LOL! I actually read her column when it was published to see if she was still an idiot, it confirmed she was and has apparently gained her even more notoriety. She’s truly a NY Times treasure.
NY Times columnists write in order to make their readers more stupid than it is hoped they already are – but the toxic effects can be felt by any reader, so read sparingly.
Boston is the future of gun control. Maureen Dowd will be cheering on the sidelines as people get dragged out and their houses get tossed (or just torched, it’s easier that way).

“Vapid” accurately describes Maureen Dowd all right. So if Dowd and the rest of the rad-left things Obama is such a failure, who actually thinks he’s a success and why are his polling numbers so high? Must be that great mushy mass of folks who don’t follow politics at all.
Obama reminds me of a variation of that old television commercial: “The closer he gets, the worse things look.”
Mead’s treatment of Dowd is spot on, but that last line “…ready to blame everything they don’t like about the state of the country on what they are sure is his incompetence, his political cowardice and his sloth.” -It sounds almost as though he doesn’t think President Obama actually is incompetent, politically cowardly, and slothful.
Ms Dowd has her work cut out for her. Everything Obama knows about being president he learned from Jack Nicholson’s portrayal of a president in ‘Mars Attacks’. For those who haven’t seen it, Jack plays it surly and low life.
It’s all about choosing the hill they are going to die on. A senator from a flyover state is further ahead ignoring gun control than he is climbing aboard. Even the Democrats from these states must understand that.
Perhaps some senators simply understand that risking re-election to support a bill that isn’t going to save one life is stupid.
Obumbles was just the face boy for this rash of globaist anti 2nd amendment assauts. He was not coordinating the vast Media campaign to demonize the 2nd amendment – for that you thank the Amerikan sovietization network – consensus partisan Media, Marxist community agitators-unionists and Hollywood (yes, I took names and know whose movies/recordings/businesses I will be boycotting) – all the social elite infrastructure who have bought into the lie of global authoritarian collectivism and are now voluntary foot soldiers in the destruction of their own freedom – you know , the “progressive” elite and kleptonomic crony corporatists.
The incredible social polarization the Dems have stirred up in America with race politics and anti-2nd amendment attacks has brought the republic to a breaking point. The fact that enough Dems broke rank to vote as their constituents wished on these gun grab bills is proof that the cult pimping this UN civilian disarmament tyranny is a small elite \(with a huge megaphone) which is totally out numbered by pro-2nd amendment public sentiment. A prime example of the social engineering elite being regravitated by the grass roots majority – guess there is just too much representative democracy left in Amerika for Obumbles sovietization of the republic to take root. The 2nd amendment is the canary in the coal mine – when it is defeated by the globalist political elite, America is dead.
I’m still in awe as to why he and Holder are not impeached yet. GOP must be totally into his agenda.
Maureen Dowd reminds me of a senior federal Liberal who I got to know when she left Ottawa and moved to Vancouver. Our commonality was volleyball and I’ve never been one to let politics interfere with something as simple & pure as sports. But off the court, over drinks & meals, it became obvious that this woman wasn’t interested in actually discussing anything. She KNEW the answers to everything and spent all of her energy trying to convince us West Coast ignoramuses of the error of our ways and the brilliance of hers. Very quickly, she grew tiring and old, much like the Liberal Party itself.
