  7. For all intents & purposes, David Gregory is a de facto Press Secretary of President Obama. To deny that is to deny that the Earth is round.
    So Gregory’s only truthful answer to John McCain’s question would be: “No, I do not care, if a Democrat President is in power. But if a Republican one was there instead, I would move heaven & earth to uncover the full truth of what happened.”
    And that, my friends, is the actual state of “journalism” in America in 2013. 🙁

The interview with Ryan was just as bad with the journalist insisting that Ryan declare if he will run for president in four years and if his chances had been hurt by the election result.

  15. The media is just trying to turn the page on all this. What difference does it make was a carefully scripted line that all the troops are rallying around as they circle the wagons and this is just another example.
    It’s a perfect apprach for the voter who relies on the tag lines. Are we still talking about this? It’s a shame but really, greater tragedies happen in downtown chicago every night because of Geaorge W bush, Climate Change, the racist, sexist, anti-gay repblicans and corporate greed. Right?
    So Obama preferred to pull the covers over his head rather than deal with it the night it happened or the next day.
    What will he do when the free world really needs him to make a decision?

  16. One scenario: a medium-sized ship is detected on radar making for the Port of New York at flank speed. It is 300 km from port. Its speed alone rules out a commercial vessel. There have been intelligence reports that the Iranians have been loading nuclear warheads onto surface-to-surface missiles (which they possess, as of 2013). They are known to possess missile boats (true, as of 2013). The missiles (assuming that they are on board the ship) can be launched from 200 km. With immediate air response, the ship can probably be disabled or destroyed before it reaches that 200 km, but prompt action is essential.
    What happens next?

I think what would happen is that National defence would try to reach out to the commander and chief, who would either be having samosas with Kanye and Kim, playing b-ball with Jay z or golfing with Tiger and Lindsay. He probably would then realize that this sounded like there might be significant votes attached to it, so he would immediately engage axelrod and his communications team in crafting a message.
    That’s what matters right?
    What difference does the other stuff make?

  20. The ex Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said B. Hussien didn’t know, The Secretary of Defense Panetta says one thing, The Chief of Staff says another? Nobody knows who are, or where are the others from that night. The current Secretary of State Kerry has more security around him in the US than Ambassador Stevens had in Libya.
    Nobody knows what anyone knew beyond underlying doubt. The media hasn’t tried contacting the military personal that were on duty in Germany that night, the media looks the other way, and asks why Marco Rubio had to pause for a sip of water.

  22. Let’s this of this scenario. The Iranians get hold of a few oil tankers or transport ships the Somali pirates have captured. They empty the ships of its contents and put one or two nuclear devices with a yield of a few kilotons. They sail the ships to three maybe four large US ports, let’s say New York, Boston, San Diego and Virginia. Concurrently, they sail a ship to London. They all sail into port at the same time and explode at the same time. Imagine the carnage. Of course these ships would be piloted by suicide crews. Would the media blame Obama for this breach? Would they even cover it?

    The Rose Garden speech mention of “terror” was so oblique as to be only arguably a direct reference to Benghazi. “No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, blah blah blah…..”

    The important point, of course, is that Sir Dronesalot and his minions proceeded to lie about the whole monumental disaster for weeks. Months. For ever, if they can. Their scapegoat is still sitting in jail for exercising his right to free speech parole violation, isn’t he? So really, I’m tempted to ask you what difference it makes.
    As for Palin (I have no idea what that stupid winky thing you did is referring to, BTW) – well, you know what they say. She lives rent free in your heads. But then of course everybody knows the three “L”s which determine property values, so maybe she’s getting an okay deal.

The Iranians load their one painstakingly created a-bomb onto a ship, just as a salvo of tomahawk cruise missiles slams into it, making their port glow in the dark for the next 50 years. American airpower spends the next 3 months clearing out old inventory over Persia from 30,000 feet. A popular uprising, backed by American special forces, spends a year turning the revolutionary guards into flaming Mos. And we all mostly live happily ever after.

  31. He did not refer to Benghazi specifically as a terrorist act, his comment was a general comment about fighting terrorism. He was blaming a video for two weeks after. Look it up. Stooge.

  32. Your scenario under any other president probable…this pres and administration…not so much. To do so, he would have to openly go to war with the Iranians (everything in your scenario is an act of war)–which would require the acquiecense of Congress. He cares too much about his standing in the UN to do anything unilaterally–even at the expense of US citizens.
