  1. I spent a large chuck of time reading the submissions to the CRTC. They run a very awkward webpage. The majority of the Anti-SUN postings were in the vain of ‘evil, bigoted, hatred, racist’ two-liners. Very childish.
    A handful were just wingnuts.
    The Pro-SUN were surprisingly genuine. It gives me some hope.
    Sadly, it’s the CRTC. Putting SUN in the channel position it presently holds was part of their fix from the start, I feel.

  2. A google of her name and her address makes it clear why this person hates Sun News. They haven’t exactly been supportive of her cause.

  3. By the way, as of now there are 5575 single responses on behalf of Sun News. This excludes the one submitted by the Sun News group, which submitted a single a giant batch with further thousands of comments.
    The first submission were mostly negative, all by internet, brief and mindless. Subsequently the overwhelming majority are positive. Practically every single handwritten or hard copy letter is in favour of Sun News. I doubt very much that the CRTC has received so much commentary on an issue in the past or this much mail.
    Call me naive, but I am cautiously hopeful that this will sway some people.

  4. This latest campaign to limit free speech is being run from the ‘Public Response’ website. The president of Public Response is Steven Staples. SS is occasionally seen on CBC,CTV,and even Sun News. I’ve never seen him on Sun myself.
    SS is frequently linked with the ‘Center for Policy Alternatives’ ,an organization run by Judy Rebick.
    Public Response has an impressive client list. Unions,including CEP which is the journalist’s union for the CBC,Globe ,and TorStar,and other clients such as “the David Suzuki Foundation” and ” Friends of Canadian Broadcasting”. The Sun has been critical of the CBC and Mr. Suzuki.
    I managed to have a short e-mail conversation with the SS. He says that he does not get paid for his appearances on television. He contends that this campaign is a personal project. He may be telling the truth.

  5. Of course. Because the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec who own half of QMI (Sun News’s parent company) is a front for the Elders of Zion, just like the Parti québécois.
    This is what turning away from God does to people.
    The rest of us can only dream of people running Canada’s media who take the Law of Moses seriously instead of godless French Canadians who can’t think of anything better to fill the airwaves but soft porn and and propaganda blaming the Jews and the English for all the world’s misery.
    We might finally have TV news worth watching at night. You’re far more likely to have a clue what the Israel question means for Canada if you’ve bothered to read a Bible once in your life.

    BTW, anyone care to enlighten me on why you right-wing people always refer to Jewish people in print as “the Joos”? What’s with the spelling? Some secret ‘wink’ you guys are sharing?

    I really don’t think this is part of the Law of Moses. The parsing of words continues apace…
    Leviticus 18:22 prohibits a man lying with a man, but not with a young boy. Thus the Talmud Sages reason:
