  1. If it is any consolation to our Yankee neighbours, Canadian farmers are sleeping with the enemy too.
Ontario’s farm organizatins, cattlemen, etc. are all snuggled up to the Ontario SPCA – probably in the hope that they’ll get eaten last.

  2. This sorta reminds me of what is unfolding in the US…..the NRA is considering “enhanced back-ground checks”…back door registration…as an acceptable alternative to the Feinstein gun grab.

  3. It’s remarkable that this poor fellow is being victimized for a simple word that the “inspectors” dislike, when if one was to stroll along rue Salaberry in Cartierville you are presented with shop after shop displaying huge signs in Arabic with not a single french word to be found.
I guess the inspectors aren’t as stupid as they appear.

  4. This will all be wonderful and people will be very happy that the poor little chickens get nicer cages. Until eggs are a buck each. Then they won’t be so happy.
And when the black market eggs start hitting the stores and people start dying of salmonella, they’ll be even less happy.
The problem I have with our present day governance is that just the few of us can sit here and predict with 100% certainty the bad things that are going to happen due to this idiocy. Yet it will be done anyway.

  5. Anyone else notice that every radical and destructive political agenda seems to focused at controlling/regulating our food supply? Think that’s just coincidence?

In a state of war food supply of the enemy is a major military target. Similarly in the culture war that has been raging in the western world for 3 decades, food supply is certainly a target of our ideological adversaries. Control a nation’s food supply, control its population – political revolutions can be accomplished without the loss of life we saw in other authoritarian take overs.

  6. Infiltration of political parties, professional organizations, trade groups etc. by ‘progressive’ morons, likely by nepotism and not by design, will destroy them and work against them.

  7. And when the black market eggs start hitting the stores and people start dying of salmonella, they’ll be even less happy.
Nope. Sorry, Phantom. They will be happier than pigs in sh1t.It’s for Agenda 21,after all.

  8. Washington RINO syndrome.
Taking the big bucks plus patronage from both
sides and falling flat at the first hurdle.

  9. As proposed by The Phantom “The problem I have with our present day governance is that just the few of us can sit here and predict with 100% certainty the bad things that are going to happen due to this idiocy. Yet it will be done anyway.”
Yep. Totally agree. Also, guess who’s going to pay for all the folks honking their guts out in the ER from salmonella? Those of us who work for private companies and produce products and services that actually generate the tax dollars that fuel the stupid. Er, ‘government’.

  10. “…when the black market eggs start hitting the stores and people start dying of salmonella…”
Well, a lot of us have been eating ‘black market’ eggs/beef/pork/cheese for years, and we’re not worried at all about salmonella.
Matter of fact, it seems to me that all of the recent salmonella/lysteria/e-coli fatal food-sourced infections did NOT arise from ‘black market’ products.

  11. Agreed, Jamie MacMaster!
End goal for HSUS: the chickens run free (to be consumed by the coyotes and hawks) while the egg farmer is charged and caged for stealing the eggs from the hens.
Meanwhile people forget that eggs are a great, cheap, source of protein and vitamins. Soylent green is so much kinder, cheaper and HSUS acceptable.
