The Libranos

The name “Joe Fontana” finally appears in the 18th paragraph;

A search for millions that were allegedly embezzled from the Palestinian Authority has led to Canada – and raised questions about how the prime suspect obtained Canadian citizenship.
How could a man working in the West Bank as a senior adviser to one of the most high-profile figures in the world, Yasser Arafat, manage to obtain Canadian citizenship?
Sources confirmed Mr. Rashid was granted citizenship in 2003. But Mr. Al Khatib said Mr. Rashid was in the West Bank for at least eight years prior. Mr. Rashid lived in Cairo for a time in 2003, when, according to reports, he had a rift with Mr. Arafat. But Mr. Al Khatib said he did not leave the West Bank for good until 2005.
The law requires that a person seeking Canadian citizenship must live in Canada for three of the four years prior to his application. Only the federal cabinet can waive those requirements….

  1. “He said there’s these very interesting people who want to invest in Canadian businesses – ‘ethical Canadian businesses,’ is the way it was expressed,” Mr. McRae said in telephone interview.
Libranos and ethical are mutually exclusive concepts…

  2. The Globe and Mail was quite accommodating by not allowing any comments on the article.
Protecting Liberals is their stock in trade.
Fontana seems invincible, especially since he’s already been caught using government money to pay for personal expenses. (Son’s wedding)
Toronto’s mayor has internal physical examinations in the press for raising money for charity yet the Liberano mayor of London is caught stealing and most of the public doesn’t even know.
    Standard, yet still sickening.

  3. 18 paragraphs to get to the part that should have been a front page headline. The Libranos have their media wing working overtime sanitizing their dealings.

  4. Joe Fontana is simply the local MP sponsoring Mr. Rashid. The Immigration Minister at the time was Denis Coderre. Why has no one been asking him any questions? Was there no departmental review performed before Rashid was granted his residency exemption? Why is the Globe and Mail concealing potential involvement by former Minister Coderre?

  5. “….after he was told of a potential investor by Joe Fontana, then a London, Ont. MP and chair of the House of Commons citizenship and immigration committee. Mr. Fontana is now London’s mayor.”
I wonder what Party Fontana was with, Greens,BDP, PC’s?
Chairman of the immigration committee,eh? Call me suspicious….

  6. I heard that Greasy Joe Fontana and Denny Dimwit Coderre, used the money the pali gave them under the table and bought about 2 bushel’s of Korans..m the burned them in Joe’s backyard, after pouring hot bacon grease on them…. just sayin…

  7. Sounds like this is more James Bond than 3 Stooges.
People in sensitive positions in the third world who
“help out” various NATO intelligence outfits sometimes
wind up later living in Canada. This may or may not have
    been what happened here.

  8. Hmmm…London,Ontario …mosques…criminals…Why does that sound familiar?
Pure speculation on my part, but if you were a radical iman and had an inside man in the mayor’s chair, would that embolden your Friday night speeches?

  9. I went and searched around to see how many mosques are in London. It appears that there are two. The yellow pages had the most comprehensive list of churches/place of worship. TWO.
London’s mosques are in the news because of the murdering scum in Algeria, and the Fontana/Palestine grifting. Could there be a connection?
