30 Replies to “Free Pam Geller!”

  1. I expect this sort of behavior, of one rule for some people, another rule for other people, from some people…
Then they deny there’s any link between the two, the lies pile up, pretty soon the Leafs are in the second round of the playoffs and it’s all good times – good times.
    good catch there Justthinkin.

  2. Separation of church and state? Not in this regressed backwater of police-state repression. If there was even a wisp of passion for freedom left in that Synagogue, they’d sue those cops back to Nuremberg.

  3. Just a thought: Going down the route of blaming his behaviour on his religion is a poor tactic. We all know that MANY non-Muslims in Canada would be just as happy to shut up and shut out Pam Geller, Mark Steyn, Ezra Levant, and pretty much everyone else they disagree with.
By identifying these actions with a “Muslim” police officer, I think you’re giving a de facto pass to non-Muslim police officers to do pretty much the same heinous actions.
It’s the mindset that must change, not the religion.

  4. Doesn’t Canada have laws specifically designed to prevent this sort of thing?
Isn’t Ricky Veerappan’s successful attempt to intimidate a rabbi illegal?
Isn’t any official attempt to silence a well-known and widely admired visiting speaker illegal?
This stinks to HIgh Heaven, as my saintly Mother used to say, and someone farther up the ladder than Ricky Veerappan ought to intervene and put a stop to it.

  5. The fact that “Ricky” knew he could intimidate the Rabbi and get away with it speaks volumes about what goes on at York Regional.
A couple of years ago when Ann Coulter came to speak in Canada on University grounds there was a huge ‘uproar’ instigated by the usual suspects and fostered and egged on by more famous and influential suspects in the background.
Campus police shuts down the speech rather than throw the rabble out, effectively silencing opinion the University establishment do not like.
A University spokeswoman from Ottawa told Megan Kelly on Fox News that ” Canada does not have freedom of speech like you do in the states.” Thereby revealing her ignorance of the Canadian constitution and her own bias.
The idea that protesters get to frame the debate into NO debate at all has to stop. More and more there is only one opinion allowed and if that opinion differs from theirs it is not allowed to be spoken or mentioned.
We have to stop putting up with it.

  6. Why would this man have a job tomorrow morning? He has shamed the nation, he has threatened a holy man and he has slandered a fine lady. He is not fit to wipe their shoes! Get rid of him and any of his ilk who were in on this black eye to Canada.

  7. When Pamela Geller speaks in Toronto condemning the second class status of women under Islam. Condemning “Honour Killings” and the Chapter and Verse in the Koran prescribing the beating of disobedient wives(Chapter 4:34), she will be the strongest defender of women’s right to equality in Canada.
Just as she was in arranging for a commemorative headstone for murdered Aqsa Parvez.
If the GTA or Greater Toronto Area does not form a group of Canadian women, who will rise up and challenge the imposition of Sharia Law here. Soon it will become known as the LTA or Lesser Toronto Area.
“In this Clash of Civilizations, we shall fight Islamo-fascism in the fields, in the streets, and in the harbours, in the air and on the railway lines.
    We shall never surrender!”

  8. Robert, I think Veerappan is more likely to be a Sihk than a moslem name. Maybe Hindu?
    Cheers, E

  9. Cross-posted @ Steynonline, 2/5/13:
Ricky Veerappan: “Some of the stuff that Ms. Geller speaks about runs contrary to the values of York Regional Police.”
Exactly the line that most repulsed me, Mark, and for exactly the same reasons.
I think I’ll write to Inspector Veerappen [I did!] to remind him that his job — for which he is paid almost $150,000 per annum — is to uphold the law, not foist “the values of the York Regional Police” on the public. There’s a lot of “stuff” promoted by the Muslim community in their own backyard, like FMG, arranged marriages, Shari’a, and jihad, that run contrary to Canada’s small-l liberal democratic laws, “stuff” it would behoove Insp. Veerappen and the York Regional Police to look into,
One gets the feeling that the York Regional Police take their orders from Muslims and one has to wonder why.
The great irony is that it’s Christians and Jews, not Muslims, who have substantially contributed to Canada’s history and civic life; it’s our shared values that are the foundation of Canada’s public institutions and democratic freedoms. What has Islam ever contributed to Canada’s democracy or Canadians’ freedoms? It has, in fact, put them in jeopardy. Sadly, Muslims — the vast majority, newcomers to Canada — are abusing Canada’s generosity and hospitality.
So why, pray tell, are the York Regional Police defending their sensibilities while trampling all over those of the rest of us?

  10. Eric: “I think Veerappan is more likely to be a Sihk than a moslem name. Maybe Hindu?”
No, the point is, Veerappan is Muslim and that’s a fact. Check out the Ottawa Citizen’s editorial of a few days ago.

  11. I hear that Paul Magdar and Clayton Ruby aren’t doing too much these days. Guys, just for fun, and something new and completely different, how about teaming up again for a complaint that actually, you know, means something? Like under the Police Services Act against “Inspector”, er, Clouseau-Veerappan?
I mean really, it’s right there in the Toronto area, you won’t have to go to Ottawa to appeal if you lose — and besides which, it’d have all the convoluted minutiae that you guys love and regularly mistake for important stuff (the difference in this case, though, compared with your past efforts, is that you’d actually really have a case on principle this time). Just a thought.
But seriously, I would go with a complaint under the Police Services Act. This clown’s not a cop — he’s a parody of a cop. Who does he think he is, anyway? Idi Amin Dada (you know, the last King of Scotland)? Notice any similarity? Images here:
    http://ca.images.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?_adv_prop=image&fr=yhs-avg-0001&va=Idi+Amin+Dada&hspart=avg&hsimp=yhs-0001
The law enforcement lobby/”community” needs to re-orient it’s posture and breath clean air on this one, especially the senior management of the particular police “force” in question. This guy is making you all look like idiots.

  12. “…the values of York Regional Police and the work we do in engaging our communities…”
    Note to York Region’s finest:
If you’re going to write pathetic baby-shit, get it right.
There is absolutely no excuse for omitting the words ‘celebrate’, ’embrace’, ‘diverse’ and ‘inclusive’ in that insipid little sentence.

  13. Shaking down a Jewish–rabbi doesn’t sound all that engaging to me, but then again I’m no liberal. They can’t take away our liberties and freedoms if we stand together against liberal tyranny.

  14. I went to the trouble of looking up the “Vision and Values” of the York Regional Police here:
    http://www.yrp.ca/vv.aspx
I couldn’t find any statement there that I could use if I were trying to justify the actions of Inspector Veerappan.
    I challenge anybody else to.

  15. Canada no longer has free speech like they do in the United States. The recent Supreme Court decision in the Waldcott case has taken care of that. It has put unreasonable limits on both freedom of speech and religion which have, until recently, been taken for granted under our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. I am in the process of writing the Prime Minister about it in the hope that the Supreme Court decision can be reversed.

  16. Gotta dis-agree,Robert W. Islam is NOT a religion, but a supremacist death cult. And “religion” does not give anybody a pass to rob us of our freedoms.

  17. News flash, Chief: I don’t give a good defecation about the values of the York Snooper Bureau.

  18. The day every major news outlet in this country refused to display the Muhommad cartoons is the day we surrendered our freedom of speech, not by government dictate but by our own lazy cowardice.
Hundreds of thousands of lives lost in 2 world wars and we thanked them by honouring Neville Chamberlain and spitting on the grave of Churchill.

  19. To push this matter into the forefront, Geller should file an enormous defamation lawsuit against the York Police Department as well as Veerappan personally.
Veerappan would be right at home in pre WWII Germany.

  20. When the fascist and retrograde force of Islam meets the moral cowardice and multi-culti nihilism of typical Western welfare states such as Canada, guess who comes out on top? You can’t defend a declining civilization from the vantage of a cultural vacuum.
The Rabbi who folded on Geller is lower than the pin-striped Jewish Oven-tenders who worked for the Nazis in the camps. While they at least cooperated to save their lives, he co-conspired with fascists for a potential loss of comfort.
The Left wears their Islamic Blind-Spot Badges as fashion accessories for two reasons; one, to affirm and display their multicultural bona fides and, two; to piss-off the secular and particularly the non-secular Right as they hold them in similar esteem as vermin.

  21. Eric: “I think Veerappan is more likely to be a Sihk than a moslem name. Maybe Hindu?”
No, the point is, Veerappan is Muslim and that’s a fact. Check out the Ottawa Citizen’s editorial of a few days ago.
Thanks for that Batb, however, an unsigned editorial in the Ottawa Citizen does not guarantee anything as a “fact”. He well may be a moslem despite his Sikh sounding name and if that is the case it would tend to point out that converts are more often more devout than the originals. He remains an ass, of whatever heritage or religious persuasion. Cheers, Eric

  22. I doubt little Rickie has ever been a real cop. He more than likely rode the PC wave to the job he has now without ever having to do street time.

  23. “I think I’ll write to Inspector Veerappen [I did!] to remind him that his job — for which he is paid almost $150,000 per annum — is to uphold the law, not foist “the values of the York Regional Police” on the public.”
Boy, you’re not kidding. And check out this slimy little page of platitudes and cliches that would embarrass a kindergarten. How dare they address their adult citizen employers this way?
    http://www.yrp.ca/diversity.aspx

  24. Anybody else notice that little notion on the yrp website which uses the phrase “Hate/Bias Crime”? Man, these idiots are really pushing the envelope. Fascists.

  25. I agree with you, John Chittick. The rabbi is a coward, the cop is a slug and the msm is egregious. The heroine is Pamela Geller and the heroes are Ezra and the Sun News team. SDA is doing a great job of keeping this horror front and center.
Golfergirl, what you say about the msm is true but one newspaper published those cartoons – The Western Standard. Ezra was the editor of the Western Standard. The Canadian HR kangaroo court attempted to break him down but Ezra fought back and won; however, that fiasco bankrupt Western Standard. The intention was to shut down that paper and to shut up Ezra. It didn’t happen, Ezra videoed the proceedings and the HRC were exposed as the fools they are…Ezra had them fumbling, gibbering and drooling by the time he finished but the newspaper was gone! Every time I see “The Source” I think of the ‘jgeehaads’ soiling themselves and inwardly squealing “He’s Back”. I keep that image in my mind when I feel downhearted about the state of our nation. It helps.
As my little brother said to me one day long ago: ” You can’t be used for a doormat if you won’t lie down”.

  26. “I doubt little Rickie has ever been a real cop. He more than likely rode the PC wave to the job he has now without ever having to do street time.”
You can absolutely bet on that, Robert L. And such is the state of affairs in all our large police forces.

  27. I think that this moonbat should have numerous people mail him a copy of the Canadian charter of rights and freedoms which includes, if I’m not mistaken, freedom of speech. Also, it might also be worthwhile to send this idiot a link to the Canadian criminal code with the assault sections highlighted given the wife-beating tendencies of TROP.
Also, when sending this asshole a letter, indicate that a copy has been sent to PHSH. For me, this is yet one more reason to never again visit Ontario given the politics of the area.
For those who are really energetic, additional copies of a letter outlining the egregious violations of Canadian rights and freedoms should be sent to the superiors of this islamofascist.
It might also be a time to contribute to Pam Geller’s tip jar.
