past and offer your services for the future. It is not your auto sector. It belongs to the USA. It has been on loan and now we want our lawnmower back. Ingrate.

        1. It belongs to the USA.

Utter horseshit. That’s not how economies work. No country has exclusive rights to an industry.

          1. Well, the Canadian auto industry only exists as an appendage to the U.S. auto industry which the U.S. companies and government has allowed to exist. Canada is far too small to have its own domestic auto industry. Trump is showing you how economies work.

          2. semantics.
the ‘Cdn auto sector’ came into existence when it was convenient.
it no longer is. time to hit the reset button. heyo Canaduh you 158 year old infant.
learn to walk. learn to parlay HUGE resources into a ‘Singapore’ success story, but NOOOOO,
gotta cater to kaybeck kaybeck kaybeck. Trump ISNT the problem. the problemo is Canaduh is being run but corrupt amateurs. its the amateurishness that ‘necessitates’ the corruption to effect the usual prestigeous advantages of the ‘natural ruling party’.

  2. So the Washington, Georgia, and Florida cases are gone. All three New York cases are still active at some level. The real estate fraud case damages have been reduced to NIL and the case will likely be killed on further appeal. The Bragg case, again with no penalties, is such a bizarre mix of statute barred state and federal law that it has to be dismissed on appeal. The E. Jean Carroll lawsuit, a plot swiped directly from Law and Order, Special Victims Unit, is the most incredible case where Trump was accused of raping someone in a department store dressing room at some point over a 15 year period with no evidence. Because the E. Jean Carroll case was decided by a jury, it may be the hardest to overturn although the damages may very well be reduced. There is likely a problem with similar fact evidence that relied on Trump’s non-criminal morality that could lead to a retrial.

    1. Re: E.Jean Carroll the mental patient used to GET Trump … YES … a judge can overturn a jury verdict through a judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV) if they determine that no reasonable jury could have reached that verdict based on the evidence presented. This is rare, as judges typically respect jury decisions unless there are clear grounds for reversal, such as insufficient evidence or legal errors.

No clearer grounds have ever been as obvious demanding such a reversal. As there was ZERO evidence ever presented to establish her claim. And she is demonstrably an outpatient mental case.

      1. I wish the public had the minimum of half a brain required to see the pattern in leftist complaints of sexual harassment, assault or rape by publicly known conservatives.

They never come close to pinning down a narrow time period when the offense happened, because as public figures it is a lot easier to check their past schedules to see if they possibly had an alibi.

These circuses are always in places like congressional hearings or civil trials, because even a leftist DA isn’t going to try an actual criminal case where the victim can’t remember the year it happened.

        1. But Judge West, rather than upholding the jury’s verdict, claimed the case hinged on circumstantial evidence and offered “other reasonable inferences” for the billing irregularities, arguing prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Yusuf was personally responsible for the fraud. She issued a judgment of acquittal.

Speaking of making things up ..,

      2. When Ms. Caroll couldn’t come up with the right year that these ”infractions” supposedly took place I’m left to wonder about the verdict

        1. Reminded me immediately of that one that accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, but couldn’t remember where it happened, or when, or who she was with (Christine Blasy-Ford, I think?).

          Ridiculous.

  3. But … has Fanny been disbarred yet? She shouldn’t be any functional part of our judicial system EVER again.

  4. Back to Killer and the “Canadian” auto sector. It was sometimes noted during the “Free Trade” debate in the Mulroney years that in the parking lots at Canadian manufacturing plants there were more Honda’s and Toyota’s than the U.S. brands assembled inside the plants.

  5. Canada’s merchandise trade surplus with the United States amounted to $102.3 billion for the year 2024, a narrowing compared with the surplus of $108.3 billion observed in 2023.
Trade issues are fiendishly complicated with non-tariff factor often the main problem. Requiring bilingual packaging is not necessarily to appease separatists – it is to keep Americans out.
Techniocal standards can achieve the same goal. Europeans fight GMO modified foods to keep the Yankees out – not because they are dangerous.
Trump rationally says if there ‘s a significant persistent trade imbalance, he’s going to do somethig about it. And he can.

    1. Canada will always have a surplus with the US. We send the US mostly primary products and import mostly manufactured goods. Putting tariffs on Canadian primary products make American manufactured goods more expensive and harder to compete with alternatives. I am amazed how the idiot Trump thinks Canada is somehow an enemy when we manufacture almost nothing. We manufacture cars in a portion of the market not far out of line with our consumption.
