Y2Kyoto: State Of Anorexia Envirosa

War on Everything;

Is President Obama waging a war on coal? Republicans say yes. Democrats deny it. Here’s what Bill McKibben, self-styled leader of America’s “fossil-fuel resistance,” has to say: “Recently, I had a long talk with an administration insider who kept telling me that, for the next decade, we should focus all our energies on ‘killing coal.'” Sounds like a war to me.
That wasn’t good enough for McKibben, who insisted that the administration would have “to put the same sort of thought and creative energy into killing oil and natural gas, too.” Now that’s creativity. Energy independence? “Last century’s worry,” says McKibben.

  1. Bill McKibben, self-styled leader of America’s “fossil-fuel resistance,” … and Chairperson of the Modern Moron Association.

  2. Thomas Steyer…another of Obumbles buddies and financial backers, and possibly McKibbon backer…and surprise surprise…another lefty Joo

  3. Democrats sold their souls to the freaky fruitbat Left in 1968. In 2008 the long delayed bill came due. 2013, DemocRats are paying the piper and fruitbats are calling the tune.

  4. Bill Gibbon is just a leftard monkey following his handlers. Check out WUWT or Climate Audit. He has been thoroughly debunked. Useless eedjit.

  5. Fossil fuel resistance, eh? In all fairness, fossil fuels needs some defenders. How about working class taxpayers starting a group called Friends of Fossil Fuels (F-OFF)to resist European-style fuel poverty and world-wide green crony capitalism that takes income from the middle class and showers wealth on the politically connected elite.

  6. Sure we should call it the COALition Of Alternately Lukewarm (COAL).
How on earth do you fire up the BBQ without coal; why its just not Canadian?

  7. You want a war? I say, the moment this petty tyrant sets one foot in a vehicle powered by fossil fuel or enters a building heated or cooled by the same, he should have a bullet strategically placed in his empty skull.

  8. If the coal and oil industry wanted to fight back, and win, I suggest shutting everything related to those industries down for 2 weeks to 30 days. Give warning, set a date and just do it. Pull the switches, post guards on all perimeters and tell all employees they are officially on vacation for said time. It would get ugly fast, but since this is what the watermellons are fighting for, they should just capitulate , give it to them and see how many survive. Reagan would approve.

  9. It’s been nice to hear that coal is supposed to be particularly good for plants because of the CO2 and nitrogen or something but it’s still bad for people’s lungs. Better than woodburning and no electricity but not better than gas and nuclear. As far as I’m concerned we can ‘kill coal’ and export it to where it’s wanted.

  10. They want the World to emulate North Korea. There idea of paradise.
Obama never meet a Marxist idea he didn’t love. I expect in a few short years concentration camps for Christians , or anyone not singing the International.

  11. ha ha US 42% coal energy, 2nd in university to numero uno China!!!
    (w)Yankee losers

  12. In situ coalbed gasification is undergoing rapid tech change. In time it will be virtually as clean as NG and significantly less expensive than NG. When than happens Mr. McKibben’s head will explode.

  13. You wouldn’t want to do it too quickly but phasing out coal completely within a 20 to 50 year timeline is probably a great idea all round. On Instapundit I’ve read that there are smaller modular nukes being planned that could have the core built in a factory and transported by rail, they won’t cost much more than full scale reactors and will be even safer and more flexible. I’m hoping for a big nuclear renaissance with or without thorium.

  14. But there in lies the problem Rob. We have the same resistance to Nuclear by the Green movement. You would see the same placard carrying idiots mobilizing to stop any attempt to install “bombs” in any city or town. All fossil fuel is evil in their minds including NG. Coal is already much cleaner than it was even a generation ago and new technology will continue to make it even cleaner. It will be phased out on its own as something better and cheaper (NG ?) replaces it without bringing the country to its knees. The USA now has a POTUS that does not know, or care, that the survival of the nation depends on abundant and cheap energy, including oil. America moves on wheels and the more it costs to turn those wheels the faster the economy will slide into the economic garbage can. Green power is a idiots dream.
The energy industry should just say “enough is enough” , draw a line in the sand, stop apologizing and fight back. The best way to do that is to shut ‘er down for a limited time and show these green wingnuts just how efficient this green energy is. Give them the war they have been begging for. Let’s see how Hollywood survives on Windmill and Solar power for a couple of weeks.

  15. “Let’s see how Hollywood survives on Windmill and Solar power for a couple of weeks.”
That would be a great show! I almost wouldn’t mind the greens if it meant swapping coal for nuclear but incredibly so many of them oppose nuclear at the same time they claim the world will be doomed 5 years ago. Not living in the real world yet still having an effect on it.
